how to change the background colour of a flash slide-show. I am trying to post a slide-show on a website, but some of the pictures do not fit the box well and, as a result, there are black bars surround them. Is there a way that I can change the background colour so that it blends with the background colour of the website?
View 1 RepliesWhen I changed hosting from the companies hosting to my own personal GoDaddy hosting everything went right, except for 2 flash slide shows (Simple rotating images). They just apear as clear boxes now. You can see what I am talking about here: [URL] and here [URL] . You will notice the empty large empty box on the right in both pages. When you right click on it the browser recognizes that it is flash. On the Piza site I tried taking out the original code and entering the flash object via Dreamweaver CS5, but that yeilded the same results (I only mention this because the code on that site will thus look a bit different).
View 3 RepliesI've created a banner ad (attached) for my company and intended to have it appear as a rectangle with rounded edges (transparent corners). It seems like I need to create a transparent border or mask to have my animated banner appear in this way.
Can I add a mask or a border to the whole thing just to make the rounded corners transparent and see the background colour of the site I'm putting it on?
Note: the corners are currently white. I can't change the colour to match the site background as 1. the banner will be shown in different places, and 2. the background is a gradient.
I have an image slide show that was created in Flash CS3 with a fade transition. I want to slow down the slide show so the pictures display longer. Is there an easier way to change the speed of the slide show other than dragging each frame on the time line?I dragged each frame 20 frames longer and it's not working for me. It seems as though some images display much longer than other.

I am a complete beginner and have no idea where to start this, hence i would need to know what to do and how to do it. I basically want the image to be a simple 2d image that i will create using different layers in photoshop and import them into flash, the layer images will all be one colour so the colour of the whole layer changes. so the colour palette will be on the side of this and when i click on an image and then a colour the image changes to the colour i clicked.

I have the text portion complete and now want to add some of my own pictures into a slide show or gallery on a serperate page linked to my site. Is there a way to do so. have little experience using them. I thought I could insert the slide show directly into the template like an HTML page.My site is live now and it will give you a better understanding of what I want because I am pretty ignorant when trying to describe issues that I have.My goal would be to have a seperate page not linked to the bones buttons on the top, just a page that I have in my public html folder that are hyper linked to words in the website itself
View 1 RepliesI finaly got the code I needed to change the colour of my background but it clearly needs altering. At the moment it works but I have to click the button twice for the colour to change. Now for once I see that this makes sense because I have onRelease twice!
This code is on the button:

However i'm unsure how to alter the code correctly....I assume the second onRelease needs to change to something else? I tried just: home_btn = function() { but am really just guessing.
I got this code from Kax. This allows me to change colour of my background. This use to work on my movie but now is just not working anymore!Since i created a button loading a .swf file this has stopped working, Any suggestions anyone?[code]I understand that I have to replace "myMovieClip" with the name of my clip!

If you look closely you'll see that I've changed the default value for the bgFill color. However, when I run my application, the background color for the dropdownlist is still the default white.

View 5 RepliesI am using currentSlide.gotoNextSlide to change between slides, however I can't make it stop playback on load of each slide.I have a motion tween with I need to NOT play automatically when the slide loads... but no matter how many iterations of stop(), gotoAndStop(), etc I use, nothing will stop the clip from playing when it is loaded!

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to create a flash website where when you click on one page the background becomes darker and as you're about to click on another page the background becomes lighter again but if you want to go back to the previous page the background goes back to being darker. I hope this is clear. I've been trying to find a tutorial on this but I'm not sure if I'm using the correct terms, which is why I'm having no luck.
View 6 RepliesI'm trying to make a slide-show that adjusts to the width or height of the stage, and eventually, of the web browser window. I was able to load and resize a picture by writing code on the timeline, but I got the Error #1009 (Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference) when I put this slide show into another movie clip loader (which chooses between different swf pages of the website, with the purpose of keeping the swf file sizes down). By the way, my "slide-show" loads the picture fine. When I use the movie clip loader to load this "slide-show" it works too. Only when I use the Flash Player to open it, it gives me the Error 1009. I looked around on actionscript.org, and everyone seems to be recommending the folowing code (or something like it):[code]
I also ran into some information about document classes and I figure maybe I should be using document classes to make this stuff more modular and reusable. So I put my slide-show code into an .as file, importing all the flash.xxx.* classes, and put it in a package and class and constructor function... in the same directory as my swf file, and set it as the document class to a blank fla file. Then I tested it and all I got was a blank swf. This is without the Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE code. I guess I don't know how to get the document class thingy working either. So my question is, can someone tell me how I can change my slide-show code into a working document class without the Error 1009?r?[code]

I am aware of some web sites like slide.com but they seem to include ads which I don't want on a professional site. how one goes about changing the colour on the volume bar for playing videos like youtube does as the volume slider is moving. I don't think I need to go into depth using the graphics classes. What I'm looking for are ideas when a user changes the volume while playing a video, say in youtube, while dragging the volume control, the colour of the background bar changes. I've seen lots of help about creating volume bars for videos, but I don't see how to change the volume bar colour as the volume slider is moving.
