Flash :: Mp3 Player With Playlist Playing The Song That Has Been Deleted Or Changed
Dec 22, 2010I downloaded player from [URL].. but I don't know why what the problem it had with with playlist. I had a playlist in xml file with songs. When i deleted the mp3 from the server, it is still playing. and when i changed the mp3 files it is still playing the original files. I don't know where these files were saved. I thought it was saved in my browser cache and i cleared it but it didn't work. I thought it was cached in my server, but in my localserver , i had the same problem.
So, again i downloaded the player, and this time it played different song, that i put. I have a hypothesis. Does flash player (swf object) absorb mp3 files?? i don't think so but how come player is playing the mp3 that has been changed or deleted? if it was in server cache then how long will it take to clear the cache and play new file. However, i don't remember coding something like 'cache'

Now, I need a specific button in the flash document to call and play a specific song title from the XML list. Apr 28, 2009I am making flash CS4-based music player with ActionScript 3. When I host the player on my site, e.g. [URL], and play an mp3 on the server of my site, e.g.[URL], it works well.
When I link to an mp3 of another site, e.g. [URL], in my local machine, it also works. However, when I host the music player in my site [URL], and play an mp3 of [URL], then it can't be played.

Apr 3, 2009I am trying to create a menu, similar to a dock menu but that just magnifies the images when rolled over (rather than overly crazy carosels or massively zooming docks. and secondly...the dock menu would link to separate flvs that are on a streaming server. I've never worked with one before and wonder how to connect them to my flash. I'm trying to create an flv player, sorry, shouldve said earlier... but one that only plays 6 vids (linked to by the magnifying dock menu).

Jul 13, 2011I have an air application that I'd like to turn into a multi-player game. I'd like to have 2-40 concurrent connections per "room". We would like to have 1-10 rooms going at once in the beginning. I'd like for users to be able to share voice and video but that's not a requirement.
Users will be racing each other based on data that's updated once every second, so ping doesn't have to be super low. 1000ms would be fine but lower is preferred.[URL]..
Cirrus looks perfect. I've heard some problems about firewall and port settings, but was wondering if anyone had experience with at home users and Cirrus. Another problem is that it's been in labs for ever. You can get RTMFP with Flash Media Server Enterprise but that's like 60k-70k per processor, way out of our price range. I've also looked at [URL] but it doesn't support RTMFP. I know we can host this on AWS and maybe save some money.
There is an open source project (cumulus) that implements RTMFP too but I've read that it's more of a POC then a production ready project. The license is also GPL which doesn't work for our commercial application. I've also looked at[URL].. but again, no RTMFP integration.The reason I like RTMFP is because we can scale without a lot of server cost. I know it's a closed protocol from Adobe and it looks like wowza or red5 won't be implementing it any time soon.
Is there an affordable (not 70k per processor) server tech for multi-player gaming that you can use with AIR/Flash that scales well?
ActionScript 3.0 :: Mp3 Player Won't Go To Next Song Sometimes?
Oct 17, 2009so I have this mp3 player I made. It won't go to the next song when a song ends sometimes. It will if the song is very short (10ish seconds) but once it gets to the 30 second mark it won't go.If you click on the slider at any point it will get to the next song, if you click the pause play button it will get to the next song.I have only been doing AS3 for a little bit and I am totally baffled by this problem.
I've attached the code as a .txt file, i sorted them into their sepperate files with a header. I hope its ok to read. I can post them differently or post the actual player need be.

ActionScript 2.0 :: MP3 Player - Song Position Not Setting To Zero
Apr 2, 2010I am create a flash mp3 player. In that I am displaying the song.position(time completed played). The song.position is not setting to zero, when a new song is played. It is continuing with the previous song. For example, if the previous song time is 30 seconds. the song.position is started from zero and comes to 30 seconds. After that song is completed and a again a new song is started, the song.position is starting as 30 seconds and gets increasing. It is not setting to zero at the start of the second song. I even set the song.position=0, when the previous song is completed.

