in XML gallery , how we can load all images first so that rest of the slide show runs smoothly
For example: I have placed 10 images in XML , when slideshow starts , all the effects not appears , because it waste time in loading each image on its turn I want to load all images first , then want to start the slideshow how i load all images at the start ?
I am using currentSlide.gotoNextSlide to change between slides, however I can't make it stop playback on load of each slide.I have a motion tween with I need to NOT play automatically when the slide loads... but no matter how many iterations of stop(), gotoAndStop(), etc I use, nothing will stop the clip from playing when it is loaded!

I have built it on a transition extension. i have it working, but all the images are loaded into the library, given a class name to reference them and the rest is done based on the class names.in the as3 code a array has been set up all the class names listed like this:

I have taken it a step further and created a xml file listing the url to the photos i want to load in but this is where i am lost the urls are being read successfully in, so the code can access the urls but im not sure from there how I actually import the images in, or how to assign each a seperate class , does the addchild command assign a class name that i can add to the above array?
How to display images in center in xml slide show
I have created a flash animation using tutorial on [URL] The problem I am facing is my images are of different size, so how to display images in center.
I have used this code, it displays images in center in IE but in firefox it displays half image

I did a tutorial with macromedia flash professional 8 and all works but the images. On my computer it only shows one image but on my website it doesn't even show one image. There should be four. I am new to flash and am having a hrd time geting it to work. I can't seem to attach the flash document. It says invalid file. I do have a link to a test page I put on my site.[URL]

Here is a link to the .swf file:[URL]..Basic problem: There is text that describes each set of 6 pictures. After the set of 6 pictures plays through the text is supposed to disappear and a new text appears to label the next set of 6 pictures. Problem is: the text doesn't disappear!
I made all the text layers a symbol/movie clip. I animated each text to disappear at a certain point in the timeline but when I test the movie the texts just remain there and build up one after the other.
When watching the movieclip, pay attention to the text in the lower left screen.

View 1 RepliesWhen I changed hosting from the companies hosting to my own personal GoDaddy hosting everything went right, except for 2 flash slide shows (Simple rotating images). They just apear as clear boxes now. You can see what I am talking about here: [URL] and here [URL] . You will notice the empty large empty box on the right in both pages. When you right click on it the browser recognizes that it is flash. On the Piza site I tried taking out the original code and entering the flash object via Dreamweaver CS5, but that yeilded the same results (I only mention this because the code on that site will thus look a bit different).

I am designing a website and for the first time I will be trying to implement Flash as a means for navigating the website. I have worked with flash before, but only for animation. I am trying to make a 'Slide-Show' like flash object that flips through slides at a predetermined speed and when a slide is clicked on it takes you to a new page. I am aware of some web sites like slide.com but they seem to include ads which I don't want on a professional site. 1. How can I show the items in rows of 4 and 4.. Instead of just repeat them vertical?
2. How can I load the thumbnails in the menu items?
3. How can I load the image for the chosen item in the image placeholder?
When adding/removing elements to/from a VGroup I need it to happen smoothly, resize the item. I believe I have to use transition effects. But how?
At item (element) level? At VGroup level? Should I use a DataGroup instead and do it at ItemRenderer level?
I've been trying to do it at item level but I still didn't manage to make it work and somehow it doesn't feel right. It feels like it should be done at a higher level.
For example, I defined a "death" state which resizes the item to height=0. But then, after it shrunk, it has to somehow notify VGroup in order for it to be removed or remove itself from VGroup. It feels unnecessarily complicated.
way to associate an effect to inserting and removing items from a VGroup?

I have 2 problems. I need to make a blur transition system where I can blur objects in and out smoothly. I'm thinking I could base it on timers and certain events/variables/values. Don't know if the blur class goes with the transition class or not. My 2nd problem I may make another thread. How would I influence the 3D angle of an object via actionscipt? I'd like to do a cool viewpoint/angle effect as you move your mouse across the screen.
