I am assigning a color to its color field like this: lightblue_color.transform.colorTransform.color = 0x65ffff; then i am adding an eventlistener to the button like this: lightblue_color.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, ChangeColor); Then, in the function: public function ChangeColor(evnt:MouseEvent):void {trace(evnt.target.transform.colorTransform.color);} It prints 0. Why is that? Shouldn't it print 0x65ffff or do i need to do some type conversions?

Professional :: Change A Vector Object's Color?
Feb 5, 2011Why is it that I can never change a vector object's color? I mean I would think it'd be as simple as changing the fill color but that does nothing.
And why is it that copying and pasting vector objects from illustrator very inconsistent? Sometimes I get the exact copy, and other times their's three anchor points missing, very much screwing up the look of the object. Also, when I import a vector png image made in photoshop to flash, the fill is hollow at times.

In InDesign or Illustrator, if I want to change every red object to blue, I can go into the color list, edit the red color to the blue values, and every instance of red in the document reflects the edit. I don't have to select each red element and pick the new blue for stroke and/or fill.

Aug 11, 2011I need to create an interactive piece. It's much more involved than this but fundamentally I need to create a slider on the left side of a window that is the color spectrum. I'll put a small triangular pointer beside it that can be moved up and down beside the spectrum. I want whatever color the slider is next to to show up in a symbol on the right. I've attached a simple image that illustrates it. So to restate it again, I'd slide the triangular symbol up and down beside the spectrum gradient on the left and whatever color it is pointing to would just show up in the symbol on the right, real time.

Nov 7, 2011I have an aplication which brings up an image for editing in flash. Here is what happens. I click on A tool and insert 2 text boxes on the image and type something. Then I click on the Arrow tool and double click on text in Text box 1 to select it. Then try to change the font color from the font menu icon. It does not work. But after selecting the text in text box 1 and trying to change the font size from the menu seems to work fine.

Sep 26, 2010on click on "elements" i'm dynamically generating coloured boxes (all instances of the same symbol) and the colour of these boxes is applied through a colortransform. in the box there is a textfield and i want the the text to be colored according to the box color. i mean, if the box is dark the text has to be white, and viceversa.
