Javascript :: YouTube Video Not Playing Correctly After Toggling The Player's Visibility
Mar 26, 2012
I am using YouTube JS API to play videos on my site. Video is played on the dialog box. When user closes the dialog box, player is stopped - player.stopVideo(); But when user clicks again on video icon again, dialog box appears
In Chrome, the video starts playing at the previous position - OK Firefox, the video starts playing from the start irrespective of where user left it last time. - NOT OK
As per my requirements, I want the Chrome to behave as how firefox is behaving.
I want to create a custom video player to modify the skin of the play controls etc but still host the videos on youtube. The youtube api allows for minor colour adjustments but not full customisation. I know it would be possible if I download the FLVs but i want the video to remain hosted on youtube.
I want to know if it is possible to use javascript, flash or flex to make a youtube video player that is capable of controlling left/right audio channel volume. For example, mute the left channel and play right channel audio on both left/right speakers.
I have a video that is meant to start playing when a user clicks on an image and said image opens a FancyZoom overlay. It works fine in every browser except IEs. If I place the video in a div that is not hidden (display:none actually), the video starts as expected. So it seems there is a problem with either Flash, JW Player, SWFObject or any combination of these when trying to load a video in a hidden div.[URL]..
I've got several layers in the timeline and I'd like to know the most effecient method to toggle the visibility of any one of the layers when a user clicks a button I have on the form.
The layers are all simply graphics that have been imported and the only functino they have on the time line is that they each come in at different times during the playback of the movie. I'd like to have the ability to toggle the individual layer when a user clicks the button.
I'm working on a project that has multiple movie clips and I want to have three buttons, you press button1 and it displays mc1, then you press button2 and it displays mc2 and also hides mc1. same with others so if mc1 is on and you press button3 it will turn mc1 off and turn mc3 on. so any combination only turns on its respective mc.
how to do this without an extraneous amount of code. It will eventually have over 20 buttons, so I want to keep code clean if possible.
I have a question, but it needs a little backstory and explanation to make sense. I've searched a lot of places for an answer and have only come up short.I'm using Flash 8 and AS2.A few months ago I made a somewhat complex interactive doll.I came up with the idea to have the blouse have these massively poofy sleeves, and then have a jacket be tight fitting. So when I move the movieclip of the jacket over onto the blouse, the sleeves will disappear, kind of like real clothing, where you can bunch up fabric to fit.I did this by cutting the shirt into three separate movieclips and coding them to move together, so when the jacket moved onto the specified coordinates, and the shirt was established on the base, the sleeves movie clip would simply disappear.
Below is part of the action script connected to the jacket.[code]When you move the jacket away, the sleeves are still invisible. And if you have the shirt and jacket on, and you click on the underwear button to view the undergarment movieclips, the sleeves and sides are visible again, simply because that is the coding for the "drawer" buttons. Simply clicking on the jacket or the shirt creates the desired result, but it doesn't look very clean.I've tried using similar script to the above, to make the visibility true, but it's only served to make it visible all the time, even if the drawer buttons make it invisible.[code]
Is there a script I can use so the sleeves disappear once the jacket is on, but immediately after moving the jacket away, the sleeves reappear? And at this point, is there a way to keep the "undress" button from affecting this, but still keep the sleeves invisible when it reveals other garments and the shirt is on the doll?Should I be making the sleeveless shirt another frame inside the shirt movieclip, rather than a completely separate movieclip? And if so, I know how to go and stop to the next frame using a button, but not sure how to do it with a movieclip. So, I still couldn't get it to work with the shirt as 3 separate movieclips. Instead, I made it all one movieclip with different keyframes, each combination possible on its own frame. And when the jacket moves onto the shirt, it goes and stops to frame 2. When the jacket is not on the x coordinate, it goes and stops to frame 1 again.
Recently I have made a simple flash application that utilizes a webcam feed and an embedded chromeless youtube player within it. I now need to make custom controls around the player but would like to be able to do that in html/css and control it with js/jquery. While I can find material helping me control the chromeless player directly ( as in solo embedded and not part of another flash app ). My question is that since the chromless player is embedded INSIDE of another flash app ( say test.swf ) can I still access the player in there from js?
I am looking for the abilities that Youtube's Chromeless player has to offer but for non-Youtube hosted videos such as Metacafe, Vimeo, Viddler, etc. Abilities I will need are :
[Code]....
Can I use Chromeless player for videos hosted on other sites besides Youtube? If not, is there a solution out there? If not, what languages/APIs would I need use and know to create such an application?
How to implement advanced video player (javascript/jquery/flash) for youtube videos that supports playlists? Is there some good open source script for this, that I could modify.
