I have this site I'm doing in Flash with an embedded video.The site has background music that is loading automatically, but when the embedded movie loads, the volume on that is mixed in witht he sites music.If you mute the sites background music, it mutes the video sound as well. Make sense?How can I seperate them out or make the sites background music not load on that particular page.

I have a video streaming application that uses a Red5 server. The stream from Red5 is represented through an embedded video object on stage. I have a button calling volumeChange onRelease, but when I trace videoSound.getVolume() in volumeChange, it comes up as undefined. However, if I trace videoSound.getVolume() after I define videoSound, it comes up as 100, but any attempt to use videoSound.setVolume in initNetStream is futile.
I want to know if it is possible to use javascript, flash or flex to make a youtube video player that is capable of controlling left/right audio channel volume. For example, mute the left channel and play right channel audio on both left/right speakers.

There's a site I'm working on I have the alpha on the navigation buttons set to 0.2 the text appears with full alpha as I want I have a nice Old English font I want to use but when I embed the font it takes on the alpha settings of the background.I set the alpha for the text field to 1 but the text remains at 0.2.n how to set the alpha of a container without affecting the embedded text in it or to set the alpha on the embedded text independently?

View 5 RepliesI have a video that I've embedded into a project by means of linking it from my server, where it lives (not embedding it into the actual project) and I cant for the life of me find a way to get the video to continually loop when it finishes. Any looping meathod I've found so far using AS3 only loops the basic animations in the movie, not the video.

However, on a couple of slides, I want to play some short voice clips. How can I "turn down the volume" a bit on the main sound file so as to hear the short voice clips? I was progressing through and everything was working fine, but now the seekbar and volume bar handles are completely gone. I was working on doing some buttons to load each video segment when I realized the missing handles. My actionscript is below:

how one goes about changing the colour on the volume bar for playing videos like youtube does as the volume slider is moving. I don't think I need to go into depth using the graphics classes. What I'm looking for are ideas when a user changes the volume while playing a video, say in youtube, while dragging the volume control, the colour of the background bar changes. I've seen lots of help about creating volume bars for videos, but I don't see how to change the volume bar colour as the volume slider is moving.

I have a website that had a flv file embedded on the home page. All of a sudden the flv does not appear on the page. It shows in the source file, and appears in the dreamweaver page that I use, but does not appear on the site anymore. I have the most current flash player so that does not seem to be the issue. I have tried it on both pc and mac and the video no longer loads. [URL].

View 3 RepliesI have an flv video file that I've imported into Flash CS5 project as an embedded movie, because graphic and movie clip both produced still images. I want to embed the final product onto my website, and have the video autostart in the beginning, play all the way through, and then go back to frame 40 or so and loop continuosly from there. I've tried selecting the final frame and applying the instancename.gotoandplay (40); code but it isn't working. I read that this only works on keyframes, so I tried making the final frame a keyframe but because it is an flv file for some reason it isn't allowing me to do that.

While I can get the master movieclip to move, I can't get it to play the embedded movieclips when I change states. I tried a more advanced method that did work where you stick all of the animations in one movieclip and then manually tell flash to advance each frame using gotoAndStop in a loop, but it would be easier to just have seperate movieclips that I could just call from a master movieclip file. I've tried various methods to solve this including having all of the movieclips on screen and then changing their visibility but that didn't work either.

I've been asked to write a standalone slideshow app which supports images (jpg, etc), video (divx, avi) and webpages (embedded html, rss).
I've done some digging and it looks like flash with flash air could be used to produce a standalone app which would run on both windows and Linux.
Before I start this long (and difficult) process, are my assumptions correct?
I have a website in Flash CS4. When testing the movie, my swf file plays. When I access another menu button, the movie still plays and you still hear the sound. I have the skin where the user can stop the movie before going to other pages in the site but my Question is: How can I get the movie to stop playing if another menu button is clicked? I ask because when I go to another page and come back, the video is not showing but I still hear the audio.

Started well then suddenly flash stopped the flv at certain points and then actions to other parts of the slideshow started to look like a fast forward and jumping transitions. No errors on the output panel.
