Professional :: Change Color Of A Symbol With A Custom Slider?
Aug 11, 2011
I need to create an interactive piece. It's much more involved than this but fundamentally I need to create a slider on the left side of a window that is the color spectrum. I'll put a small triangular pointer beside it that can be moved up and down beside the spectrum. I want whatever color the slider is next to to show up in a symbol on the right. I've attached a simple image that illustrates it. So to restate it again, I'd slide the triangular symbol up and down beside the spectrum gradient on the left and whatever color it is pointing to would just show up in the symbol on the right, real time.
I just wanna ask if I can change color of graphic symbol or i have to convert symbol to MC?
example: I make a rectangle, now i wanna with some color picker or buttom change a color of rectangle.
Second problem: i have two rectangles and i change bg. color of one rectangle, and when i changed the color of background of that rectangle tweening stop.
how one goes about changing the colour on the volume bar for playing videos like youtube does as the volume slider is moving. I don't think I need to go into depth using the graphics classes. What I'm looking for are ideas when a user changes the volume while playing a video, say in youtube, while dragging the volume control, the colour of the background bar changes. I've seen lots of help about creating volume bars for videos, but I don't see how to change the volume bar colour as the volume slider is moving.
I have a project in Flash Professional CS5 and ActionScript 3.
I have a movieclip symbol (referred herein as "background" with scripts on various keyframes inside of that symbol. I need to hide or show another symbol (referred herein as "object") sharing a stage with "background".
To put it another way, I need "object" to be hidden when "background" reaches a certain internal keyframe. However, as "object" and "background" are both children of the same stage, how do I do this?
I have a moviclip and I want to change its background color on mouse over event. I think that I have to use ColorTransform, but I've not understood how to use it, I've not understood how the multipiers and offsets work. At beginning the background is #000010, I want to change it to #000030. The moviecip's instance name is borse_mc, how to apply the change to it?
Why is it that I can never change a vector object's color? I mean I would think it'd be as simple as changing the fill color but that does nothing.
And why is it that copying and pasting vector objects from illustrator very inconsistent? Sometimes I get the exact copy, and other times their's three anchor points missing, very much screwing up the look of the object. Also, when I import a vector png image made in photoshop to flash, the fill is hollow at times.
I've been looking everywhere but I can't find the solution to this problem. I made a custom cursor and I want the hotspot not to be in the upper left part of the movie clip but in the place of the movie clip that I choose. So, how do you change the hot spot of a custom cursor? I'm using Flash CS4 AS3. I can't believe no one asked this before.
I am working on a project that some one else created. There were very orgainized, but my question is this: There is a starburst shape, and in the property inspector it is labeling as yellow burst, and that's how it shows in the library. But one instance of it is red in the movie, and I can not find it to change or delete as they called everything dynamically. how this was done, or how I might locate this object?
Since I was unable to do this in Photoshop, I was wondering if there was a way in Flash to simply change the color of an image to a speciifc color code. The image is more or less a simple line with rounded corners. It is only composed of 1 color.
I am a rank Flash newbie, so maybe I'm missing something obvious. In InDesign or Illustrator, if I want to change every red object to blue, I can go into the color list, edit the red color to the blue values, and every instance of red in the document reflects the edit. I don't have to select each red element and pick the new blue for stroke and/or fill.
I have an aplication which brings up an image for editing in flash. Here is what happens. I click on A tool and insert 2 text boxes on the image and type something. Then I click on the Arrow tool and double click on text in Text box 1 to select it. Then try to change the font color from the font menu icon. It does not work. But after selecting the text in text box 1 and trying to change the font size from the menu seems to work fine.
I want to add an animated .gif file to my movie. So I created a new symbol and then imported the .gif file to the stage. This created the symbol containing the animated .gif.I dragged the symbol onto the scene where I want it. However, the animation seems to play at a different speed (fps) than normal. So I changed the fps of the symbol (at bottom of Timeline where it says "fps"). But for some reason this changes the fps of the rest of the entire movie.
I would like to know if there is a way to update the position of the thumb on the Slider component when a movie clip plays. Currently I have a movie clip symbol on my stage with the instance name ShapeMC. It has about 10 frames or animation and two actions. the first frame has a stop action as does the last frame. The actions are on their own layer, separate from the actual animation. I also have the slider component in my library, but it is only there so I can reference it through AS3. My AS3 instantiates a variable of type Slider. I then define the properties, like the width, hieght, thumb size, minimum, maximum, as well as enabling livedragging. I did this so the user can drag the slider and move through the Movie Clip symbol. I added a button that allows the user to click it and autoplay the Movie Clip symbol (ShapeMC). All that works. What I would like to do is when I hit the play button, I would like to see the thumb on the slider move along the slider as the Movie Clip symbol (ShapeMC) plays. So if the Movie Clip symbol reaches frame 5, the slider thumb show be seen as being half way through the tread. I tried putting the currentFrame into the .value property of the slider, but that didn't do anything. No errors, but it didn't move the thumb at all.
I animated eyes blinking inside of a movie clip symbol and placed the symbol on a face outside of the symbol.The eyes are stuck on the first frame. I am using CS5. What do I do?
I am unable to center a custom slider inside an HBox. Currently, the HBox contains an image, the custom slider and a color picker. When the program runs, the slider seems to always be bottom justified. As you see below, my HBox does have verticalAlign to be "middle". I have attached below snipperts of code containing teh style and the HBox definition.
I have a few movie clips that change color when they are rolled over and rolled out of which is great and works correctly but now I have add glows to those buttons to serve as borders or a stroke and when you roll over the buttons the color and the filter color changes.
What I am trying to do is to have the button color change to a different color when it is on the page. The color only changes when I roll over it or hit it. Once I am on the page it changes back to the color it is on the up state.
How is it done? All I've seen on the web is how to change the color. Well how about going back. I'm talking about a MC with many colors. I can't just change back to a single hexadecimal color.
I can accomplish the change as it passes over a frame, but I can't get it to change back.
In the frame is this:
Code: cHurtColor = new Color(_root.compMC); cHurtColor.setRGB(0x00FF33);

I'm creating a new Color object in CS5. Essentially I'm using a component slider and linking the value to 360 hue and converting that value to color hex to pass into a color object which will be assigned to an object (in this text case a standard square movieclip). However, when compiling I keep getting the error 1067: Implicit coercion of a value of type flash.display:MovieClip to an unrelated type Number.
How to attach a graphic to the slider (slider component flash cs3) drag-handle so that when the slider moves up and down it fills with a color? All the solution I find are all about flex. But I need to do it in Flash...
I had to create a non-component slider for a project. I am new to actionscript (and entirely self-taught so bear with my probably poor programming style) and have no idea how to display the value as the thumb moves. Is there a way to use the sliderevents outside of the slider components, or is there a way to update a text box as the slider moves outside of the sliderevents. Here is the code for one of the sliders:
function getPercentageA() { return Math.ceil(((slidera.thumb.x-slidera.Track.x)/slidera.Track.width)*100); }
I am looking for a way to change stroke color via AS3. The objects I would like to change are created with flash professional. They do have a fill. I just want to change the stroke color and not the fill color... is this possible? ... or am I stuck removing all fills and using a filter?
I am building a line drawing movie where I would like the user to be able to change colors using the AdvColorPicker I downloaded from Sephiroth.it.I don't know how to write the code that will change the line color upon picking one from the AdvColorPickerHere is the actionsript for the line drawing:
ActionScript Code: colors.onMouseDown = function() { if (1) {
