I want to have pop-ups activated on mouse over of a button in my all-Flash website. By pop-up, I mean in the same browser window. Just a small window that comes up with a small amount of content related to the respective button. How do I do this?
View 4 RepliesWhen the user mouses over a button, it brings up a menu. I want the user to be able to click things in that menu that pops up, but of course when the user moves the cursor off the button and onto the menu, it deactivates the button and the menu disappears. Is there a way around this?

I am using swfobject to embed the flash object into the web page. I think I need to use javascript to handle the event of clicking on the button and then use z-index to have it appear to hover. Ideally the flash would center itself in the middle of the browser

I have a quite problem with two movie clips. One of them is dragable and small, lets say mc_lens. The other one is the entire background mc_bug.When i pass the mouse over the mc_lens, the mc_bug (background) is activated. And THAT is what i dont want. I want that everytime my cursor is over the mc_lens, the mc_bug is disabled or something like this but NOT erased, and when the mouse cursor is out of mc_lens, activate the mc_bug again.

View 15 RepliesI'm creating a platform game, and I want the character to hit a button which would take them to the next level (keyframe).
I want it to work like a normal button, except for the character on the screen, on contact with the button to transport into the next keyframe, rather than the user having to click the object.
Also, is there anyway to do this while at the same time (while changing to the next keyframe) keeping the score, so it adds up with the next levels points?
I'm designing a countdown timer that starts when you press a button.There are 4 buttons altogether in which i placed preset values like say, 5,10,15.20 mins.You get the drift.and it is supposed to start counting down from there.
However,when i press the button,it just gets stuck at a certain number e.g 4:58:49 and it doesnt count down.My actionscript is written like the one below.i don't understand why it doesnt work.A

I have a button on my page and when I click it, I'd like a sendAndLoad event to happen. The button's instance name is button. I'm not sure how to get the sendAndLoad to be activated when the button (in this case a submit button) is pressed. I know that sendAndLoad is with the LoadVars class so I'm not sure it can even be called within a button actions. Here is the sendAndLoad I'm trying to use:

I am using the mctween activated bttn.My bttns are looped and have been defined in a variable.I am trying to get specific onrelease functions such as loadMovie from each button in the loop depending on what bttn is clicked,but instead the onrelease functions is loading movies for all when any bttn in the loop is clicked.Heres my code.

am i publishing the movie incorrectly? It works great when I preview the flash file (cntrl+enter), but after I publish it and insert it into the html (in dreamweaver), the file shows up and animates perfectly, but when clicked, no link... It doesn't do anything

I m creating a project of maze game in which have to use keyboard event. All the coding is done in as3 and i m using swc files in my project. When i published the swf, it shows me intro screen then it goes to game screen when i click on play button. Then the game screen gets loaded (i did addChild for this as i m using swc for each screen). Now the keyboard event should capture when any key is pressed. For this i wrote :
Main.STAGE.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN , pressSpaceBar);
Main.STAGE is a static variable stored in another .as file.
But the event is not firing on loading the game screen. It fires when i click anywhere on screen(screen selection).
Why this is happening ? and why the keyboard event is not firing ?

I've got a nearly completed Flash site, but one of the buttons isn't working--sometimes. Run the .fla below, wait for the animation to stop, and click the "services" star. Two more stars appear: "design and production" and "editorial." If you click on "design and production" first, everything works fine. You can get to editorial and everywhere else. BUT if you click on "editorial" first (after clicking "services" but before clicking "design and production"), the "design and production" button doesn't work from there (the "editorial" label frames in the "inline_frame" movie clip). I've got several Actions keyframes in the "inline_frame" movie clip--I don't know if that's kosher or not.

I designed a website using tips from [URL]. It's a single .swf. Nothing complicated about the as3 script. Mostly gotoAndStop commands to jump around the timeline to the different sections of the site. My question is how to set up the site as individual swfs for each "page" so the back and forward buttons on an internet browser will function. I've seen samples of loading external swfs but it's not clear how to write scripts to jump around various pages for a website.

I've seen a tutorial for changing the background inside of flash based on buttons to click. However, these colors were palettes and not of backgrounds such as jpeg. What I'd like to do is to create 3 buttons and place them on my flash website. These three buttons allow the user to click on them thus changing the background. So if you're visiting the about page and click one of these buttons, I don't want the user to go back to the home page after clicking.

View 4 RepliesI used to make fullscreen Flash websites, using 100x100 width/height and "No Scale" on Publish Settings.Everything is ok on a browser, since I can position elements using relative coordinates for liquid layouts.Now I have to make a fullscreen standalone .exe projector.To get fullscreen I use fscommand("fullscreen", "true") on the first frame and it works.
The problem is:If I create a 1024x768 Flash movie, even with 100x100 and "No Scale" activated, the movie remains at 1024x768.So, if I trace stage.stageWidth and stage.stageHeight, those remain respectively at "1024" and "768", but I need for the movie to get the max width and max height available on the system.
In the browser it happens automatically, but in the Flash projector it doesn't. how can I get the movie to match the exact size of the screen where it runs?I've tried with Capabilities.screenResolutionX and Y but there is no way (and I think it's normal) to set the stage.width and stage.height properties on runtime.
I am wondering how hard it would be to write some script that paned my website horizontally either with a scroll bar at the bottom or by clicking the empty space and dragging?
View 3 RepliesI have made a CoverFlow carousel where one image is always displayed in the center and the others are on either side in the background. When clicking on of one the images in the background that image appears in the center. Nothing else should happen. When clicking on the image in the center, a website loads. Using A3 I managed to get a website to open when clicking on the center image. The problem is that when one clicks on one of the background images it comes to the center and then automatically the website loads. I don�t understand why this happens since I specifically stated that on mouse click only it should open. Maybe because it counts the previous mouse click??Here is the relevant code:

View 4 RepliesI have a very simple piece of code but it has one very annoying bug. When I press the button a second time, the code doesn't work. The only way to get the code to work is by moving the mouse a tiny bit, or moving the mouse off the button and back on. make a button that can be clicked many times without moving the mouse?
