I want to know if it is possible to use javascript, flash or flex to make a youtube video player that is capable of controlling left/right audio channel volume. For example, mute the left channel and play right channel audio on both left/right speakers.

In Chrome, the video starts playing at the previous position - OK Firefox, the video starts playing from the start irrespective of where user left it last time. - NOT OK

I want to create a custom video player to modify the skin of the play controls etc but still host the videos on youtube.The youtube api allows for minor colour adjustments but not full customisation. I know it would be possible if I download the FLVs but i want the video to remain hosted on youtube.

The page is for wedding videography, and came with a Videos section. However, I do not like the template video player, and would like to have the Videos link on the menu bar go straight to my youtube channel rather than to the flash player. Primarily all changes to the template have been made in a text.txt file, rather than the flash file itself. I've designed a website for a client and it's completed but she's complaining that the music on the website is too loud. I made a button so you can turn the sound on and off, but i have no clue how to make a volume button for an external audio clip and i haven't found a single tutorial on the internet that can help me with this specific issue. Other functions seem to do nothing. For testing this I'm just using the live Google Playground Demo with "ytplayer" as the movie object. View 1 RepliesI'm creating a mute button for an audio player that I pieced together, and it seems to be working alright except when I advance to a new track. If the volume is NOT muted and I click a new track it's fine, but if the volume is muted (i.e. at "0") and click a new track it remains at 0 and won't un-mute when I click the button.. though if I click the button to un-mute it and then select a new track it's fine, so I think there's something in my playSong() function that's interfering, I just can't tell what it is.

I have this site I'm doing in Flash with an embedded video.The site has background music that is loading automatically, but when the embedded movie loads, the volume on that is mixed in witht he sites music.If you mute the sites background music, it mutes the video sound as well. Make sense?How can I seperate them out or make the sites background music not load on that particular page.

We are quite familiar with action scripting but are facing an awkward situation. We need to call different instances of youTube Video into our own swf and play them. Now as youTube video is from a different domain, the Flash sandbox restrictions naturally come into play. We are loading the youTube swf into a clip using the MovieClipLoader Class.
If we remove the instance using the removeMovieClip() command the video is removed but the sound continues. We have even tried the MovieClipLoader unloadClip() method but that too did not yield results.
We wish to be able to kill the sound object or atleast mute it so that it does not play even after the movie clip containing the video is removed. As the swf belongs to a different domain we are unable to control the sound object directly through script. We have even tried loading another youTube instance into the same movie clip after first removing it using the removeMovieClip() command, then creating it again, and finally loading the youTube instance using the MovieClipLoader class, but the earlier sound still continues to play even while the second clip sound also plays.

I now need to make custom controls around the player but would like to be able to do that in html/css and control it with js/jquery. While I can find material helping me control the chromeless player directly ( as in solo embedded and not part of another flash app ). My question is that since the chromless player is embedded INSIDE of another flash app ( say test.swf ) can I still access the player in there from js?

View 1 RepliesI have implemented chromeless player and so far the necessary controls such as play, pause, change video, mute, unmute all appear to work fine through JavaScript. I now need to send the chromeless player to "Full Screen" mode via JavaScript.
The JavaScript API player includes the full screen button but the chromeless player does NOT; infact; the chromeless player is not supposed to contain ANY button. I therefore need to set full screen mode via JavaScript but could not find any documented method for this.

I am trying to control the audio of an embedded video from a mute button. I can get the audio to play and the mute button to control the volume using the following script:

I am trying to build a Flash banner ad which will be hosted on a site I have no access to. My client would like to have a button which, when clicked, would open a youtube video in a lightbox frame. I'm trying to set up a slider that will adjust the volume of the video that is playing. I currently have a slider that adjusts the progress of the video that works just fine. I set my volume slider up the same way (as far as making it slide and the bounds it's contained within) but it fails to actually be draggable. I click on the slider and it disappears from view instead of allowing me to drag it. It's been a while since I've done any AS work and I'm struggling to figure out the problem here as everything appears to be correct.
