I want to make and burn some CD's that are composed mostly of Flash. They are interactive CD's and i want them to open and function on both PC and Mac simply by inserting them. The CD's are for younger children and i would want to try and not have the user track down and install Flash Player everytime.
I'm making an interactive film. At certain points within the film, the viewer has the ability to select from a few options that will direct them to an external video clip (they are flashback scenes). The main story pauses when the user selects a flashback scene and I'm clear on how to achieve this.
However, my issue is that once the flashback scene ends and the external video closes, I'm not sure how the main story will resume. Is it possible for it to auto-play (resume) in some way? My last resort would be to have the viewer select a play button - this is only because I do not want a break in the narrative and want to limit the amount of clicks the viewer has to make.
I create a small animation with ActionScript (basically fadeIn/fadeOut at different interval of different images). When I view in FlashPlayer directly it work when I view in browsers (any) I need to "click" inside the application for the fadeIn to start.
In my application I use this : stage.addEventListener(Event.ACTIVATE, launch);so I guessed it was caused because by defautl the application is not activated, my question is how can I make the animation start at loading without needing to click on it?
I am putting together a flash presentation to hand out on cd. I have seen some flash presentation cd's do the auto-run thing. How is this accomplished? Actually not sure if this is AS or not. But if anyone has a clue, snippet, fla, tutorial even some ancient writings on this.

I want to happen is when they view my webpage there is a pop up message for the auto install of flash installer and once they click automatically the flash would be installed. I mean the location of installer in the server they can catch? Is it possible? how the client can have the installer through pop up or any way.

I'm working with StageDisplayState for the first time. I was wondering if there's any security reasons for not being able to trigger a FULL_SCREEN state. In this simple class I wrote when viewed in a browser (firefox - mac), the timer event FULL_SCREEN doesn't trigger, the mouse event on the other hand does.
I'm building a flash project that will be ran with a wrapper of some sort to give flash extra controls. The issue I'm running into is streaming video from a web domain while the .swf is located locally on the users computer. I'd rather not ask my clients to go into adobe's security sandbox and allow it them selves. Is there a way to auto allow a file to communication externally for streaming? I know an Adobe Air app named Ambience that streams mp3s. Anyone know how this can be accomplished?
Autorun borderless flash application from cd?I was wondering if anyone knew a way to do this without 3rd party software? I searched google but the only thing's out there dated back to 2005 and there were very little solutions.
I'm have googled untill my fingers bled, but I can't find out how to load automatically an external flash file inside a mx.controls.Loader in Flash. Links for the files are; [URL] Edit: This means without a button, it loads when the origianal .swf file loads with the mx.controls.Loader in it!
Am trying to see if anyone has any links or resources where I can learn to setup a flash video file where it automatically redirects to another URL such as a sales page at the conclusion of the video. I also would like to find out how to have a link/overlay at the end of the video where a viewer can click to go to another URL such as a sales page.
I am not a prgrammer by profession but do work in Flash and I am willing to try this given the right learning resources. Not sure if both or either of these tasks is done in the flash file or in some type of java script on the html page. I have seen this done by this company [URL] but you have to subscribe to their service using their control panel and they limit the number of players you can create.
I have Flash 8, Flash CS3 and Flash CS4 if needed for this project.
Is it possible to create an Auto Run cd in Flash without having any extra software? I want to be able to create a cd that runs automatically with buttons on the menu that will take the user to individual files? Do I need special software to do this?

I have a series of videos in the project I am working on and I do not want them to auto play once loaded, I want the user to click the play button to start, how do I do this? I am using AS2 on CS3, the video is on progressive download from the server, I tried a couple behaviors, but none did what I was going for.
In the new Flash CS5 Actionscript editor, there's a bug with the auto close bracket. If I have an existing pair of brackets, when I hit the Return key in the same line as the opening bracket, the editor automatically inserts a closing bracket even when it is not needed. However if I press Return on the line after the bracket, it will not close the bracket. I don't seem to experience this in Flash Builder. One possible way is to disable the auto close bracket option but I find the auto close bracket is useful despite the slight annoyance mentioned above. I expect the editor would be able to detect if there's already a closing bracket and not insert a new one.
I have an imported video on the stage and I wanted to set the autorewind parameter to True. However, when I click on the FLVPlayback component and look at the list of parameters the Autorewind is not there. I have "aligh", "autoplay", "cuepoints", etc..., no "autorewind". The video is from a flash export from Final Cut Pro (using Quicktime Conversion to create the FLV file). How do I get the autorewind to show up or am I missing something.
I have a list of items dynamically loaded from an XML file into my flash movie. Each item is positioned vertically with some buffer space between it and the preceding item. However, if the amount of items exceeds the flash objects height, then the excess items are invisible (because you cant scroll through them!).So then is it possible to make some form of call (undoubtedly an externalinterface call to a javascript function) that will resize the height of the flash object to fit all of this dynamically loaded content so that the browser's scrollbar is triggered allowing the user to scroll through?Or is it more practical to simply carve up my own scrollbar to fit the entire flash movie?
I'm creating a Flash game...blackjack, actually. It uses a back-end made from Java.Anyway, there's a basic chat in the game, where new messages are added to the bottom...pretty much your standard chat window. This is how I do it now:txtArea.verticalScrollPosition = txtArea.maxVerticalScrollPosition; However, that does not always work. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't (oddly enough). I'm looking for a permanent solution. txtArea is the component TextArea (d'uh), and I'm using ActionScript 2.0.
As a software developer, I offer free trial versions of my software for download. I can see from my stats that many that download the trials don't run them. My main target user is PC novices, so I think many of them doesn't realize they have to run the downloaded installer.
Would it be possible to write a small download client in Flash, that starts when the user clicks a download button, automatically downloads my .exe file and runs it when downloaded?
I am trying to get a menu that has videos that I will scroll through at a certain speed.Right now I have 30FPS which I have tried to lower which doesn't' control the speed of the auto scroll? Below is the code.
is there a way to set the loaded SWF's height and width to always use 100% of the Loader's height and width? pretty much like when you're embedding a swf to an HTML page... I know that you can do this by setting the width and height of the Loader on every stage resize, but is there another way wherein you can just specify height and width is 100% and then loaded SWF will automatically resize according to stage and Loader's current dimensions?
try loaded a SWF file which has coordinates based listeners and it seems that the loaded SWF doesn't reposition its listeners correctly even if the stage is already resized... take this swf for example [URL] i tried using an SWFLoader in flex which scales the content and also a normal AS3 flash.display.Loader and it seems that both fails to reposition the listeners correctly.
my auto complete isn't working.ActionScript Code:import flash.display.MovieClipusing the above, if I type: import flash.display. there is only one item in the auto complete (BitmapData), when there should be a lot more than that. Why are they not showing?
I have a problem about my desktop application program which is I have a banner in my application and it has a flash (its name exmple.swf) run in the banner, now I want my program will auto update the exmple.swf file from remote server for the flash. How must I do.
When I export my flash movie to be hosted then embed it on my site (myspace) the flash banner(no controls) doesn't AutoPlay. I checked and unchecked Paused at Start in the publish settings, published and exported, but both times when I hover/click on the blank/unloaded movie the menu shows the Play option unchecked. My file has a preloader and the movie/content starts on frame 2. I have CS4/AS3.have the movie autopaly on it own. (I wish Adobe would have named the option Autoplay instead of Paused at Start,I wonder who came up with that). Here's my code:
Code: Select allstop(); var l:Loader = new Loader(); l.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, loop);
