ActionScript 2.0 :: OnPress Doesn't Work If The Mouse Button Is Pressed Again But The Mouse Is Not Moved?

I have a very simple piece of code but it has one very annoying bug. When I press the button a second time, the code doesn't work. The only way to get the code to work is by moving the mouse a tiny bit, or moving the mouse off the button and back on. make a button that can be clicked many times without moving the mouse?

These issues only appear on Safari and Firefox on Mac.I tested with Opera and Chrome and Windows (inc. IE), but they work fine.

my problem is that I have in main timeline movie1, who have movie2 in side, and movie2 have movie3 inside it. in movie3 is buttons like in the tutorial. so i try to replace _root with _level2 but doesn't work on mouse button AS.

The page transition work fine after Respected tacos " changed the code but while transition between the pages if I quickly move the mouse and clicked the other button the pages do not load as expected.I tested several times and with lower frame rates this problem can be watched.

I'm listening for MOUSE_MOVE events.They are sent and received just fine unless the middle mouse button is held down. I don't get any more MOUSE_MOVE events until the middle button is released.Is this an issue with Flash, or something to do with my specific ouse/computer configuration (bluetooth Mighty Mouse on Lion)?Are there any known workarounds?Here is a sample project to demonstrate the problem.Left click and drag traces mouse move events, but middle click only shows middle mouse down and middle mouse up.

I am trying to capture mouse events in flash while the mouse is being held down. The intention is to keep reciving events as long as the mouse is pressed, even if the cursor leaves the flash element. That's the behavior I get on all browsers other than IE, which only fires events while the cursor is inside the stage.
I'm pretty sure I've seen such "well behaved" flash applets work in IE before.

I have a MovieClip with two buttons inside of it (bottom portion) When I mouse over the MovieClip - it rises up, to revewl the buttons. My problem is, when I mouse over the buttons, the movie clip drops back down. The buttons don't have any actions upplied to them... It acts as though buttons were standing between the cursor and the movie clip... The idea is to hower over the movie clip > reveal the buttons > either move mouse away or click on one of the buttons. However, the movie clip closes when I touch either one of the buttons. Below is the code and thnks a bunch ahead of time:

I created flash buttons for a website and imported them into dreamweaver, put the site up and everythings working finee, EXCEPT, the mouse down feature of my button doesn't play all the way unless you hole down the mouse button. My mouse over feature works fine.

So I did a tutorial on advanced buttons and I followed them to the "T" and I got the point where I am to hit CTL-Enter and it opens up into a small view window but when I run my mouse over the button the action doesn't ocure. Everything else works exactly like it's supose to except that.

Is it possible to persist the look of a 'hovered' hyperlink even after the mouse has moved away from it? I want to keep the user's attention on the hyperlink -- or at least have them able to see what it was, standing out from the rest of the text -- for a few seconds after they've left it. I have a simple flight simulator animation. When the mouse is moved over a movieclip (mcHitArea) on the stage the code below moves 2 indicator lines as well as 2 jet images and the background. The problem is that when the mouse runs off, say, the left side of mcHitArea, that mouse location is recorded. Then if the mouse is brought back in from the other side of mcHitArea the images are rotated way off course. These images never come back to center.

I'm experiencing an annoying issue with a movie clip button. The movie clip is linked to a class which adds a rollover and rollout effect. The issue I'm having is that, even though the button is in frame 1, the button doesn't react to the mouse for some seconds into the movie. I have three buttons on screen that navigate to different places on the timeline. I have set them all up as buttons using a generic button in the library and then given them all different instance names. I selected the button and changed the text colour for each state in the timeline (up, over, down) to keep it simple. The buttons are all, as far as I can analyse, identical in all but instance name.
When I test the movie, the first button changes text colour on 'over' and, when I click (i.e. down state) the colour changes again as designed. The navigation action doesn't occur until I release the mouse button, giving the feel of having 'clicked' the button.
With the other two buttons, which have been set up as far as I can tell in exactly the same way, when the down state occurs, I see a momentary flash of the text colour change and it performs the nav straight away. I really want it to perform the same way as the first button but cannot for the life of me see why they're behaving differently.

I would like to make a portion of a site that is stimulated from the mouse being moved. So, as the user moves their mouse I want the timeline to change (for an image will load on each new timeline). So, it will be kind of like a flip book that is activated by the mouse moving. Hopefully that makes sense. Each scene a person will be moving (new picture in a new frame) as the mouse moves up or down.

My flash piece is not responding when I mouse over it, unless I hold down the mouse button while I do it. It's as if the flash object is actively surrendering focus unless I hold down the mouse button or something.
