I need to create a button, or at least a movie clip that functions like a button that will print a page when clicked. Ideally I would like to have the button as part of the flash application, which will be online embedded into a web page as a .swf. on click the print page dialog box will appear, and the user will be able to print out the web page. What is the best way to code this?

When printing, the print only shows the text visible on the screen at the time of printing, so most of my text is missing from the print.To solve the problem I created a print version of that page, with full text visible. I figure a print button can link to it. View 3 RepliesI am trying to make a print button that will print the contents of a mc...this mc basically holds a dynamically drawn floorplan which can be zoomed and panned...I want to be able to print the contents of the mc, and only what is viewable in the mc at the time of the print...so if you are zoomed in, all that prints are the actual objects visibly seen in the mc...I think it may be with the print command using bmovie but I have no idea how to assign a #b lable to the frame.

View 1 RepliesIn my web app, I would like to print a web page via a real, physical printer using Flash.I want to do this so that typical page headers added by the browser (eg. the URL and "Page x of y") do not get added to the printout.Perhaps I could generate a PDF and pass it to the SWF, or perhaps I could just send raw HTML ann CSS to the SWF, and then I could call some .print() method via Javascript against the SWF. So, 1) is this possible? and 2) is there a library (on GitHub perhaps) somewhere that would let me do this?

Ok, this is a function that used to work...so I didn't check it for a while...and I did not edit it from when it was working in any way...but now the print function does not produce a page from the printer...when I click "Print View" the print dialog box comes up, and I can choose my printer, and when I click ok, there is a tooltip near the windows clock that says document sent to printer, but the printer never does anything...I have tested this in several printers and several computers...I have also tried to output to a pdf...and it allows me to choose a file name to save to but it never creates the file...

I have movies loading into various levels (not my choice, but the head designer set it up this way) and the client decided they needed a print function. I am trying to avoid adding a print function to each swf since there are a lot of them.I have a function for printing, but it only allows me to define one level. And often we need to print multiple levels because elements are stacked on top of each other. Here is my action:

This is not working to place the mc correctly on the page. This is all the Adobe help provides. Also Googled and tried different variations but no success.
I have used printjob in my project for printing. I have a stage with images, shapes and text etc in printing group. While printing, it takes some two to three minutes to getting print a single page. The Print Spooler window shows that 60MB for each page.

The story starts when one day, my boss asked me to make a flash presentation about their upcoming user training for a newly developed software. I was enthusiastic and excited about it because it's been a long time that I did not use Flash (note that I don't have any experience in ActionScript 3.0). At first, everything was a bit rough as I need to recall how to properly use the frames to create a successful animation. As I was about to finish the project, my boss approached me again and asked if I could insert a menu page in front so that the users won't have to replay the whole thing again just to look for a little something on that part of the movie. So yea, at first I was abit hesitant to accept. I said that it will work with Powerpoint. But she's a total pusher and I was forced to say yes. Now I'm having this problem about how to make a flash button load a swf movie.I've tried searching all over the net for tutorials but most of the times the "getUrl" and other stuff are said to be outdated.

It collects all the data fine but it does not print it out correctly, it prints out all the variables in the php in one link. For example: If i click the facebook icon, i will be taken to http:[url].... This also happens with the other icons (Youtube and Twitter).

View 0 Repliesi have some preloader frustrations..dont point me to a previous preloader thread...i have been there already and no im not talking about any preloader that loads the WHOLE movie at the beginning, i know how those work... I need a tutorial/explanation that will teach me how to load a move 'button by button' or 'page by page'.
By this I mean, the first thing the movie will do is load the first 'page' and say you have a few more buttons on that 'page'. It loads all the buttons and that 'page' first..nothing else...then i click one of the buttons (no matter what order) and the 'page' switches to a preloader and then when the second 'page' is loaded, it is displayed.So many sites have this kind of preloader...but i cant believe how many tutorial sites only teach how to program the type of preloader that just loads the WHOLE movie.
