Apr 28, 2011I've been trying to build some GUI for a level editor using Yahoo's ASTRA Flash Components using the FlashDevelop IDE. After finally including all the "Global Classpaths", I managed to almost get it to compile apart from one Warning that causes the build to fail.

Flash :: Yahoo Astra Component Error BaseScrollPane Not Found?
Jan 8, 2010I'm trying to use the Astra library from Yahoo but I'm getting an error saying the base class BaseScrollPane is not found. It appears to be imported from fl.containers.BaseScrollPane, which leads me to believe it should be a part of the base flash 10 library and therefore should be available, but it appears to be missing. Is this part of a separate package from somewhere?
Update: For what it's worth, I found the actual class files in the Configuration/Component Source folder on my hard drive, but adding that to the class path (as well as the Components directory) did no good. I ended up fixing the issue by dragging a scroll pane component to the stage from the Components window and then deleting it, but I'm not sure what exactly that action changed that made it work, and would like to know for future reference.

Nov 14, 2010So yahoo astra has grate compohent for saving inputed data. They show examples of how to use it. But I had not found one capable to solve my current problem. For example user inputed his name. It is saved, but when he comes again he always needs to input at least first latter of his name. so I wonder - how to make Yahoo astra autocompletemanager component to pop up last inputed into it value on application creation complete?

IE Showing Wrong Background Colour?
Oct 2, 2007I made a website a year back or so and I'm having to update it now. However I've noticed the flash menu I have on the site doesn't seem to appear correctly anymore when I check in on a PC using IE.
Basically in the bottom left hand corner the swf background colour should appear grey (#333333) not white. Seems to work fine on Safari and Firefox.

Is there a way to set the background colour of a flash movie according to a value pulled from an XML file?I already have the background colour property set as BGCOLOUR within my XML file, and I've used the code in line six to pull that value through (I think)...

Feb 22, 2006I finaly got the code I needed to change the colour of my background but it clearly needs altering. At the moment it works but I have to click the button twice for the colour to change. Now for once I see that this makes sense because I have onRelease twice!
This code is on the button:

However i'm unsure how to alter the code correctly....I assume the second onRelease needs to change to something else? I tried just: home_btn = function() { but am really just guessing.

Feb 23, 2010I'm trying to set the background of a createTextField(), BUT only for the lines, not the whole box.
If I use background and backgroundColor, it sets the whole text box bg to be white, but I only want the lines filled in.
For example, if you 'select' the text on an HTML page, only the lines are highlighted. Can this be done in Flash?
I'm using CS3 AS2.

Sep 14, 2010Basically I've created a print class which has all the print job code in to print a sprite, however when I print it, the sprite which I've created acts like a mask and the area where the sprite graphic should be is filled with my background colour.When I scale the image to the width and height of the print width and height, obviously I've got a page full of purple.here's my code:

If you look closely you'll see that I've changed the default value for the bgFill color. However, when I run my application, the background color for the dropdownlist is still the default white.

Jan 23, 2010Anyway for some reason when i test scene the box comes up showing my flash fine but when i go and locate the .SWF in the folder that all my flash fla and swfs are then for some reason its only a graphic clip and movieclip animation that displays and the rest of the background is the background colour. I checked this by first changing it to black and preview. To which the background changed black and then did the same and changed the background colour to blue and the same thing happened, the background in the swf changed to blue aswell. I have no actionscript in the scene and the majority of the things are just art besides a graphic clip the movie clip animation.

Feb 11, 2010I've created a banner ad (attached) for my company and intended to have it appear as a rectangle with rounded edges (transparent corners). It seems like I need to create a transparent border or mask to have my animated banner appear in this way.
Can I add a mask or a border to the whole thing just to make the rounded corners transparent and see the background colour of the site I'm putting it on?
Note: the corners are currently white. I can't change the colour to match the site background as 1. the banner will be shown in different places, and 2. the background is a gradient.
