The problem I'm facing is not with loading the content of the Movie Clip, (though I might experience issues with that later when I try to load dynamic swfs) because as for now I just have placeholders on frames.
What I want to know is why my red squares on the left navigation keep getting smaller as I repeat the MouseOver and MouseOut events. It doesn't seem that these squares follow the logic of the code the way I have written it. Some of the code was generated from a previous post with the help of contributors.
Now I have again hit a slight snag with coding the math properly. Initially when I tested the code it worked fine without any "shrinking" going on. However, now with more code added the red navigation squares don't bounce back to their original states, they just keep getting smaller.
Iam having an issue with a flash site. Keep in mind Im a complete noob in AS. So here's the problem.I have a website made in flash using AS3. Now im using the gallery made in a 3rd party software. Its 3d papervision stuff. It running fine when i publish. But when it gets online the gallery loads but its shrinks. I have tried all that I can but still no useHere's the code that I used.
import flash.display.MovieClip;
import flash.display.Loader;
import flash.net.URLRequest;
[code].....
The bug is where when I shrink a simple circle, it appears to have somehow been altered to the point where the curves are no longer completely circular. Object becomes jagged, then when I bring the the object back to its original shape using the scale tool there the shape is no long a perfect circle.
View 1 RepliesI made a gallery with an XML file but the problem is that after viewing it on the web and modifying the XML I don't see any difference...it's like I never even modified it...I'm guessing it's because the browser reads the XML file from the cache...how can I make the flash movie read the XML from the web every time it loads?
View 4 Repliesas you first get to this website, a neat little :10 swf plays. right now, i have a 'home' and a 'back' button on all the pages linked to a static screenprint of where my neat opening .swf ends.
is there a way to prevent that entire opening flash file from replaying again when visitors hit their own browser's 'back' button from the other pages, and just give them the last frame?
There is a webpage based on PHP which use a swf flash file. inside .swf flash file there is a link connection to a website like [URL] How can i write a code for preventing it to connect to something.com from inside PHP file?
View 1 RepliesI am sending out a standalone player that uses an xml driven image gallery. I need to prevent changes to the xml file to stop images being added to the gallery. I can can password protect the xml file to prevent changes, but I also wondered if there was a way to validate the authenticity of the xml file from within Flash to prevent the entire file being replaced?
View 3 RepliesI have a small swf that loads 3-5 thumbnails using UILoader. When each thumbnail is clicked a scalex/scaley function is called to grow the images, in this function I also add a new listener to listener for a 2nd click which will shrink the thumbnail. This all works fine. The problem is that if a user clicks on a another thumbnail, I want to shrink any open thumbnails to avoid two being open at one time. This is working, but for some reason after the 'forced shrink" happens the image needs like two clicks to enlarge again. I attached the actionscript at the bottom.
ActionScript Code:
import flash.events.MouseEvent;
import fl.transitions.Tween; // import Tween animation class
import flash.display.MovieClip;

I have a movie clip with a dynamic text box inside of it. This box is 160 pixels wide and has a font size of 14.I am dynamically loading car names into this box. Something like "2006 Ford Taurus" just fits perfectly in there with the font I am using... another name, such as "2006 Ford Econoline" is too long and the text is cut off... I won't have anything much longer than about 25 characters, but I cannot go over the 160 pixels I have and I cannot multiline it... is there any way I can switch the text size, or "squish" the letters together so that everything will fit?
View 3 RepliesHow do i prevent users from downloading the flash file and use them on their own site? there must be some way..
If not, can I atleast prevent them from connecting to my php files?
If L be the original length of linear path (horizontal or vertical) traversed by an object, how can I make Flash change the length according to equation y = L/x where x is an dynamic value generated?
View 4 RepliesToday I tried deploying for the first time a swf movie into a new wordpress blog I am customizing. It looks great in Firefox, but for some reason, the object seems to shrink in Internet Explorer, and there is a strange white border around it. Since I have never placed a flash object in any of my pages before, I might not know what I did wrong, or if this is a common hacking problem. Check it out here: [URL] It is the picture menu in the top middle.. If you can check it in firefox and IE, you'll notice the dramatic difference. Also, I noticed in IE it doesn't allow rollOver functions until you click on the object.
Let me know if I should post any relevant code. The size of the swf is 500w-200h.. And i double checked the height/width i put in the html page.
I've implemented a PDF generation function in my flex app using alivePDF, and I'm wondering if the process I've used to get the file to the user creates an XSS vulnerability.This is the process I'm currently using:Create the PDF in the flex application.Send the binary PDF file to the server using a POST, along with the filename to deliver it as.An ASP.NET script on the server checks the filename to make sure it's valid, and then sends it back to the user as an HTTP attachment.

