Since I was unable to do this in Photoshop, I was wondering if there was a way in Flash to simply change the color of an image to a speciifc color code. The image is more or less a simple line with rounded corners. It is only composed of 1 color.
View 1 RepliesI have an aplication which brings up an image for editing in flash. Here is what happens. I click on A tool and insert 2 text boxes on the image and type something. Then I click on the Arrow tool and double click on text in Text box 1 to select it. Then try to change the font color from the font menu icon. It does not work. But after selecting the text in text box 1 and trying to change the font size from the menu seems to work fine.

View 1 RepliesI am coding a graphical interface using Flex, and I have a qestion related to masks in Flash.I want to create a kind of mask that defines which color and which alpha value a text will have according to its position on the screen. It is very easy to do that with the text being the mask of a bitmap, for instance.
However, I also want to take into account the color of the text itself.for instance, if I create a red text, in some zone it will be red with a modified alpha value, but on another zone, the text will be full white, as if there was a kind of mask which also applies its own color on top of it.
Is there a way to easily do this kind of thing? Of course, I can manually apply the format on the text according to where it is, but I wonder if there is an automatic processing like mask or blend mode using a DisplayObject as a processing pattern.

When you rollover the button, its supposed to change color right away. And when you rollout its supposed to fade back to its orignal color.Whats the code for a button to change color after its been pressed and stay that way? f.eks. For an example, when a user visits the site they are able to view a picture of a house with a default color of white. When the click on a button "Roof" the user is able to pick from a select number of roof color options.
Same goes for siding, and trim.
I am hoping with a web presense in this economy, maybe it will turn things around.
What I have seen,
I have seen some sites use shape overlays.
So they take an image, and (I am not sure if it is in Flash or Photoshop) they make a cut out of the roof, then they make 10 copies of it in different colors. For some places I have seen them descibe it at frames for each color. Yet I am not sure how you call upon it on click?
Anyways I am very lost and need a mentor.

What I want to do is adjust he hue, saturation, contrast, and brightness so I can create a realistic color change without affecting shadows when you click on a color box. I have played with the filters within the application and can achieve it but want to do so with actionscript.
On each button I have a code similar to...

It is involving into itemRenderer, but I wish to change the color of the image when some event occurs (like clicking above or something). Why is it that I can never change a vector object's color? I mean I would think it'd be as simple as changing the fill color but that does nothing.
And why is it that copying and pasting vector objects from illustrator very inconsistent? Sometimes I get the exact copy, and other times their's three anchor points missing, very much screwing up the look of the object. Also, when I import a vector png image made in photoshop to flash, the fill is hollow at times.

There were very orgainized, but my question is this: There is a starburst shape, and in the property inspector it is labeling as yellow burst, and that's how it shows in the library. But one instance of it is red in the movie, and I can not find it to change or delete as they called everything dynamically. how this was done, or how I might locate this object?

In InDesign or Illustrator, if I want to change every red object to blue, I can go into the color list, edit the red color to the blue values, and every instance of red in the document reflects the edit. I don't have to select each red element and pick the new blue for stroke and/or fill.
View 2 RepliesI need to create an interactive piece. It's much more involved than this but fundamentally I need to create a slider on the left side of a window that is the color spectrum. I'll put a small triangular pointer beside it that can be moved up and down beside the spectrum. I want whatever color the slider is next to to show up in a symbol on the right. I've attached a simple image that illustrates it. So to restate it again, I'd slide the triangular symbol up and down beside the spectrum gradient on the left and whatever color it is pointing to would just show up in the symbol on the right, real time.

View 2 RepliesI am trying to replace some code which loaded an external image and triggered and function once completed with code that uses and embedded image. The relevant code looks like this.

The commented out section is where it used to take the loaded image and apply it to a texturemap.I need to replace the lines of code in the first function with something that calls the second function correctly.
I have tried using function imageLoadComplete (e:Event = null)and calling it with imageLoadComplete(); in the first function but although it compile and runs without error, the program does not work properly. I suspect this is to do with the dispatchEvent(); line which I do not understand.