I have implemented chromeless player and so far the necessary controls such as play, pause, change video, mute, unmute all appear to work fine through JavaScript. I now need to send the chromeless player to "Full Screen" mode via JavaScript.
The JavaScript API player includes the full screen button but the chromeless player does NOT; infact; the chromeless player is not supposed to contain ANY button. I therefore need to set full screen mode via JavaScript but could not find any documented method for this.
I am playing youtube videos with the TShockwaveFlash component in Delphi 2007.The component has many options such as play, stop, rewind, gotoFrame, etc and they work on a normal flash file. However if I try to use them on a youtube video it doesn't work.
It works with Firefox and Chrome, but something's not quite right in IE6. Sadly, one of the project requirements is supporting this browser, so even if it workis in IE7, I need to work this out.I know there's SWFObject, but I'd rather not use it (we are loading already a bunch of JS files, we don't want more).Even this won't work:
In the cosmicpanda update for youtube, you can go from a video page to the video creators profile page while your video is still playing in flash. Does anyone how Youtube accomplishes this? I would like to know if it's possible to keep the flash state of a site constant while moving from page to page on a site.It doesn't seem as if the flash is reloading, so I don't think that they are just saving cookies for the current video time and starting the video at that point when they refresh.I would assume that they're using ajax, but the application of this feature is really clean. The URL gets correctly changed to the users' profile page's URL. The back button still works as it should. (I can press back and forward between video page and user profile page and the video continues going clean and never drops.)
I am trying to build a Flash banner ad which will be hosted on a site I have no access to. My client would like to have a button which, when clicked, would open a youtube video in a lightbox frame. I've been looking all around, but all I see that seems workable involves my being able to edit the html page. I am trying to do this with AS3 and Javascript. Some solutions involve JQuery, but I am not a JQuery pro.
I have my own video player, I've bought it from activeden. And im going to use youtube,dailymotion, video api with php. But i want to use my own video player. How can i do that?It takes list from a xml files like this;
I mean youtube or any other streaming video site, but I've seen it on Youtube. There are times that the loaded bar shows that more than enough video stream has been loaded so the player could play it but it suddenly pauses and shows the loading icon?
stream a video from Youtube and play that video in the player of their choice? I have a client wanting a response for this one, I did check out Youtube and found nothing.
hide the video content of the YouTube player (only statusbar (where is play button etc.) is visible) ? Or maybe do you know other (flash) players that have the ability to stream the YouTube movies ?
I have a YouTube video embedded in my page. It is hidden (display:none). You need to click one of the video link buttons to display the video and play it. The links are defined like this:
It's fundamentally pretty simple! But here's the problem. since the video player is hidden, the flash object is not activated. So when I click a video link, the line ytplayer.style.display = 'block'; displays the video player, but it takes about about half a second for flash to load. During this time it cannot accept any method calls, such as the next line ytplayer.loadVideoById( id, 0, 'hd1080' );. Essentially, I have to click the link twice, once to load up the flash video player, the second time to actually load the video into the player.
Is there any way to embed YouTube video/video player into Android Flex AIR Mobile application?
I tried to use SWFLoader(...) but since its MX library class only works on the desktop runtime environment, but fails to work on actual Android device when debugging the application.
Maybe it's possible to embed HTML that contain YouTube video into some Flex media container like TextArea or something?
I built a timeline based player with 2 menus and many videos that you can play. The buttons move the timeline to a frame label and the video plays. The back button has a stop function built in it so the video stops playing when its hit.It plays wonderfully locally but once on a server after a few clicks it boggs down and sometimes the audio from the last video remains playing even when prompted to stop. I was pointed to use the add and remove child functions to prevent this but being very new to Flash and 100% self taught i have zero idea on how to do this. The link to the player is[url]....Even if its a link to a tutorial or something.
I want to play song on my website, any flash mp3 player which allows me to control play, pause, change song position (means backward/forward by certain limit), change volume options using javascript code.
I need to play WAV, MP3, MP4 and SWF files using Flash Player plug-in in Internet Explorer, FireFox, Chrome and Safari. Please give some suggestions on this.Is there any way to play this formats using JavaScript and HTML??I tried with and tag also but, Chrome, Firefox and Safari is required Quick Time Player to play this formats. I need to use only Flash Player.
I'm having great problems getting Javascript to resume a flash file. The flash file loads up and the video is set to autoplay false. For some reason, any Javascript is not recognising the AS3 function. It keeps saying the function is undefined. e.g.
function getFlashMovie(movieName) { var isIE = navigator.appName.indexOf("Microsoft") != -1; return (isIE) ? window[movieName] : document[movieName];
