Javascript :: Update The Song's Volume For A Flash Player Using JQuery Slider?
Apr 12, 2012
I'm having some trouble with the code below. the flash player has a default volume slider, but I want to use the jQuery slider to change the volume. the volume value(nr) is changing while I move the slider, but the volume of the song doesn't.
I followed your tutorial for the Volume Control Slider [URL] and it works well, but instead of having to press play and turn up the slider I would like the song to play at start and volume at like 50, 75 or 100%. I've messed around a bit but haven't been able to come up with anything that works
But this does not work in IE8 as the browser won't refresh the flash contents. Any ideas on how to reload the flash contents without external dependencies like swfobject.js?
I'm trying to set up a slider that will adjust the volume of the video that is playing. I currently have a slider that adjusts the progress of the video that works just fine. I set my volume slider up the same way (as far as making it slide and the bounds it's contained within) but it fails to actually be draggable. I click on the slider and it disappears from view instead of allowing me to drag it. It's been a while since I've done any AS work and I'm struggling to figure out the problem here as everything appears to be correct.
I'm trying to make a music player with play, pause and stop buttons aswell as a volume slider.However, I'm getting these three errors:
Line 12 1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: Rectangle. Line 12 1180: Call to a possibly undefined method Rectangle. Line 12 1180: Call to a possibly undefined method Rectangle.
I've followed the Flash Video Basics Tutoirals 1-8 here on gotoAndLearn and stopped short of making the "Volume Slider" or "Full Screen" buttons. I've been googling all over and not come up with a simple solution to adding these features to my video player. In addition, a counter for the video length would be awesome.
How to implement advanced video player (javascript/jquery/flash) for youtube videos that supports playlists? Is there some good open source script for this, that I could modify.
I've created a small music player with a sliding volume control. I'm having trouble with the volume. Though it does control volume properly, if I set the initial volume to less than 100%, the volume always starts at 100% until I move my mouse over the player. At that point, the volume changes to whatever the initial volume is set to.Is this a flash bug, or am I missing something? Here is the affected code (code for other buttons/functions omitted for brevity):
var song_initvolume:Number = 100; slider_1._x = groove_1._x + song_initvolume; playSong(0,song_play);[code]....
I'd like to be able to set the volume at say 50%, but the above mentioned behavior happens each time.
I'm building a video player and am kinda stuck at the volume slider part. It's a YouTube style vertical slider, meaning if the slider is in the top position volume should be 100% and if the slider is dragged to the bottom position sound should be 0. Currently it's doing the opposite of what I want :(
Dragging the slider down will make the sound louder, while dragging up lowers it.
Here is my code below dealing with the volume slider.
[Code]....
The (-4) is an offset value so when you drag it all the way to turn it off, it's 0 and not 4. I need to reverse this somehow, so the traces above will swap... going down will make userVolume = 4 and going up will make it 30.
Is there any way I can create a slider on my desktop to access some of the controls of the YouTube Video player like volume, pause, play, playback speed? I know it is a flash player, but would this involve accessing the YouTube API or something else? For example, I'd like to program something similar to what's provided by the Enounce MySpeed application (control over play back speed).
Recently I have made a simple flash application that utilizes a webcam feed and an embedded chromeless youtube player within it. I now need to make custom controls around the player but would like to be able to do that in html/css and control it with js/jquery. While I can find material helping me control the chromeless player directly ( as in solo embedded and not part of another flash app ). My question is that since the chromless player is embedded INSIDE of another flash app ( say test.swf ) can I still access the player in there from js?
I am a web designer and I do like to hand code using jquery however, I think it would be much faster to use gui applications like flash to create animations especially on the fly as well as support for writing and editing source code.
I want to know if it is possible to use javascript, flash or flex to make a youtube video player that is capable of controlling left/right audio channel volume. For example, mute the left channel and play right channel audio on both left/right speakers.
