Professional :: Change Colour On Volume Bar When Moving Slider For Video?

how one goes about changing the colour on the volume bar for playing videos like youtube does as the volume slider is moving. I don't think I need to go into depth using the graphics classes. What I'm looking for are ideas when a user changes the volume while playing a video, say in youtube, while dragging the volume control, the colour of the background bar changes. I've seen lots of help about creating volume bars for videos, but I don't see how to change the volume bar colour as the volume slider is moving.

I've created a small music player with a sliding volume control. I'm having trouble with the volume. Though it does control volume properly, if I set the initial volume to less than 100%, the volume always starts at 100% until I move my mouse over the player. At that point, the volume changes to whatever the initial volume is set to.Is this a flash bug, or am I missing something? Here is the affected code (code for other buttons/functions omitted for brevity):

I'd like to be able to set the volume at say 50%, but the above mentioned behavior happens each time.

I am trying to use the slider component (aSlider) to control the volume of mySound which is a class called PlaySound. Created an addEventListener for aSlider with a SlideEvent.CHANGE executing a function called changeVolume. Everything else works but I can't seem to get the slider to control the volume of mySound.

I want to create a flash document that allows me to change the colous of an image using a colour palette of my own. I am a complete beginner and have no idea where to start this, hence i would need to know what to do and how to do it. I basically want the image to be a simple 2d image that i will create using different layers in photoshop and import them into flash, the layer images will all be one colour so the colour of the whole layer changes. so the colour palette will be on the side of this and when i click on an image and then a colour the image changes to the colour i clicked.

I'm trying to set up a slider that will adjust the volume of the video that is playing. I currently have a slider that adjusts the progress of the video that works just fine. I set my volume slider up the same way (as far as making it slide and the bounds it's contained within) but it fails to actually be draggable. I click on the slider and it disappears from view instead of allowing me to drag it. It's been a while since I've done any AS work and I'm struggling to figure out the problem here as everything appears to be correct.

Is there any way I can create a slider on my desktop to access some of the controls of the YouTube Video player like volume, pause, play, playback speed? I know it is a flash player, but would this involve accessing the YouTube API or something else? For example, I'd like to program something similar to what's provided by the Enounce MySpeed application (control over play back speed).

I'm building a video player and am kinda stuck at the volume slider part. It's a YouTube style vertical slider, meaning if the slider is in the top position volume should be 100% and if the slider is dragged to the bottom position sound should be 0. Currently it's doing the opposite of what I want :(
Dragging the slider down will make the sound louder, while dragging up lowers it.
Here is my code below dealing with the volume slider.

The (-4) is an offset value so when you drag it all the way to turn it off, it's 0 and not 4. I need to reverse this somehow, so the traces above will swap... going down will make userVolume = 4 and going up will make it 30.

I need to change all the elements in my movie that have the color X and change their color to color Y. Is it possible to have this in AS? like, if i press one button all the elements that have the color black (graphic, text, background, etc) change their color to yellow?

I've created a banner ad (attached) for my company and intended to have it appear as a rectangle with rounded edges (transparent corners). It seems like I need to create a transparent border or mask to have my animated banner appear in this way.
Can I add a mask or a border to the whole thing just to make the rounded corners transparent and see the background colour of the site I'm putting it on?
Note: the corners are currently white. I can't change the colour to match the site background as 1. the banner will be shown in different places, and 2. the background is a gradient.

I am trying to post a slide-show on a website, but some of the pictures do not fit the box well and, as a result, there are black bars surround them. Mac OSX 10.4.11 - CS4. I have a supplied video.flv that I have in Flash with a skin control and exported as video.swf and inserted into a GoLive site, all is well apart from the excessive sound. The volume controller is defaulted to max and I would like to reduce the default volume by about 50%. Is this possible to do in Flash before exporting the video.swf.

I have this site I'm doing in Flash with an embedded video.The site has background music that is loading automatically, but when the embedded movie loads, the volume on that is mixed in witht he sites music.If you mute the sites background music, it mutes the video sound as well. Make sense?How can I seperate them out or make the sites background music not load on that particular page.

I am creating a custom flash video player for my friend's wife's surprise 40th birthday party. I was progressing through and everything was working fine, but now the seekbar and volume bar handles are completely gone. I need to create an interactive piece. It's much more involved than this but fundamentally I need to create a slider on the left side of a window that is the color spectrum. I'll put a small triangular pointer beside it that can be moved up and down beside the spectrum. I want whatever color the slider is next to to show up in a symbol on the right. I've attached a simple image that illustrates it. So to restate it again, I'd slide the triangular symbol up and down beside the spectrum gradient on the left and whatever color it is pointing to would just show up in the symbol on the right, real time.

I'm a designer that inherited a project with a volume slider. I'm not that good with actionscript yet and haven't been able to figure out the code. The volume and slider starts at 100%, and I need it to start at 50%. Can you tell me how to set both the volume and slider at 50%? I'm sure it is a simple solution but I can't figure it out. I made a volume slider which works with a draggable mc to control the volume. But I want to do a bit different slider using a mask like the slider in Component box. The aria I want to drag over is a rounded rectangle. I make a rectangle which will be my bound and i use the rounded rectangle to mask it. How should i continue.

I converted the slider bar and slider button to buttons. Then, I made the slider button into a movie clip.

It seems right to me but I don't know. The movie button slides down the slider bar but it just doesn't affect the volume. Going to try to attach my FLA to offer better insight. Just tried to upload it and no matter if it's FLA or zipped FLA, it says it failed.

I did one that enables me to mouse over an item and move it all over the screen, but I need to get it to scroll along an axis. thats where Im getting hung up.

I need a vertical volume slider, but flash is crazy and instead of increasing volume as you drag it up it decreases it instead because of the origin point. the entire slider device is dragable too, so that is another dillema.

I made a volumeslider, but the problem is that the sound plays at 100% when the slider is down and at 0% when the slider is up.Of course every volumeslider does the opposite. adjust this code so down, the volume becomes 0% and up 100%?
