Perhaps I should leave well enough alone, but it bugs me that my hitTest gives me an error message even though it seems to work as intended. I have two movieClips running side by side. The second clip, the hitTest object is actually in an array that I keep pushing every second.

I have tried to trace cars[i].name and it returns "instance XXX" instead of what I would have expected, which would have been something like cars1, cars2, etc... If that is creating the error, I don't know how to fix it. I have thought also that perhaps the array itself is being referenced, but again I wouldn't know how to change it.

This is the error I'm getting with my code and I believe it has to do with the sounds needed to be played back. Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2032: Stream Error. at workingg_fla::MainTimeline/stage_EnterFrame()
My code:
import flash.events.ActivityEvent; import flash.events.StatusEvent; import flash.media.Microphone; //line code belowvar container1:Sprite = new Sprite();var container2:Sprite = new Sprite();var container3:Sprite = new Sprite();var container4:Sprite = new Sprite();var container5:Sprite = new Sprite();//random coordinates for container1var corcon1x:Number = Math.round(Math.random()*600);var[code].......
What I need from this code is the following:
a. to pick up the mic activity level, read it, and based on the number put out a line
b. it to be kept to a minute, after the minute the screen is cleared and it plays back the lines and sounds that had been generated.
c. that nothing appears when the mic.activityLevel is 0
d.that when lines hit each other, a sound is made
I don't care if there is no playback, but right now I can't even get the lines to appear and I need the sounds to play when the lines hit each other.

I have a Android Actionscript project that I am trying to incorporate sound in, but having a problem that I cannot figure out. I have the sound file in the same directory as my class file and my .xfl file. I am trying to start the music file as soon as the application starts via class reference, but am getting the same error everytime:
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2032: Stream Error.
at playAudio()[C:pathtoerrorplayAudio.as:9]
at networkScores/frame1()[networkScores::frame1:7]
Here is my class file:
package
{
import flash.media.Sound;
import flash.net.URLRequest;
[code]....
Here is my call from the timeline:
import playAudio;
var playMusic:playAudio = new playAudio(1);
I had to put a link to the mp3 file in my server, instead of putting it in my directory.

I have a function in my AS3 that frequently calls a PHP file. Most of the time it works but occasionally it fails and throws the error I used in the title. I researched this fairly extensively and started capturing the event in the following manner:
public static function Bar():void {
var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("path/to/file.php");
var requestVariables:URLVariables = new URLVariables();
var loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();

which everything seems fine, but when i implement a slider on a page inside a folder in the root (i.e. aboutus/index.aspx) i get that error when the slider is trying to call the images.I have similar slider animations in pages located in the root folder and in those i get no problem at all, seems it only happens when the page is located inside a folder.The website is done using main.master on asp, maybe the cache or rendering of the website is missing something, hope someone has had something similar or know how to get around this.

I have a swf file "website.swf" on my desktop computer, in the www directory of my wamp server. The website loads the swf file fine.I have one textbox that i want to be able to load all the different contents of my site depending on the page, and in the same directory, I have all the different txt files (i.e. news.txt about.txt portfolio.txt etc)Now, when I'm running the swf file in Flash CS5, it makes me allow it and then works fine. However, once I publish and put it on the server, and then go to the website it returns "Error 2048". I've tried doing the crossdomain.xml suggestions to no avail.

I understand that to reference any loaded assets I need to use the File class and package my assets with the Air app. I'm working for the moment with the CS5 IDE and using the Air publish settings to include the folders where my assets are (i.e. I add the folders, not the individual files, as there are many).When I try to load the first file, an xml file, via URLLoader I get a "2032" error -- an IOError, stream error.The code I'm using to get the correct path for my loaded assets is
function getPath($path:String):String {
var f:File = File.applicationStorageDirectory;
debug(f.resolvePath($path).url)

I have a project that was already supposed to be launched. It tested fine on my computer, but is throwing an error on other browsers....and I cannot figure out how to catch the error! I have been reading and trying everything, but nothing is working!!!
I captioned a video using components, but the captions are stored in the video and the source then is "0". Flash doesn't understand "0", but the captions still work. I need Flash to ignore the error so it stops crashing the browsers!

I'm creating a flash basketball bracket that I need to submit the picks to a MSSQL database on an ASP.NET server. Every time, I get the #2032 Stream Error, which usually means the URL doesn't exist (which it does). The thing that chaps my behind is that if I trace the url and the variables, then paste that into a browser window, the database updates perfectly, just as I want it to. My code is below. Of course, the tournament is ten days away and I've been stuck here for a week, so if anyone can see what the heck is going wrong, please let me know.

This is really irritating me. In ruby it is very simple to load an mp3 file via its file class and manipulate it, even play it. (Yes, I am aware that this is as3 ).According to what the stdlib documentation says I should be able to use:
//assume I am irritated and have defined a public static variable called soundClip
Main.soundClip.load(new URLRequest("C:lo1.mp3"));
Main.soundClip.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onComplete, false, 0, true);

I'm having some trouble understandig this. What i'm doing is using a very basic urlLoader to send text to an ASP. Everything works just as expected using English and Swedish, but if i try and send some Russian (cyrillic) Flash throws an error 2032 on a script working flawless up to this point. Am i missing the obvious here? the first one to admit never worked with russian thext in this fashion before, does it need special encoding or is there something i need to do to make this work?
