Flash :: Professional - Website Keeping Image Small And Link Movies Rather Than Embed But Still Slow

I have recently launched a site for a client which includes an interactive flash element on the home page but it takes a long time to load (10-30seconds). I have followed advice from others about keeping image small and link movies rather than embed but still slow, the swf file is about 7.9mb which i thought was ok for the size of flash file. Does anyway else know where I have gone wrong whether it be the embedding or some other area.

I am building a website entirely out of flash. I know thats not a great idea, but it is not the biggest website in the world, however it does contain seven or eight .sws that take some time to load.When I test the website via a cable connection (T1), the speed of opening the website is not bad, but on DSL pretty slow.I dot want to turn people away from my site how can I make sure my flash site doest load that slow? Ie read somewhere that if you put all the .Ss into one master file it could make the site load faster.seen some flash websites that are big and their files load

I want to be able to record 5-30 sec "green screen" segments on my video camera, extract them from the background, save it as DECENT QUALITY flash that can be embedded in my company website (small motorcycle dealership in Sweden) so that I can reach my customers in a better way. I have seen a website that does this and truly want to learn it. I am willing to buy whatever software is necessary.

I'm developing a little site for a friend. Though the filesize is v. small and it seems to load quickly, there is a delay playing. There are many objects duplicated in AS so undoubtedly this is the problem, but is there any way of initializing them so that the delay is slower? I'm using flash cs3.

My client is complaining that the site that will be hosting her banner is refusing to add the forwarding link to her banner (that upon clicking will redirect to her website). I'd like to know how I can add this function to the Flash CS5 banner I have designed. Also, I have a clicktag on my banner if that makes a difference.

Tip#1: Some flash movies (mostly those with motion tweens) run slow in Firefox on some computers. To avoid this issue, do not use plug-ins perhaps provided by third-parties or drag and drop HTML programs. Just add the HTML page and flash file in your website's directory.

I need to first express that I'm a fully self-taught Flash designer. No one has ever sat down and tried to explain to me the DOs and DONTs about Flash. I have followed tutorials, books, and anything else I can get my hands on, but never a person. People of Flash seem to be very hard to find, in my personal experience.I am the most comfortable with Photoshop, knowing very little about Illustrator or Fireworks.That said, I have been asked to create a 45KB (yikes!) max file, rotating 3 .jpg images I created from other .jpgs given to me. The images are usually large, so I am given room to compress them for a 300px x 250 px stage.
However, these images are always my biggest culprit for my huge file size. I'll import them in, making them into Graphic Symbols, but nothing seems to prevent the enourmous file size.When given the raw images, I would throw them into Photoshop, make the files the correct 300x250 size. Then I have tried: saving the image at the best resolution in .jpg and .png form, and then I tried saving the images as low-as-I-could-stomach quality. I hardly see a difference with file size when they are imported into Flash and used.I was told to use Fireworks's Optimize function, which I did, but it made my .swf even biggerWhen I have my Flash piece all set up/animted as I want, but I need to replace the bitmap(.jpg/.png) photos, I will:right click on the bitmap to get properties, "upload" the new image to be used, adjust the Quality, having "Allow smoothing" unclicked.
I understand I should make as much of the graphics in Flash as I can, instead of Import, but I am primarily given photographs to use.Seeing what my previous peers have done is mind-puzzling, but they are not around, so I cannot ask them for their advice. We have recently made a new Flash website for our company (URL...). The Flash module itself is 800 pixels tall. We have CSS that centers a div horizontally and vertically that's wrapped around the Flash module (you can see the source of URL...) and when someone is on a browser on a netbook or a smaller laptop (sub 15-inch, generally), they don't have enough vertical resolution (after the real estate used by the Windows start bar and browser toolbars) to see the entire site.Whether you view the html page I've made (again, at URL...) or you view the Flash module itself (URL...) the top of the Flash module clips off the top of the browser. (To see the problem if you don't have a small laptop, just don't maximize your browser window and shrink it's vertical height.)I understand why my CSS is behaving the way it is, due to the nature of the negative top margin, but is there any way to solve this issue?

how to keep track of loaded MCs? I have a navigation system loading content MCs. The problem is, when I choose another nav button, I want it to (onPress) figure which clip is currently loaded then gotoAndPlay a frame label in that clip, which will play an exit animation and load the content area corresponding to the newly pressed button.
Someone on Flashkit suggested having the loaded content MC send a variable to the main time line to act as a kind of flag to say which section is active but I'm not sure how to go about doing this.

Im making a game in which you controll some gattling AA guns..you start of with one and can later buy more...the gattling gun itself consist of 3 different movie clips and 1 text box (dynamic)WHen you buy more gattling guns later on , i just want to duplicate the original gattlinggun and let you place it anywere on the ground you want...
Firing is all good and dandy, each gun aims at mouse cursor and spews out bullets.. but for added realism ive made it so that each gun Can Jam (short delay befre can fire again)this does not work however because (as far as i can tell) what happens in 1 movie also happens in the others, so if 1 jams(the dynamic text box changes to JAM) all turrets get JAM in them(sticky i know)... now i want to know how do i make each movie completly separate , so they do not inherit properties from eachother...

I have created a flash website which contains a link to an outside website. When I click on the link, it takes me to that outside website in the same browser window. To go back to my website, I have to use the back arrow. I want to change the link to the outside website so that the link opens in a new window. Therefore, if somebody goes to the link, when they finish they can close the new link's window and the original window with my website will still remain, without losing both upon closing. What do I need to adjust in order to do this?

I am developing a website in flash. In that I have created 4 to 5 timers. All the timers are running at a same time or many aspects.
Now my problem is, the functions or any movements based on the timer, is very slow. Where as when I put that timer in a separate file, the movements are faster.
Now I need all the timer should be faster at the same time, like I see the same speed in the separate file.

when the mouse rolls over an image, text appears (in a small rectangle) and it moves with the mouse, only while it is still over the image.

It's pretty common on many Architectural and Engineering sites to have a small movie on the home page. For example: URL... I've made similar movies for my websites using flash, and there always seems to be a lag and an image icon while the movie to loads. Here is a site where the movie loads unnoticeably: hensonarchitect com. Is there a way to use flash and have the movie load without an image icon placeholder? The flash movie that I have in mind is only 90kb, so a preloader isn't needed.

I'm looking for a way to have an .mp3 file play in a website without relying on a flash-based player. I've searched w3 schools and every forum I can think of, but every media player I've found so far has been some sort of proprietary flash player.
Doesn't HTML support some sort of native player? I've found some that rely on Windows Media Player which is close, but I want the player to work on an iPhone and something tells me WMP won't get that done.

I am displaying a photo from an external link when called upon from my swf. When the user clicks a button, up pops a corresponding photo in a new browser window. After the photo window has opened, if the user clicks another button the photo browser will update but its no longer in front. I know I need to use the focus() command but cannot figure how to incorporate it into my AS3 code.[code]....

i,m developing a HTML site and used one animated flash button(AS2) I want a small sized window to open when a user clicks on a button. The window will contain information that i want to display.It dosnt require a normal 800x600 window to open. I just want a 1/4 size of 800x600 etc.
