ActionScript 3.0 :: Building Flash Website.. Download Link & Pay?
Jun 7, 2010
I'm making a Flash website using Actionscript 3.0 and I'd like to feature a file for download, however the user will have to pay for said download. Ideally, I'd like just a "Download Now!" button on a certain page, then the user would be sent to PayPal and the downloading would commence. How do I set that, or something similar, up?
i have a created full flash site and i m ready to upload it on a my server But i want to add a download link to a pdf file in my Site can i just do it by simply adding the following A.S. to the button
Im building for the first time a website with flash (ac3). but Im not a total n00b to flash. My plan is it to creat a main.swf file which holds things like the navigation and the language selector (you can choose "ru" or "eng") and it has a function which loads the subpages.swf (i think its better to make the subpages unique becouse they wont look the same at all) e.g. if I click on the second navibutton it should load the 02.swf inside of the main.swf __and__ destroy the old .swf which was there befor. I dont know how to write this function the best way (addChild / removeChild maybe?), but i know how to addEventListener to the buttons. My second problem is inside of this (e.g. 02.swf) will be a function which fillout the textfields with xml data. So this function needs to get the language var from the main.swf to parse xml with the right language. I know how to do the parsing part. But i dont know how to send a var from main.swf to the page.swf.
I've been building Flash web sites for a long time now, as a freelance developer. I usually work alone, and so I'm the only one that touches the production work I do.Since I'm in this working position, I don't get a lot of exposure to other styles of flash production. I was wondering if any of you have examples of the best ways to produce high quality flash websites. I'm not talking about huge team projects, but small 40-50 work hour sites.[code]
im building a little flash website for a friend, struggling my way through. Its quite a steep learning curve as this is my first bit of flash work.Heres the problem, i built the part below, added buttons that should scroll through a series of pictures when clicked (which will be replaced with pages later).
The buttons work, and when pressed for the first time they select the right page. However pressing the buttons in a certain order seems to mess things up.
If i press page 1, page 2, page 3 then press page 2 again, page 1 is displayed
I have 2 websites both built entirely in flash. My problem is that I have created a button on 1 of the sites that has to link to a particular scene and frame within a different flash website.
I can't find a way to make a downloadlink in flash. You know "click a button" and then have the windows file download message "OPEN-SAVE-CANCEL-MOREINFO" appearing.
This might be a simple question, but I'll ask it anyways. I know when I update my flash website I have to clear the cache to view the changes. Now, will all users have to do that to see the new changes, or will the browser eventually detect changes and download the new version?
I have an standalone flash projector file, running from a CD-rom. on the CD-rom I also have a .pdf file. I want to create a link where the user can download this file to the desktop. surely there's a better way of accessing the file rather than using getURL? hopefully because getURL is causing sporadic crashing of my movie! dar
I could contact about building a custom live Flash media encoder for our website. We have a database for authentication and a list of upcoming events with stream information (FMS URL and Stream Name) that we want to automate into an encoder. Currently we have our customers use Flash Media Live Encoder and copy/paste the values into the encoder, but would prefer a solution that is more tightly integrated with our site
Trying to make it so when you click anywhere on the flash file, it loads a specific website. It works when I go to File > Preview > Flash, but if I try and preview in html it doesn't navigate anywhere. My actionscript is:
Code: myButton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onMouseClick); function onMouseClick(e:MouseEvent):void {
I have a 90% all flash-site and when u click news webpage splits up in HTML blended with flash in a page called news.asp
(buttons are in flash and content in asp bellow)When loceted on news.asp and you click... let's say service you go back to index.html with the flash main.swf, but the link has ALSO have to go to label (service) or frame 30 lets say...
I purchased a flash website template and am in the process of editing my main.fla file. In order to get listed on an advertising website with a higher rating, I have to place a reciprocal link to them on my site. However, I cannot figure out how to place an html link/banner on my site for other businesses. If I paste the html code in a text box, all that shows up is the html code rather than the image and link it is meant to generate.
My client is complaining that the site that will be hosting her banner is refusing to add the forwarding link to her banner (that upon clicking will redirect to her website). I'd like to know how I can add this function to the Flash CS5 banner I have designed. Also, I have a clicktag on my banner if that makes a difference.
The following code is okay as it works fine and opens the Projects.pdf file in same window. But the problem is when I use browser back button, it takes me to home page instead of Projects page.[code]...
There is a webpage based on PHP which use a swf flash file. inside .swf flash file there is a link connection to a website like [URL] How can i write a code for preventing it to connect to something.com from inside PHP file?
I am trying to setup a link for users to download a PDF from my site. Does anyone know if there is a way to force a download dialogue box, instead of having the PDF open in a new window. I've been using the GetURL to do this. I have looked everywhere, and only found this: [URL] But when I try to do it, there are errors, and its way above me to fix. I'm trying to do this because for some very weird reason, when it opens now in the new window, Acrobat just crashes (no clue why, but it does on all computers -- I've tested on 5).
I have recently launched a site for a client which includes an interactive flash element on the home page but it takes a long time to load (10-30seconds). I have followed advice from others about keeping image small and link movies rather than embed but still slow, the swf file is about 7.9mb which i thought was ok for the size of flash file. Does anyway else know where I have gone wrong whether it be the embedding or some other area.
I have a .wmv (or .avi, .mp4... ect... ) file that I want someone to be able to download to their computer by clicking a button. NOT open the file in a new window or tab... but actaully bring up a "save or open" window.
I am creating a website to allow users to download a selection of soundfiles. What I'm wondering is how I can create a link in ActionScript 3 which downloads a specified file to the users machine - giving them control over the download location along the way.
The http:[url].... has an incredibly slow search functionality. I use a greasemonkey search plugin that is much much faster and works with the standard style javadocs. Anyone have a link to the old version of the AS3 API docs that were of the standard style?
