I have 2 websites both built entirely in flash.My problem is that I have created a button on 1 of the sites that has to link to a particular scene and frame within a different flash website.

I'm making a Flash website using Actionscript 3.0 and I'd like to feature a file for download, however the user will have to pay for said download. Ideally, I'd like just a "Download Now!" button on a certain page, then the user would be sent to PayPal and the downloading would commence.How do I set that, or something similar, up?

In order to get listed on an advertising website with a higher rating, I have to place a reciprocal link to them on my site. However, I cannot figure out how to place an html link/banner on my site for other businesses. If I paste the html code in a text box, all that shows up is the html code rather than the image and link it is meant to generate.

View 2 RepliesI made 3 movies, one of a street, one of the street to the left and one of the right.What I actually want to do is, to play the video of the middle street, stop it after 4 to 5 seconds and put text on where you can see the street left and text on where you can see the street right.
So if you'd click on the text left, the movie needs to play of the left street, the right with the right.
To make motion stops where the text is coming I'll put a jpeg of the end of the movies, that I also use as a pause of the movie.
I know you can make links into html files, but I'd rather have 1 swf file so there is no loading between 2 html files.I tried to use actionscript (however i dont really know any commands ) on text, but it says that the item cannot have a script on it.
I have recently launched a site for a client which includes an interactive flash element on the home page but it takes a long time to load (10-30seconds). I have followed advice from others about keeping image small and link movies rather than embed but still slow, the swf file is about 7.9mb which i thought was ok for the size of flash file. Does anyway else know where I have gone wrong whether it be the embedding or some other area.

To my disappointment there is a noticeable black flash between the different pages which makes the project basically useless. What is causing the black frame and is there a way to fix it? View 2 RepliesI have what I hope is a fairly straight forward question that I hope you can answer if you write code with a Mac or are at least familiar with the process on a Mac? The person I have been working with to create my photography website uses a PC. Here is the problem. I am trying to use my Mac in order to create frames so that I can add 5 more images to a portfolio that presently has 15 images.
The code is in an index.fla file. If I want to create a new frame in the index.fla, let's say LOAD CODE 381 and want to use the same text that is already present in LOAD CODE 380 but with a few edits, I have no trouble going to the Action-Movie Clip and finding LOAD CODE 380 in the left hand column. The problem is, on a Mac, how do I create frame LOAD CODE 381 and then how do I copy and paste the text from LOAD CODE 380 into LOAD CODE 381? It looks like on a PC one can open LOAD CODE 380 in the Action-Movie Clip, highlight the text then right click on the red rectangular box in the timeline. By doing so (on a PC) one sees a drop down menu that gives the option to "copy key frame". What is the equivalent of the "copy key frame" on a Mac? I can see where on the Mac you can go to Edit >copy. Is this the equivalent of "copy key frame" on a PC? If so, once I "copy" the text how do I create the new LOAD CODE 381 so that I can paste the text into the new frame?
I've got a nearly completed Flash site, but one of the buttons isn't working--sometimes. Run the .fla below, wait for the animation to stop, and click the "services" star. Two more stars appear: "design and production" and "editorial." If you click on "design and production" first, everything works fine. You can get to editorial and everywhere else. BUT if you click on "editorial" first (after clicking "services" but before clicking "design and production"), the "design and production" button doesn't work from there (the "editorial" label frames in the "inline_frame" movie clip). I've got several Actions keyframes in the "inline_frame" movie clip--I don't know if that's kosher or not.
View 3 Repliesam i publishing the movie incorrectly? It works great when I preview the flash file (cntrl+enter), but after I publish it and insert it into the html (in dreamweaver), the file shows up and animates perfectly, but when clicked, no link... It doesn't do anything

The website seems to be working great on my PC which is a high end computer but when I have tested it out on slower computers, the animations are really choppy and frame rate is dropped a lot.can you take a look at the website and suggest me ideas what could be the result of such frame rate dropping. The website doesn't use much animations in the background.

My client wants various photos to fade out in a "checkerboard" fashion, which I am doing via its own movie clip and adding in the appropriate area on the main timeline. However, when I add a blank keyframe on the following page to add a new movie clip (with the next set of pictures, the timeline starts playing through the entire website, not recognizing stop actions or frame labels.

I am new to Actionscript and am working with AS3 in Flash CS3 to produce a portfolio website. Basically I have my flash set up with a 3x3 grid (9 boxes about 450px by 450px each box) and each box will have info and basically be a page that will be displayed in the masked area I have made. I am trying to program an app that searches for a project but I have two issues.1st when I click the search button the project opens up my browser.2nd I want the value to return the url, so I can parse it and use it as an xml, so I can get specific tags in the return of my search.
a bit of background info: I once made an app for finding your horoscope in flash, which retrieved an xml file(from an rss feed) on click and went to the right div tag within the file. I am not sure if this is the same way for using a regular website, but when I inspect html pages it seems like the same format. I am hoping to get only the return values of the search and not the rest of the stuff around it, and have it show up in a box to scroll through.

I have created a flash website which contains a link to an outside website. When I click on the link, it takes me to that outside website in the same browser window. To go back to my website, I have to use the back arrow. I want to change the link to the outside website so that the link opens in a new window. Therefore, if somebody goes to the link, when they finish they can close the new link's window and the original window with my website will still remain, without losing both upon closing. What do I need to adjust in order to do this?
View 4 RepliesI am using Flash Cs4 and I want to open a website window with a button click, but I want the window to open seperately without closing the first webpage. When the button is clicked, I want the user to see both pages open and in order to navigate back to the original, have them click the open window of the page instead of using the back button. It would be perfect if the second window would open smaller than the original webpage, sort of minimized, so that they can still see the original pages content. I can use either actionscript 3, or actionscript 2. Whichever will acomplish the task. I am having the damdest time finding the correct code to do this. I have Flash Cs4, currently set to publish as actionscript3 with Flashplayer 10. I can change that to actionscript2 and Flashplayer 8 if anyone can give me the actionscript2 code to accomplish this task. Here is the code I am currently using to navigate to the second webpage, and yes I know it is currently actionscript 3, and this an actionscript 2 forum: Either code will work for me as long as it does the job.

It does open in a second window with no back button as I want, as long as I am testing the movie in Flash. When I publish it to the web on a server, you still have to use the back button to go back the original page which is not what I want.
