ActionScript 3.0 :: Loading Website On Mouse Click?

I have made a CoverFlow carousel where one image is always displayed in the center and the others are on either side in the background. When clicking on of one the images in the background that image appears in the center. Nothing else should happen. When clicking on the image in the center, a website loads. Using A3 I managed to get a website to open when clicking on the center image. The problem is that when one clicks on one of the background images it comes to the center and then automatically the website loads. I don�t understand why this happens since I specifically stated that on mouse click only it should open. Maybe because it counts the previous mouse click??Here is the relevant code:

I just started playing around with as3 and I have a function for mouse clicks that draws a shape on each click. However the mouse click event does not appear to work unless I click a movieClip object I placed in the middle of the screen. Is there a way to make the mouse click event recognize when I click anywhere on the screen?
I changed the mouse cursor using a tutoral from this forum, but when I press the right mouse button,the standard mouse cursor reapears.How to prevent that?
I am trying to have two guestures on a SpriteVisualElement which I thought should be pretty simple implemented: Mouse_Move for sweep Gestures and mouse click to enable.. So I have 2 Eventlisteners on my stage:

The main problem is that every type of sweeping on the screen also fires the taphandler().. how to identify the correct event? I tried to to my taphandler only if(!event.buttondown) but no success.
I am looking for a way to simulate a mouse hover/mouse click. What's happening is a bar is autoscrolling and checking to see if there is an active button 'below' it. Sort of like a bar rolling along a music staff and checking for notes.
Is there a code in actionscript 2.0 for flash cs4 to disable left-clicking in IE on a flash swf embedded in an html page...the movie does not contain any buttons, but calls an xml file which contains path to images to be displayed. I tried using another swf file to call the original one (since original one I have only the swf available to use, no fla) but although it works fine in firefox, in IE it still allows users to click on the flash, and also changes to hand-cursor, while should have been the default cursor in use by windows, and no clicking (except right-click)... code is as follows:
I was working through your XML Carousel AS2 tutorial, and I was wondering how you use Actionscript to get a URL and navigate to an external website when you click on an icon? Or anything really, it would be a useful thing to do for a button or whatever.

With the aid of Dreamweaver CS4 I've manged to create a temp 'under construction website'. This website has a fullscreen .swf looping in the background.
I have made 4 of these very short looping .swf files.Is it possible, by adding one simple button on the screen, for the user click and the next .swf background starts playing? So basically this button acts a 'next' button, and each times it's clicked the next .swf starts to play.

The following code is okay as it works fine and opens the Projects.pdf file in same window. But the problem is when I use browser back button, it takes me to home page instead of Projects page.[code]...

I want to have pop-ups activated on mouse over of a button in my all-Flash website. By pop-up, I mean in the same browser window. Just a small window that comes up with a small amount of content related to the respective button. How do I do this?

If I "Right Mouse Click" on a Flash SWF file embedded in a page and click "Print" it prints just the flash, in perfect colour etc etc..How can I achieve this exact operation, but as a button in Flash? So it prints just as if I did the above operation.
As an extra, if you know how - Is there any way I can default the page to print out "Landscape" too ?
And just loved the way it looked, anyone have any idea how to get a similar effect using ideally CSS/JS and if not then using flash? Furthermore it would be excellent if you could move to the next slide by clicking on the image itself.I'm also wondering how she is able to maintain height of the images when resizing (unless she is doing it manually which I doubt now days).
I've seen a really cool flash website and im trying to incorporate some of its features into my own website. It resizes its flash file depending on your screen resolution and it uses the mouse curser to navigate in all four directions around the site... it can be found in the link below...

I have a very basic intro AS3 game. i have a base.swf, level1.swf, level2.swf, level3.swf and youwin.swf.
play the game in flash and it works perfectly! evertyhing loads the way it is supposed to.
i published it, uploaded it to my site, and it plays fine until youwin.swf is supposed to load at the end. i tested it on safari, firefox and opera. it works on opera but oes not play the youwin.swf like it should with the animation.
what are the possible causes for this type of occurrence? i have checked and double checked my code to make sure my variables are correct.[code]...
The problem: I have a Flash website and created the gallery for in in a seperate swf file. I now want to load this gallery into a movieclip once the playhead reachs fram 45. I have loaded the data successfully when the button is clicked, but that's as far as it goes. I try to add it to a movieclip (gallery_mc.addChild(loadGallery); )and recieve the error: "1067: Implicit coercion of a value of type flash.net:URLLoader to an unrelated type flash.display: DisplayObject.". I probably should mention that this code is on the timeline as well, so it isn't a matter of importing events.
I am kind of new to javascript/html5. normally I would do that kind of stuff inside flash/as3. but since the iPad doesn't support that I need to switch the horse...I want to build a website where words are floating in position and size and if the mouse comes over one word it should draw some lines to all the other words. are there any frameworks one could use? the whole should look like a tag cloud with lines between the tags.
how to use flash, which is a daunting task. To make matters worse, my mouse will not click whenever a new window opens. For example, the dropdown windows that pop up when you click the corner of some of the tools. (like the tool to draw a rectangle or oval, etc.) Icons will highlight when I move my mouse over them, but clicking does nothing at all. I have the Adobe Post Production Suite, and it does this for all of the programs I have tried so far. For example, when recording in Soundbooth I can't click the record button or the stop button. Thus far I have been using the enter button and shortcut keys to get by, but this doesn't work all the time because some features don't have shortcuts. My laptop is a Dell Studio XPS. It's a little over a month old, and I've never had this kind of problem before. I tried running the programs while using a Wacom tablet to see if my mouse had gone bad, but nothing changed. I've searched the forums and haven't found anyone with similar problems. This really has me stumped. Another problem that I think is related: I can't change the colors of objects in flash. Whenever I open the color palette and put my mouse over a color, it shows up as gray. (All the colors show as the same shade of gray.) I've used lots of programs since I've had this computer, and never had anything like this happen. The only thing I can think of that might cause a problem is that my computer is a widescreen. This sometimes causes a problem with certain applications because the windows are too tall.
I have a movie clip, and I would like it to stop blocking mouse clicks from getting to deeper items on the stage.I haven't added any eventlisteners to the offending clip, but when it is overlapping other clips that do have listeners, it intercepts clicks and prevents them from getting to the overlapped clips.
notice how it doesn't take any time to load on first URL, but on the second URL, it takes A LOT of time for the flash swf (header) to appear. Even when you change pages, it doesn't seem to get cached.
Somehow through tons of research I've been able to make myself a flash website which features my work. There is one big problem, my site loads really slow and I'm afraid I'm loosing all of my potential clients who probably won't wait for it to load.

I am quite a rookie when it comes to action script soI made myself an advert from using some video and the filesize is obviously quite large (1mb). The problem is that the sitewhere the advert is to go only accepts file sizes up to 50kb. My plan is therefore to make a smaller version of the advertwhich just displays the company logo, but then loads the other .swffile from my website.Firstly is this possible....... and second how do I do itspell it out really simply as I always seem to get lost inall the gargon. I am an interactive design student working on a flash portfiolio and . I can't figure out how to load a game I made in flash into my porfolio so that it loads after clicking on a button, becomes playable, then have a button to leave the game and go back to my portfolio.
