I want to create a basic GUI for a touchscreen panel running linux grml with fluxbox so I'm very restricted. The Gnash player is also available. Is there a way to call shell/bash commands inside a Flash file (swf)?I want to create a GUI to control the mplayer and volume with the touchscreen... View 6 RepliesI'm creating a whole website with one .fla file. I'll attach the flash file to a html page in dreamweaver and that'll be that. But something has occured to me and that is if anyone presses the refresh button, the whole site will jump to the frame just after the preloader. Which would be fine under a normal circumstance if the main page were on that frame but in this website there is a movieclip on that frame which forms into the main page on the frame after.
So how do get it to refresh onto the main page?

Trying to make it so when you click anywhere on the flash file, it loads a specific website. It works when I go to File > Preview > Flash, but if I try and preview in html it doesn't navigate anywhere. My actionscript is:

In order to get listed on an advertising website with a higher rating, I have to place a reciprocal link to them on my site. However, I cannot figure out how to place an html link/banner on my site for other businesses. If I paste the html code in a text box, all that shows up is the html code rather than the image and link it is meant to generate.

I've got a crossdomain.xml file which allows SWFs running on only a certain few domains to download resources from my domain. However, one simple way around this is for a user to download the SWF to their local machine, and run it there (i.e. by double-clicking on it within Windows Explorer, not by running through [url]... It seems that when this happens, the crossdomain.xml file is ignored.[code]...
Is it possible to do something on the server side to stop a locally running SWF to download from my site? I tried checking the referrer but this field often isn't populated.
I have a total of 11 buttons each named b1, b2, b3 etc. I used to have it so when the a button is clicked, the button was recognized as to which one it was through an array and string and switch statement (I will show you below). But now I have to introduce something in the middle and so I am not sure how to make it work any more.

View 2 RepliesI need to take a user from a html link to a specific anchor point in the Flash website... that's easy enough. But the problem then is that the site is blank until it has loaded the relevant section. There's a preloader at the start of the whole site, but if a person jumps right in, it appears that nothing's happening for a while -which doesn't look very good- then the page appears. Is there a way to take the user to the first frame so that the preloader does it's bit, and then use the flash vars command to check the link they had come from, and jump then to the relevant section?

I made a gallery with an XML file but the problem is that after viewing it on the web and modifying the XML I don't see any difference...it's like I never even modified it...I'm guessing it's because the browser reads the XML file from the cache...how can I make the flash movie read the XML from the web every time it loads?

is there a way to prevent that entire opening flash file from replaying again when visitors hit their own browser's 'back' button from the other pages, and just give them the last frame?
I have recently launched a site for a client which includes an interactive flash element on the home page but it takes a long time to load (10-30seconds). I have followed advice from others about keeping image small and link movies rather than embed but still slow, the swf file is about 7.9mb which i thought was ok for the size of flash file. Does anyway else know where I have gone wrong whether it be the embedding or some other area.

When running jfsl in flash command run it says it cannot find file:///C:/flash/FlashApplication1/FlashApplication1/FlashApplication1.as on line 7 (var doc = fl.openDocument(uri);) whereas it does exist at that location.I have looked at official doc on openDocument

I would like to use the rewind command inside a movie clip, with buttons or movie clips inside on the timeline with motion tween. this is reasonably straight forward.
But when i test the movie the buttons are not selectable as it is covered by the movieclip they are in.
How can i get these buttons to work within the movie clip. here is the code that goes on the first line of the actions layer. ( can be found in the kirupa tutorials).

I am working on a press section of a site and was wondering if this was possible? I have a texfield that loads in html formatted text for a notepad file. I have done this lots of times and put <a href=blah> on certain words within notepad to make them links to other pages.
For this one i would like to have the textfield with links, but when the user clicks a link, i want it to trigger something in flash (i.e. click here for more info sending a variable to my main as script that will bring up some other text etc).
if so how would i go about writing the link inside notepad? I'm thinking that i just need to know the code for combining the text links with something in flash as.