IDE :: Marquee Scroll (Song Title) From XML File In MP3 Player
Jan 3, 2007So I made some a nifty a MP3 player that grabs songs from an XML file. It displays the song name in the dynamic text field. Unfortunately, I only have very little display space and many of the track names are long. The solution: marquee scroll the text horizonally. The problem: I never marquee scrolled dynamic text and now I am lost.
Here is my main AS:

And while this did make the text scroll on the first song, it doesn't work so hot on the second song. It blips back-and-forth between the first and second song name. Advance to a third song and you've got an even bigger blipping mess. I kind of think that this code above isn't the way to go... that it isn't even worth reworking... that I should try something completely new.

Aug 19, 2009I have a list of mp3-songs, when song 1 is clicked it gets streamed, a stop-button appears, if this Btn is clicked, this Btn disappears as it should - but if user forgets to click for stopping sound and clicks song 2, stopBtn 1 remains and the new stopBtn 2 also appears. there should be only one stopBtn, the one next to the song is playing.
I would like to move the stopBtn and I have tried several approaches move; graphics.moveTo; if(stopButton !=null) {removeChild (stopButton)}; I packed the var stopButton:Sprite in the header and so on.

ActionScript 3.0 :: ID3 Tag - Getting The Song Length Before The Entire Song Has Been Loaded?
Feb 15, 2010I am writing a mp3 player and having some issue getting the song length before the entire song has been loaded - which messes with my position indicator, as it needs to know the track length. I thought I could get the length from an ID3 tag, problem is ID3.TLEN returns undefined, though if I right click the track and show properties, the summary tab shows song duration, bitrate, etc... how I can retrieve the song length before the entire thing has been downloaded?

Sep 28, 2010I'm developing a web-based fantasy football game. Most of the game is a straight-forward web application built on top of Linux/Apache/Php/MySQL.
I'm trying to figure out how to implement the draft application. The draft date and time will be scheduled in advance by each league's owner. Up to 32 users may be logged on for a given league's draft, and there is no limit to how many drafts may be happening concurrently. The users will take turns selecting players, and each user's turn will have a time limit. I'd like for all the users to be able to see whose turn it is, how much time that user has left to select a player, who they select, and which players are still available. If there are users in the league who are not logged in during the draft I'd like to be able to detect that and automatically assign players to them rather than waiting for the time to run out on their turn. Ideally I'd also like to have a chat window so the users could chat with one another during the draft.
My background is in desktop application development, so if necessary I could write server code in C#/.NET or Java. As far as I can see these are the options: PHP/AJAX - It seems like it would be possible to have all the state for the draft in the database and have the operations for the draft run in PHP triggered by requests from the clients? I guess in this case the draft doesn't start until at least one user logs in, and it seems like it would be a lot of polling requests to the server if I want everyone notified quickly when a user makes a selection.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Multi Video Player - Audio From The Last Video Remains Playing Even When Prompted To Stop??
Jun 2, 2010I built a timeline based player with 2 menus and many videos that you can play.The buttons move the timeline to a frame label and the video plays. The back button has a stop function built in it so the video stops playing when its hit.It plays wonderfully locally but once on a server after a few clicks it boggs down and sometimes the audio from the last video remains playing even when prompted to stop. I was pointed to use the add and remove child functions to prevent this but being very new to Flash and 100% self taught i have zero idea on how to do this. However, I want another song to play when a selected button is pressed on the flash file. But I do not want to load a new xml, instead, I want to change it using an attribute. ActionScript 1/2 :: (Flash CS5) - 1st And 3rd Song Doesn't Play
Sep 11, 2011I am loading mp3's externally as to not bloat the swf. However, only 1 out of 3 songs play (2nd song plays) for this jukebox I'm having to create for an assignment. I would think if one song played, they all would. I've checked the AS2 code and it all seems right to me; the song names and button instance names. I sure could use some insight as to why the 1st and 3rd song doesn't play. My jukebox is at: [URL] and here is my simple code in the first Actions frame. This is the only code I used for the jukebox.
