View 1 RepliesI've been asked to hard code in playing the video at full sound. I'm using the flash video component and I have several videos where the sound needs to be played at full volume. I have set up the actionscript to play flash full volume and taken the volume control off the skin but I want to know if its possible to get flash to control the users computer volume too?

I made a button so you can turn the sound on and off, but i have no clue how to make a volume button for an external audio clip and i haven't found a single tutorial on the internet that can help me with this specific issue. Can someone help me with this and give me a step by step instruction, including any code i need.
View 1 RepliesI am working in Flash Slide Presentation mode. I have a started a sound file playing on the "master" slide and I want it to play throughout my entire presentation. However, on a couple of slides, I want to play some short voice clips. How can I "turn down the volume" a bit on the main sound file so as to hear the short voice clips? And then turn it back up when the voice clip ends?

View 3 RepliesI have this site I'm doing in Flash with an embedded video.The site has background music that is loading automatically, but when the embedded movie loads, the volume on that is mixed in witht he sites music.If you mute the sites background music, it mutes the video sound as well. "1" is a linkage identifier. everything works perfect...music plays and volume decreases.but not only the attached sound... the whole movie volume changes even the swf I've loaded in my clip. I just need to control the background music("1" linkage) not all the sounds. what's the problem here? how can I make this happen?
Does anybody have actionscript code for a volume control on an website interface? I already have a button that allows the user to turn off or on the audio but a volume control would be nice to compliment it.

I tried this when my mcs are on the stage using instance names:

I then tried this using linkage (LK) name:

None of those worked.
I am sure that this code can be optimized so I don't have to type 8 instances (only 2 shown) of the (almost) same code.

What I am aiming for is to have a way to pass "kabinet", or "operativni" etc. to a function or smth... The code is used to control mc buttons on the stage. It works, but it's ugly and not practical, obviously. I tried with

Inside a function, var being the parameter of said function ("kabinet", "operativni" etc.), but to no avail. Also tried with the with(var), thingy, but with the same result.
So I have been trying to figure out a way to control multiple clips using the same "on press" & "on release" statements located on 1st frame of main timeline. A variable is being set to a value that correlates to the name of each movie clip as an interaction occurs.Ex: user clicks from a selection of buttons & depending on the button clicked it sets clipNum = "1" through "21".What I want is to have something like the following code that will give the user the ability to click and drag the clip with code on the main timeline similar to the following:

View 1 RepliesI've created a small music player with a sliding volume control. I'm having trouble with the volume. Though it does control volume properly, if I set the initial volume to less than 100%, the volume always starts at 100% until I move my mouse over the player. At that point, the volume changes to whatever the initial volume is set to.Is this a flash bug, or am I missing something? Here is the affected code (code for other buttons/functions omitted for brevity):

I'd like to be able to set the volume at say 50%, but the above mentioned behavior happens each time.
I'm building a video player and am kinda stuck at the volume slider part. It's a YouTube style vertical slider, meaning if the slider is in the top position volume should be 100% and if the slider is dragged to the bottom position sound should be 0. Currently it's doing the opposite of what I want :(
Dragging the slider down will make the sound louder, while dragging up lowers it.

The (-4) is an offset value so when you drag it all the way to turn it off, it's 0 and not 4. I need to reverse this somehow, so the traces above will swap... going down will make userVolume = 4 and going up will make it 30.
I've got a serious of games which in turn load off a main main swf.I have mute and unmute buttons on the main menu and the same buttons in each game.When I unload/load a game I want the volume to stay as it is so they player doesn't have to keep turning the volume off. AudioOff is the button shown when the volume is off and AudioOn is the button shown when the volume is on.The code I've got now keeps the volume on or off through the games but the buttons aren't showing up correct with this code..

I converted the slider bar and slider button to buttons. Then, I made the slider button into a movie clip.

It seems right to me but I don't know. The movie button slides down the slider bar but it just doesn't affect the volume. Going to try to attach my FLA to offer better insight. Just tried to upload it and no matter if it's FLA or zipped FLA, it says it failed.
As stupid as my question might sound, i have spent the last 2 weeks reading oop books; but could use some guidance. I have a flash project that is basically a supped up slide show. On the stage i have the following: main_mc (instance name = images_mc) = movieclip which holds "pictures" ui1 (instance name = ui1_mc) = user interface that allows user to draw on picture (when drawing is enabled) ui2 (instance name = ui2_mc) = activates invisible hit areas (buttons) on select pics, when hit area is clicked, we jump to another pic in the main_mc.
I accomplished all of this on the timeline, but am updating the code to OOP. I am having A HELL OF A TIME trying to figure out how to store references to the instances (images_mc etc..), so i can control them from varying class files. I have found it is easy to control the instances from the documentclass, but not from unrelated class files. Example: images_mc.stop(); works in document class; but ovieclip(Parent).images_mc.stop() doesn't seem to work from any class file.(ui2 class file for example);

Note the red code, I need to repeat this an unknown amount yet multiple times but with the number on the end of enemy incremented by 1 each time. It starts with 0 as you can see the code just above the red. I heard about for loops using 'i' but im unsure about how to use it.

I'm rather a newbie to JS, but is there any way for one script to prevent other scripts embedded in a site from detecting the presence of the flash plugin? Even if it doesn't work with AdSense, it would be nice to know if there's a hack to do this that might work in other settings.By the way, I suppose I wouldn't care if it failed to work on IE or obsolete browser versions.

It never works, I must be doing something wrong.The test .fla has a movieclip with a timeline animation. I used the linkage identifier to name it 'reload' AND named the instance 'reload'.

Is there a way to make code on the timeline and code in a separate AS file communicate with each other?I have two buttons, a yes button and a no button.I have a confirm box which is a movie clip. In the movie clip I have the two buttons on it and code so that every time one of the buttons is clicked it runs a function.I have the rest of my code for the movie (so the code to make the confirm box appear) on a separate AS file.Is there a way I can define the functions on the movie clip and run the functions with the separate AS file?
