Flex :: Prevent A Locally-running SWF (AS3) From Downloading From My Website?
Jan 9, 2011
I've got a crossdomain.xml file which allows SWFs running on only a certain few domains to download resources from my domain. However, one simple way around this is for a user to download the SWF to their local machine, and run it there (i.e. by double-clicking on it within Windows Explorer, not by running through [url]... It seems that when this happens, the crossdomain.xml file is ignored.[code]...
Is it possible to do something on the server side to stop a locally running SWF to download from my site? I tried checking the referrer but this field often isn't populated.
I want a user running a Flash game on his machine (not from a server) to be able to save some game data locally. From what I've read, there still isn't any way to do this, but I thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone knows a sneaky xml or php work around.
I'm new to AS & Flash, but not programming in general. I've got a project where I'm needing to use embedded fonts. To save the size of my main .swf, I've been using the Loader class to import .swf files with the fonts embedded at runtime. The "font library" .swf files contain just the embedded font, and in frame 1 have
I'm working in an audio player. I'm looking for a way to prevent users download the mp3 files by following the file url ( for example: by using the Firebug o similar).

I'm working on a project which will be embeded locally, and im in need of a solution to make a pop up swf that loads upon click of a button from another swf.
All the solutions i can find work for uploading to the web...however dont work locally.
So im guessing im looking for something along the lines of "onclick load swf _blank".
I am running my swf file through a browser on the local machine (i.e. C Drive). I want to have a link to download the Adobe Reader however when I click on the link that is setup with navigateToURL(), I get a Flash Player Security Error stating that it is unsafe to acess the Internet and to update the player options allowing it to happen. I have went to the player options and put the URL's in there that I am trying to get to with no success.
I searched everywhere for a peice of code to prevent a web page from loading when it is not on a server. Finally found this one and I swear it was working last night.Am I placing the function in the wrong place?I have everything in 2 framesif the flash swf is currently running on the propper server it should skip to frame 2 and if it is running on a computer or the wrong server it should stay at frame 1.[code]
I created a website with Flash Professional CS5, ActionScript 3.0, I would like to add the functionality to a button so that it downloads a .pdf file into the user computer, so he can print it. What code should I give the button? and where and how should I place the .pdf file.
For a game (using AIR for iOS) I want to prevent the GC from running during a specific 30 seconds sequence (because it causes very notable lags). What I already do is calling System.gc() right before the sequence starts. During the sequence, i don't create many new objects and only some animations play and objects move (in 3D). some of the objects move out of the stage.
[Code]...
When the GC fires, the System.privateMemory drops to 74 MB, but causes a lag of aproximately one second. The GC fires twice during this 30 second sequence.
So my question is about any techniques, hacks or workarrounds (other than optimizing the memory usage in general - obviously i'm already working on that) to prevent the GC from firing during this 30 seconds?
Does anyone know why my flash site displays a white screen before the loader actually works? It kind of defeats the purpose of having a loader. I'm not familiar with xml either so could this be an issue? My swf file is only 2.2 MB
I've written a videoplayer for Android based on Flash (10.2) which plays videostreams. In some cases (*), the player begins to buffer for quite some time. Now, while the player is acually playing the stream, Flash (somehow) signals the OS to prevent entering the sleep-mode. But while buffering, this is not the case and the phone will eventually enter sleep mode before the stream has restarted. So the user has to unlock the phone again - not very convenient. Is there a way to set a signal with Flash/AS3 to prevent the Andoid-phone to go into sleep mode? (*) mostly over the mobile network when the network access performes a handover between 3G and 2G or vice versa
When I use: on (release){ this.stop(); getURL("page.html", "_blank"); } Why is it that when that new page window is loaded the background flash window then runs my on (rollOut){ this.play(); } function? I am trying to pause the timeline I am clicking from in Flash. If I take this line out (this.play() it pauses, but if I were to go that way how would I start getting my MC to play again when the user gets back to the flash window?
I downloaded a XML based website flash template and made some modifications to it. With this template there was few fonts included in separate folder (I had to install them to view swf and edit fla correctly) after all my mods done I published it to swf file and opened local file with browser, everything was working perfectly at this moment. Then I asked my friend if it could upload it on his server to check if this website looks the same on the web. I noticed that text (which is written with custom font that was included) is either missing or misplaced
editing my website a friend bult for me in flash..i have flash cs4 when i import to library all i seem to get are lots of symbols a few gifs and my video file , and the main swf ...trouble is seem to be unable to edit any of it .... i need to update a picture and add some text to it ..
just tought i would add... i downloaded the contents of my my website via dreamweaver to a folder on my drive then imported into flash
I am working on my first Flash website for my photography, and along with placing watermarks on my images, I want to disable the users ability to "Right Click", and other saving options.
(By the way, I do not know if this matters but I am using "Adobe Flash CS5", on a Mac, running the most up-to-date version of "Snow Leopard". Also, I assume in-order to disable "Right Click" and other saving/downloading features I would have to enter some code; Can you either post the code, or put the website where I can get it?)
I'm creating a whole website with one .fla file. I'll attach the flash file to a html page in dreamweaver and that'll be that. But something has occured to me and that is if anyone presses the refresh button, the whole site will jump to the frame just after the preloader. Which would be fine under a normal circumstance if the main page were on that frame but in this website there is a movieclip on that frame which forms into the main page on the frame after.
There is a webpage based on PHP which use a swf flash file. inside .swf flash file there is a link connection to a website like [URL] How can i write a code for preventing it to connect to something.com from inside PHP file?
I have found little to no flash to C++ documentation, let alone Flash to C++ over the internet. What I want to do: -Have flash send a string (or number) from a website to a server running a C++ program -The C++ program will receive the data and do something with it -After that, the C++ program would send back a response -Flash would then accept the response My goal is to make a simple MMO, but I can't start it without a server program to handle the players. I don't need a super-complicated example, just something simple, kinda secure and coded in AS3 and C++.
I'm trying to post data up to a server and have it bounced back to me as a file download, prompting the native browser file download box. I know the server part works just fine becasue I can post from a demo web form, but when I run the following Flex 3 code, I can't even get the request to fire.
var fileRef:FileReference = new FileReference(); private function saveXmlAsFile(event:MouseEvent):void {
Is there a way to download some files directly to the user disk, without browsing? (assuming they give permission of course).FileReference does this, but does not allow to directly save files to the hard disk (if not through browsing).
I have one xml link. that link have collections of images(apx 1000 images). when i flex applications start at the time load all images in locally. then when i need that images then use it. How i do this... give me some links and logic.
