My client is complaining that the site that will be hosting her banner is refusing to add the forwarding link to her banner (that upon clicking will redirect to her website). I'd like to know how I can add this function to the Flash CS5 banner I have designed. Also, I have a clicktag on my banner if that makes a difference.

I purchased a flash website template and am in the process of editing my main.fla file. In order to get listed on an advertising website with a higher rating, I have to place a reciprocal link to them on my site. However, I cannot figure out how to place an html link/banner on my site for other businesses. If I paste the html code in a text box, all that shows up is the html code rather than the image and link it is meant to generate.

AND GETTING THIS ERROR MESSAGE:
1084: syntax error: expection rightparen before self.
We have a Flash banner on the home page and each slide has a link to some other page. Everything works fine, exept in IE.
Basically what happens is that if you click on the banner the first time, the link will work fine and bring you to the new page. However, if you go back to the home page again, then the banner does not even present a link anymore (it will still work fine as far as the banner rotation is concerned - just no more links)..

View 7 RepliesI made a Flash banner ad that I want to put on my site for my client to view. In Flash, when I test it, everything works, button email link. I import it into the body of my DW html page, test it in DW...works. However, when I upload to my site, the button doesn't open an email link.

View 1 RepliesI have created a basic animation in Flash CS5 and I need to add a clickable URL link to it. I've tried a few tutorials that looked promising, but none of them solved my problem. I've tried a number of things including converting parts or all of the images to simple buttons or movies and linking them that way as well as typing in code for ActionScript 2 and 3, none of which were successful. The animation plays correctly when viewed in my browser, but when I click on it, the link does not work. I would prefer that the entire banner be clickable to take viewers to the linked website rather than using hyperlinked text. Also, when I open the Code Snippets window, it is empty, no matter what image or frame I've selected. Do I need to import code snippets from somewhere or am I simply going about things the wrong way?
View 4 RepliesI have a pretty simple flash banner(using flash cs4) that I want ot make clickable.I am assuming I have everything correct, because when I "test movie", everything works as expected.Now comes the odd part. When I export movie, the clickable portion no longer works. Along the same lines as soon as I save the .fla file, the "test movie" no longer works.I have recreated this about 10 times now and everytime the same result. now I have it open on my computer, because as soon as I save it will no longer work.
My actionscript(3.0) code is as follows:

I have recently launched a site for a client which includes an interactive flash element on the home page but it takes a long time to load (10-30seconds). I have followed advice from others about keeping image small and link movies rather than embed but still slow, the swf file is about 7.9mb which i thought was ok for the size of flash file. Does anyway else know where I have gone wrong whether it be the embedding or some other area.
View 5 RepliesI am having some difficulty creating a SWF file that had a FLV embedded that is completely clickable at any point during the video. Created a new Flash document and imported the video, using the "Progressive download" option. I have tried everything from adding layers with click instances (http://forums.adobe.com/message/256259#256259) to making a button the size of the video that is set at 0% alpha.Every time I either get the video playing that is not clickable or i get the flv icon flashing (no video) that is clickable, or I get the flv icon flashing and it is not clickable at all.I am using CS3 and just looking for a video banner ad.

how do I make 'link' clickable in the flash file?
I have got stuck on what seems to be a very simple task. I have an animated flash banner for the website, but I cannot make it clickable, so that visitors can click on any part of it, and be tranfered to another website page. I am quite new to Adobe Flash, I use CS4 to edit. I have tried making transparent rectangles,converting them to a Button type, inserting various codes, but all that I tried has no effect
View 9 RepliesI have created a flash website which contains a link to an outside website. When I click on the link, it takes me to that outside website in the same browser window. To go back to my website, I have to use the back arrow. I want to change the link to the outside website so that the link opens in a new window. Therefore, if somebody goes to the link, when they finish they can close the new link's window and the original window with my website will still remain, without losing both upon closing. What do I need to adjust in order to do this?

Previously for static image banners I have implemented on_click code behind or javascript to log the banner has been clicked back to a database and process the re-direction. I don't have much knowledge of flash other than I know that a flash program can handle on-click events of the program. I'm working on a website which has advert banners which link to external pages.I've recently added the ability to have flash banners, but am stuck on how to make the banners link without editing the flash file.
The idea is that clients wanting to advertise on the site send a flash advert which is then linked to their site through the CMS, however unless the client embeds the link into the flash file, or add a flashvar parameter which can then pull in the info from the database, the flash banner doesn't link as it's seems not to link being surrounded by an <a> tag.
This is probably a well known thing, but this is my first time doing flash adverts, so I'm coming to it from a completely novice position.Is this something than anyone creating a flash advert would know about and instinctively do or will it need to be instructed to the client before hand, or is there a way to get it to be a link through html?

I know actionscript 3.0 little.I used a movieclip (instance name: link_handler) over all content and set alpha to zero. My requirement is that, when a user Logs in, his name should be displayed in the Top of the site (in the Flash banner here) like "Welcome User". Is it possible ? I have the PHP file which displays username. All I need is that to merge it to the flash banner (through actionscript, isnt it ?)

When I export it in flash it works, and when I preview in the dreamweaver browser it still works. I do not know what I have done wrong. Is the coding in the server wrong for the flash?
