May 6, 2009I have four objects with a .speed property. I want to compare all four and snag the object with the lowest speed. That alone I can get a grip on no problem. But, it's quite possible that 2 or more of the objects could have the same lowest speed. Here's where my ideas start to get muddled and rather involved. Compare two, toss the lowest in an array, if equal toss them both in.Compare the third to the array, if it's lower replace the existing item(s) with this one, if it's equal add it.Do a similiar thing with the fourth.To do all that I can't think of anything but a boatload of IFs and nested IFs.

Nov 21, 2010What i have is 2 arrays, where one is "correct" - set by the computer. The player then makes his array and when its done i want to compare them to see that they match up. The array is in theory able to go infinite (its a memory game), and i thought this would work.
The arrays can only contain the numbers 1,2,3 or 4. which is added like this

What happens with my code, is it goes to lose each time. How can i compare the object at spot 1 in each array, then 2 in each array, etc?

I want to compare that with a variable which has same value 1,1,1,1
If the both value is same than it will display correct feedback.

Is that because the element in the Array is reference to the XML node, and "11265" is String. If so, how should I fix this problem. The "11265" will be changed to any named String type variable in the future.

Jul 9, 2011I am creating a card game application in that dynamic movieclips created on stage and inside those movieclips different cards can drop, which have some values.
If one movieclip contains one card and another movieclip contained two cards and all the other movieclips 3rd,4th,5th.. etc contains some cards then, if i want to go back and want to drop another card at the top of the old one, than how i can do this, because when i go back and drop a new card inside movieclip than it replaces the old one. i don't want to create a new array for each movieclip.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Does Setting An Array Of Objects To Null Erase The Objects From Memory
Apr 27, 2010I have an array of temporary objects created in a for loop. The objects are of type class "Tile", a class I created. However, it appears that whenever I create a lot of tiles in the for loop, the program slows down indefinitely.
While the array is whiped at a later trigger point, I am thinking that perhaps these Tile objects are not being erased from memory. They are being created on the fly in a for loop, and the array is being reset to "array = []".
Are the objects still in memory or are they cleaned up when the array is set to []?

Oct 17, 2011iSo let's say I have three different arrays of objects, and I want to combine them into one sorted array. I want the order to be such that the items from each array are evenly distributed throughout the sorted array.
If there were 3 xItems, 3 yItems, and 3 zItems, the sorted array would have this order: x, y, z, x, y, z, x, y, z
HOWEVER, even if the arrays are differing lengths, I still need to make them alternate as much as possible. If there were 6 xItems, 4 yItems, and 2 zItems, the sorted array should have this order: x, y, x, y, x, z, x, y, x, y, x, z

Nov 30, 2010I have declared an Array as a new Array(); I would like to push objects into that array but have a text field read back the array minus the commas that are pushed by user interaction (from numbered buttons).
