It works with Firefox and Chrome, but something's not quite right in IE6. Sadly, one of the project requirements is supporting this browser, so even if it workis in IE7, I need to work this out.I know there's SWFObject, but I'd rather not use it (we are loading already a bunch of JS files, we don't want more).Even this won't work:
I have a simple html page with some javascript where if i click a link, it will show a flash video in a div using the swfobject.embedSWF function. I did a test: Uninstalled flash from my machine, then reloaded the page and clicked the link...I correctly saw no video. I then installed flash and came back to the same page (no reload) and the embed still won't work. I know in swfobject 1.5 (I'm now using 2.2), I would be able to embed the swf after the user installs flash, but now the user needs to reload the page in order to get the flash to appear. This is not good for my current situation, anyone know what is going on here? Here is sample code using a youtube video:
Is it possible to use Flash JavaScript API with YouTube videos? The only function that I got to work reasonably is "Zoom". TotalFrames() gives "1" and TCurrentFrame('/') is always "0". Other functions seem to do nothing. For testing this I'm just using the live Google Playground Demo with "ytplayer" as the movie object. Most of what I want to do can be done with the Google API, but I still feel uncomfortably unclear on the three way relationship of YouTube videos, swfobject, and Flash.
As you can tell by the title, I am having some trouble with AS3 ExternalInterface and jQuery / swfobject.

In my project at the moment I am using Nicola Hibbert's liteAccordion slider.I have it all set up and it's working nicely but the project needs to have a YouTube video on each of the slides.I have used the classic embed code from YouTube to get the desired result, In Firefox and other browsers it's all good, singing and dancing.In Chrome, tears stream down my face as it has totally broke.
Recently I have made a simple flash application that utilizes a webcam feed and an embedded chromeless youtube player within it. I now need to make custom controls around the player but would like to be able to do that in html/css and control it with js/jquery. While I can find material helping me control the chromeless player directly ( as in solo embedded and not part of another flash app ). My question is that since the chromless player is embedded INSIDE of another flash app ( say test.swf ) can I still access the player in there from js?

I am trying to get a youtube video to play in a fancybox popup window. The popup window comes up okay, but the video does not play. I'm having issues with a YouTube video breaking a jQuery slider when viewed on an Apple mobile device. The slider uses a set width & height window that uses the overflow:hidden property. It looks great in all browsers except for Apple devices where all of the slides are visible in a row as if the overflow:hidden property did not take effect.
I created an ajax jQuery featured content slider that will automatically navigate through each tab. Each tab has some basic html. The one I used is this one: [URL]. For some reason, when I embed a flash video in it, the flash video overflows the div. It looks fine in Chrome and Safari but not the latest version of Firefox (3.6) on the PC. Is it not handling overflow or z-indexes correctly?

when trying to embed a youtube video into a flash project I'm working on.The problem I'm receiving is that every time I test the movie, I navigate to the frame where the video player is to appear and I get this error thrown at me from the output box:
Error opening URL - (Youtube's API URL - can't post links yet)SecurityError: Error #2000: No active security context.
I changed the security settings and set the swf file to allow access to the internet but this has made no change.

Im trying to embed a video from youtube into my flash site. I've looked at the other threads and the code cyan blue posted works fine however when I change the URL to my youtube URL nothing shows up.

I have a video that is meant to start playing when a user clicks on an image and said image opens a FancyZoom overlay. It works fine in every browser except IEs. If I place the video in a div that is not hidden (display:none actually), the video starts as expected. So it seems there is a problem with either Flash, JW Player, SWFObject or any combination of these when trying to load a video in a hidden div.[URL]..

This works great, however obviously in order to change the video you have to open Flash and edit the AS. I have some experience with XML, however I don't know where to start in terms of embedding a youtube vid.