I want to modify an object's x position slowly (e.g. 4 pixels per frame) from actionscript. How do I go about doing this? It would be simple if AS3 had Sleep() and DoEvents() functions - are there equivalents?
View 4 RepliesI am creating a web page that allows users to upload their own swf files to my web page, which are then used by the main web page as components. This creates a security issue though because I don't want the uploaded swf files to access other files on the server.
when the main webpage starts, it loads whatever third party swf files the user specifies. Is there a way for my main web page to change the security settings of the loaded swf so that the loaded swf is treated like it was loaded from another domain? Or is there another way I can provent these uploaded swfs from accessing local files on the server.
I have a swf file that loads into my main movie, and within that swf there is a masked image that i would like to scale using zoom in and out buttons and also by using a slider bar.However i cant find any tutorials that will allow me to combine the two.I have used the following code for the buttons. Which seems to work ok but i would like it to be a little smoother. (using speed or some sort of easing??)
ActionScript Code:
zoomPlus.onRelease = function(zoomIn) {
if (test_shirt.shirt._xscale == 400 && test_shirt.shirt._yscale == 400) {[code]....
but for this code it keeps shrinking my initial object down to 10 pixels by 10 pixels..
How do I prevent my SWF from decompiling?
Is there any difference between ActionScript 1/2 and ActionScript 3 in the perspective of decompile prevention?
This is an opposite question of the following question:
How do you decompile a swf file? [URL]
I am loading an flv file from an s3 location. I want to prevent its hotlinking.
crossdomain.xml does not seem to work for flvs Anybody has nay idea, why crossdmain does not work? and what are the ways we can prevent other flash containers to extract the content from our location?
I have a problem when one B.swf file is loaded to another A.swf file.A.swf file size is 400x400.B.swf file size is 100x100.B file has a movie clip (MC) which is animated and position of this movie can be from Y:-100 to Y:200. B file is loaded into the center (X:150, Y:150) of the A file.When B file is loaded, then animation starts. I have a problem: I can see animated movie clip B out of B screen scope (for example: when B.swf file movie clip has _y = -100 I still can see that movie clip in A.swf). I am expecting that movie clip will not be shown if Y position becomes negative
View 1 RepliesI'm finding that in flash (10.x at least) and ie (7, 8, 9) that if I try to load an image url that contains escaped utf-8 characters (p%C3%83%C2%A5) that the characters get decoded before it makes the url request, even if I double or triple encode them. Is there any way to prevent this so the url (with escapes) the way I want it is actually what is requested?
The problem its causing is we give a http status of 301 on utf-8 decoded url requests to the encoded url which flash then tries to request (but ie decodes it again) and I get stuck in an infinite loop because of the 301 + ie auto-decoding.
EDIT, adding code sample:
var url:URLRequest = new URLRequest('http://mydomain.com/p%C3%A5.jpg');
var loader:Loader = new Loader();
loader.load(url);
Now I want the request to go over the line as [URL] (and it does in other browsers), but in IE it goes over the line as [URL]
EDIT: replacing % with %25 (double encoding the %) but that didn't work, it just caused this request to go over the wire: [URL]
When Im loading an xml document, it's as if flash caches this document, and uses that cached version all the way (disregarding how many times I open and close the app) ... well, that's so until I open the xml file inside the browser (IE) and ctrl-F5 to refresh; that's when flash starts getting the updated xml. What's up with that? Is there a way to prevent flash from caching??
View 2 Replieshow I can prevent flash from reloading when my page is refreshed? When I user clicks the search button the whole page reloads with the data they were looking for but the flash animation at the top of the page also reloads and I would like to prevent this.
View 9 RepliesI know extremely little about Flash, and have been sent a completed SWF file, which I have inserted into my webpage with the code below.The problem is that it starts playing automatically. Is there some way that I can add a parameter to the code below so that the video doesn't start automatically, or will the SWF file need to be re-created?

I have a web page where users can play flash games. We are now making some changes to the page which requires the games to be embedded with wmode=transparent or wmode=opaque so that we can show HTML elements on-top of the flash games. The problem is that in Internet Explorer (on all versions) the whole page scrolls if a user presses the up/down arrow keys. I've tried everything I can think of and I've spent a whole day searching for a solution without success.o far I've tried putting the game inside a iframe and I tried disabling the up/down keys with JS, none of which solves my problem.
View 4 RepliesI have multiplayer flash game (AS3) and I would like to prevent multiboxing, e.g. prevent user running two (or more) instances of my game at one computer. Is there simple and reliable way how to do that? I don't want to filter them based on IP address.
I tried to use LocalConnection, but it was unreliable. It worked most of the time but for some reason it failed sometimes.
Then I tried to use SharedObject to write random value to it and than check for change in periodic interval. Idea is that when second instance starts, it will overwrite previous value and check in first instance will fail.
public function MultiboxPreventer(callback:Function)
{
uniqueKey = Math.random() * uint.MAX_VALUE;
so = SharedObject.getLocal("prefs");

Is it possible the JS object object doesn't exist when the flash calls? Here is all the source and the issue ticket for the SWF project this is happening on: http:[url]....
PS - I have the swf mp3 player working with some custom JS that removes the need for the swf to call the JS, but I'd love to understand why IE9 does this while the other browsers work as expected.
I need to suppress the default right click menu for flash embeds.
I've set menu to false, as well as used a stop default function on the right click event, but it still displays the menu.
Also, I don't have access to the .fla's, as the flash objects weren't created by me.
I don't want to resort to frames so I'm wondering if this is possible. I have an expanding menu on a php page, when user clicks on one of the menu items and the page reloads, the flash movie gets reload as well. I would like to keep it open to where it was, even if it reloads.
I'm using a modified version of Senoculars accordion menu and I thought the best way would be to pass a variable to the flash movie that tells it which menu the user clicked and so expand that menu.
