Jul 30, 2011I have what I hope is a fairly straight forward question that I hope you can answer if you write code with a Mac or are at least familiar with the process on a Mac? The person I have been working with to create my photography website uses a PC. Here is the problem. I am trying to use my Mac in order to create frames so that I can add 5 more images to a portfolio that presently has 15 images.
The code is in an index.fla file. If I want to create a new frame in the index.fla, let's say LOAD CODE 381 and want to use the same text that is already present in LOAD CODE 380 but with a few edits, I have no trouble going to the Action-Movie Clip and finding LOAD CODE 380 in the left hand column. The problem is, on a Mac, how do I create frame LOAD CODE 381 and then how do I copy and paste the text from LOAD CODE 380 into LOAD CODE 381? It looks like on a PC one can open LOAD CODE 380 in the Action-Movie Clip, highlight the text then right click on the red rectangular box in the timeline. By doing so (on a PC) one sees a drop down menu that gives the option to "copy key frame". What is the equivalent of the "copy key frame" on a Mac? I can see where on the Mac you can go to Edit >copy. Is this the equivalent of "copy key frame" on a PC? If so, once I "copy" the text how do I create the new LOAD CODE 381 so that I can paste the text into the new frame?

May 30, 2011I was going to download the trial version of Flash Professional CS5.5 but when I got to the download page it wasn't downloading. The "Download now" button was there, but it was unclickable, when I clicked on it it didn't work, plus it was a little dimmer than I remember it was when I downloaded another trial. May 27, 2007I would like to allow visitors to download flash files from my website.
I have the following code one my first button:

This works fine and opens a 'Save', 'Open' or 'Cancel' pop-up box.
For button two (the xml file which visitors can use to populate the blank website they have downloaded) I have used the following code:

However, rather than giving the option of saving the file (which is what I want) the file opens in a new browser window.

May 12, 2010I have created mc's (movie clips) for each one of my pages and for pages within those pages, if you can understand that lol. The problem I am having is, linking from one mc to another.
Example: I am in my home page movie clip, and I have a "read more" button on one of the articles, when a user clicks on this button I want him to be redirected to the page that article is on.
In my case, I am making a website that gives users information on Paris, France. On my home page I have an article that speaks about Napoleonic and I have created a "read more" button. The information on Napoleonic is on the landmarks page(which is its own movie clip). When the user clicks on the "read more" button I want him to be redirected to the page thats in its own movie clip with the info.
Professional :: Refresh Button Does Not Refresh Flash Website
Sep 30, 2010I had an issue with my index.html testing on IE and the preloader just stalls on "loading 0%". he told me that locally the progress event doesn't have time to load and to try uploading it to your server and see if it works. It worked just fine. Rah Rah Kglad.
So today I'm fine tuning the swf/ fla to clean it up. Reduced some picture sizes and deleted unused files and reduced the swf from 4000 KB to 350 KB Rah Rah Gene. replaced the swf in Dreamweaver and re-uploaded with Filezilla. Rah ah Filezilla.
Everything working great and my preload went from 23 seconds to less than 3. So I'm real happy except for one small issue. Firefox and IE both do this. If I hit the refresh button, it stalls on "loading 0%" once again just like it did locally.
If I hit the refresh several times it WILL refresh randomly....2 times refresh......10 times refresh etc.

Spoke to my hosting company who said everything seems fine on the server. BTW he said Chrome did NOT have this issue Rah Rah Chrome.

Jan 21, 2010I've been having a bit of a hard time understanding how to get a button which I have created in Flash to navigate to the next slide of the PowerPoint presentation which it has been added into.
I understand that I somehow need to make use of fscommand in ActionScript, but I'm not sure how I can get Flash and PowerPoint to communicate between themselves.
I'm using Flash MX 2004 7.0 and Powerpoint 2003.