Any simple script that one could add to a custom jQuery content slider that would make the slider stop while Flash content is being played inside? Or, alternatively, just make the slider stop while hovering the mouse over it?
Currently I am building flash website. But I would like to have images presented using JQuery slider Galleria [URL] Basically, the web is built of the menu on the left. when clicking one of the items from the menu i would like the Jquery Slider show in the middle (over the flash, may be box 700x500).
I have a flash movie playing some music, but the slider controlling the volume has become unresponsive. I have no idea why. msg me if you want the see the actionscript.
The video player (aka moogaloop) on vimeo.com has a neat visual effect for the audio volume slider. There are a number of sound bars that rise and fall when the mouse hovers over them. The volume level is shown by a blue filled area under the bars with pixel precision.
how can the multiple masks (bars) be used to cover a single blue rectangle?
Update: Masks in flash: "the mask item acts as a window that reveals the area of linked layers beneath it [...] A mask layer can contain only one mask item". How do I get multiple masks to clip over one layer?
I am trying to make a song position slider, ala most media players, which will slowly slide along as the song progresses, but also allows me to drag and drop it to change the position of the song. I have some code which works perfectly in regards to the progress and dragging parts but the song doesn't change position and the bar reverts to the pre-drag position when I drop it.
What do I need to put in my code to tell my mp3 player to grab its songs from a folder on my server via an xml doc I outputted from my sql server? (The mp3 player is also on the server).
Here's my code: import flash.events.MouseEvent; import flash.media.Sound;import flash.net.URLRequest; import flash.media.SoundChannel;import fl.events.SliderEvent; var myMusic:Sound = new Sound(); var soundFile:URLRequest = new URLRequest("lpwfte.mp3"); var channel:SoundChannel = new SoundChannel(); [Code] .....
I downloaded player from [URL].. but I don't know why what the problem it had with with playlist. I had a playlist in xml file with songs. When i deleted the mp3 from the server, it is still playing. and when i changed the mp3 files it is still playing the original files. I don't know where these files were saved. I thought it was saved in my browser cache and i cleared it but it didn't work. I thought it was cached in my server, but in my localserver , i had the same problem.
So, again i downloaded the player, and this time it played different song, that i put. I have a hypothesis. Does flash player (swf object) absorb mp3 files?? i don't think so but how come player is playing the mp3 that has been changed or deleted? if it was in server cache then how long will it take to clear the cache and play new file. However, i don't remember coding something like 'cache'
I have a flash website that uses an XML player to play the artist's songs. The player works great. Now, I need a specific button in the flash document to call and play a specific song title from the XML list. The button I tried and that is showed in the flash code has an instance name of "santaBaby", calling a function I named "sampleSong1"Here's my XML playlist:
I am making flash CS4-based music player with ActionScript 3. When I host the player on my site, e.g. [URL], and play an mp3 on the server of my site, e.g.[URL], it works well.
When I link to an mp3 of another site, e.g. [URL], in my local machine, it also works. However, when I host the music player in my site [URL], and play an mp3 of [URL], then it can't be played.
I'm creating a new look for the xspf player: [URL]The playlist highlights the current song being played. I'd like to change the color but can't find where that option is listed in the .flv file, or in the actionscript file.
I'm a designer that inherited a project with a volume slider. I'm not that good with actionscript yet and haven't been able to figure out the code. The volume and slider starts at 100%, and I need it to start at 50%. Can you tell me how to set both the volume and slider at 50%? I'm sure it is a simple solution but I can't figure it out. I tried a few things but have not been able to get it to work correctly in both the volume level and start position for the sliderHere's the code on the 2nd frame of the mc:
Code: stop(); var NiVol:Sound = new Sound(_root.Container);
I made a volume slider which works with a draggable mc to control the volume. But I want to do a bit different slider using a mask like the slider in Component box. The aria I want to drag over is a rounded rectangle. I make a rectangle which will be my bound and i use the rounded rectangle to mask it. How should i continue.
