Professional :: Flash Banner Ad - Button Does Not Open Email Link
Jan 15, 2010
I made a Flash banner ad that I want to put on my site for my client to view. In Flash, when I test it, everything works, button email link. I import it into the body of my DW html page, test it in DW...works. However, when I upload to my site, the button doesn't open an email link.

i have a flash gallery .In this i need a email button ,when click on the mail button an email editor might be open ( outook ) with the currently selected image as its attachment .
I want to make a button, when clicked, open a blank email in outlook express to an email, with a subject.i take it you would use:[code] just wanted to show you what i meant! that was just a random stab.
here is the issue I am having: I have a button in my main movie and after it is pressed i want for it to open a pop up window right next to this button with some information in it. I have a email button so when you click on that button I want another window to open right next to this email button with my email address.
I've gotten a complaint from one operator that my banner won't open in a new tab. Indeed on their site it opens the link on self. Its fine on other sites tho.Btw I noticed all the banners on their site open in self. Including an old banner I did for them with the same [code]...
Im trying to link a flash banner but seem to be having trouble. I know I need to add the link within Flash on the button or actionscript of the button. I need help with the code. This is for linking a flash banner to a streaming service. I need to add this to the <head> tag: <SCRIPT language=javascriptsrc=" [URL] This is the code that would be used in normal HTML: <Ahref="javascript:callLTR='WECK';grptuner='';file ='';title='';ListenLive();"target=_self>Listen Live</A>
1.) I'm trying to put an email hyperlink in part of my text, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it. I tried the code snippets, click to go to web page but instead of an URL I typed "mailto:email@adobe.com" but when I tested it, nothing happened.
2.) How do I link to the other pages from within the website that I'm working on? Again, I'm a total newbie and I'm only familar with Dreamweaver.
3.) Lastly, how do I bold the typeface??? The text tool properties do not show any bold, italic, or underline icons, and the hotkey to bold is the break apart command.
4.) When I test my movie, how come I can't scroll down and see the footer area of the SWF??
My client is complaining that the site that will be hosting her banner is refusing to add the forwarding link to her banner (that upon clicking will redirect to her website). I'd like to know how I can add this function to the Flash CS5 banner I have designed. Also, I have a clicktag on my banner if that makes a difference.
We have a Flash banner on the home page and each slide has a link to some other page. Everything works fine, exept in IE.
Basically what happens is that if you click on the banner the first time, the link will work fine and bring you to the new page. However, if you go back to the home page again, then the banner does not even present a link anymore (it will still work fine as far as the banner rotation is concerned - just no more links)..
I work with 3d animation. Im have a problem with a personal website Im doing, I have a link in a button inside a flash movie to open a new window and play a youtube movie:
on (release) { var jscommand:String = "window.open('http://www.youtube.com/v/b0L4XLODhAA&hl=en&fs=1&','win','height=344,width=4 25,toolbar=no,scrollbars=yes');"; getURL("javascript:" + jscommand + " void(0);"); }
This works fine in Firefox but in IE it doesnt work, I then change the /v/ in the youtube link with /p.swf?video_id= and now I have the window open showing the small youtube thumbnail of my video but once a click play, nothing happens, I check it and is not loading anything.
How does one link a button to an email address? So in otherwords, once you click a button, your email application opens, ready to compose a message to the assigned address.
I have a website with to small icons one which takes you back to home and another that is an email icon.My website is set out so I have an Actions and labels script which is the top layer. Below this I have a layer containing my email button.The email button instance name is: email_btn.how to submit a form into an email, jut not how to make an email link .
Is it possible to create a button that pastes the current URL, or any specific url in an email message? And will this work once embedded in an html page? EX:To:Subject: Take a look at this portfolioBody: the url you want to send
I have a flash file on the homepage of my client's website. When you click "Enter", the new page opens in a new tab. I want it all to stay in the same tab. If you would like to view the entire code yourself to identify how I could solve this issue, the site is: [URL]- but if not then I will paste the code of the flash object below:
this is probably a simple issue, but i'm new to actionscript and am pulling my hair out trying to get this email button working. I have a simple button in flash 8 which I have labeled "email_btn." I am using actionscript 3.0 and in the actions layer I have this code:
I have created a basic animation in Flash CS5 and I need to add a clickable URL link to it. I've tried a few tutorials that looked promising, but none of them solved my problem. I've tried a number of things including converting parts or all of the images to simple buttons or movies and linking them that way as well as typing in code for ActionScript 2 and 3, none of which were successful. The animation plays correctly when viewed in my browser, but when I click on it, the link does not work. I would prefer that the entire banner be clickable to take viewers to the linked website rather than using hyperlinked text. Also, when I open the Code Snippets window, it is empty, no matter what image or frame I've selected. Do I need to import code snippets from somewhere or am I simply going about things the wrong way?
Is it possible to have a button in my movie, that opens Outlook so we can send a email? And when outlook is open the correct e mail address is already set? Do I need php, or asp, or can I do this plain simple?
I am testing a FLASH animation ad that has links to a website.When I click on the links, it opens firefox but it doesn't go to the link!I have added the links and the file names in the Adobe Flash Settings Manager, restarted several times, restarted in Safe Mode and it still does not work!I cannot find any information on this. My coworker also tried it and it does not work for him on IE on Windows.HOWEVER, If I have SAFARI open it works fine, and If I drag and drop the .swf file into either browser and then click on the links it goes to the web page.
This is an example of a problem I'm having with some fla files not testing. I posted this problem earlier this week but didn't know how to upload the file to the server to be looked at. This is the link to the file that I figured out how to upload
I need to export a flash animation that I have produced as an email banner and send the file to a client who will add it to their emails for advertising. I have tried exporting it as an animated gif and the quality looks terrible!I know that gif only supports 256 colours but am trying to give the client something user friendly that they can just attach to the bottom of their email. I think there is programs that you can use to export it at a higher quality?
My boss needs me to create flash button 125px x 125px. And when they click on the button it will open up to the company web page. Here is footage the would like to use for the button:

I have only done static banners using Flash. There is a difference between a Flash banner or button? I am still a novice and need to get this done by Friday.
I don't know if this is too much to ask but could someone give me a quick overview on how to create an email form that actually sends the information to my email? I have the form created, and I'll post the .fla file (I allow a laugh at my elementary flash movie. This is just a final project for an intro to flash class), and I understand I'll need the .asp file from GoDaddy setup on my hosted space.
Does anyone know how to make the URL open in the same window. I am using flash CS3, Is there anyone who can edit the script below to allow this. The instance name is Button6 var getnextpage5:URLRequest = new URLRequesthttp://www.yokubou.co.uk/digitalart.html");Button6.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,b5Click) ;function b5Click(event:MouseEvent):void{navigateToURL(getnextpage5);}
I am using the following script in Flash CS4 for a URL link[code]...
and I would like the link to open the new page in the same tab. In Safari it opens the link in a new window (when the default is to open links in the same tab). In IE it opens in a new tab, and also in Firefox (though in Firefox this is the default behaviour for me). Is there a way to override default settings and get the link to open in the same tab for all browsers?
I have a website with 4 main pages as listed in the menu. I have then created more pages that are not listed but that I want to be able to open by clicking a button on the page - eg click on ' privacy policy' and that page would open. My problem is I have tried every action script I can find to get this to work but it wont
