I am running an swf on my localhost and it loads another swf from an external site. It gives me the following error:Connection to [external site] halted - not permitted from [localhost]localfile.swf.I have included the localhost directory in my Global Security Settings, as well as the local file. swf, so it should be trusted and allow the external link.
View 0 RepliesI have an HTML page with buttons. Each button needs to have a getURL to open the Flash site, but then somehow, needs to also load the appropriate swf into that Flash site... My reasoning is because I have some scripts under my site that need to be in HTML (or PHP) for search engines, that way I don't have to do the whole site in HTML.. I hate having a HTML index page, but it's the only solution I could come up with. So, when a visitor selects any of the navigation buttons, I don't want them to have to select that button again, when the Flash site loads. how to do this for Flash 7 / AS 2.0? Or if there are any posts here about it?
View 2 RepliesI'm creating a site that loads external .swfs as pages. I have little understanding of how Loaders and instance names work with AS3 (even after reading the documentation), so I'm having some difficulties.
I'm loading the .swfs in a movie clip named "container." I want to replace the contents of "container" with the web page .swf that the user chooses, but I don't know how to write the condition to:
a) check to see if something is already inside "container"b) remove the contents by instance name or method of MovieClip. I'd prefer to remove whatever is inside of "container" rather than switching cases for different instances.

[URL] Above is a link to view the project I'm working on. Once the site loads if you go to the "Contact Us" page the content doesn't load correctly. I'm using an extrnal .xml and .css files for the content. I'm also embedding the fonts dynamicly. If I test the file locally on my computer is works fine the image loads as it's supposed to and content looks correct. However when I post the files to the server (which work exactly the same way) I get the white box when you can see from the link above. I'm at a complete loss as to how to to fix this.

I am embedding the Flash in a html page using CSS to have it align center middle. I think that's where the problem is.

the best way to do it but i have a preloader the loads an external swf that loads 2 external swf files. one on layer o and the other 1.it seems to load the swf on layer 1 twice.url...if i run the swf that loads the 2 external swf files by it's self and the same problem happens.mouse over the navagation button and then mouse over the close button and follow the animation down to were it turns back into the navagation button. sometimes the close stays up.if i run the swf file that just contains the navagation it dosen't happen.

I cannot reproduce the problem as it works for me with all kinds of connections (even a crappy usb modem in Indonesia!). I've asked friends all over the world to check it and they have had no problems. But I've also recevied e-mails from completely unrelated people from different parts of the world, using different OS and browsers, that it will only load to 66% and then gets stuck. I'm working with a flash template that loads external images and text using an xml file. Everything works well the only problem is I've promised a client that as well as a "title" and "description" I will also include a clickable URL link. I can edit the flash to a certain extent but I am having a nightmare of a time including a clickable url. Is there anyone out there who can help? "photo_description", "photo_title" and "photo_url" are the names of the dynamic text fields.

I have a little Flash intro SWF i prepared and handed off to a friend who is implementing my intro animation into an HTML site.... The problem is that once the SWF (intro) finishes, there is a short gap (blank white page) before the actual HTML site loads. Is there a way around this? Is this something i need to code on my side (AS3) or is this a problem for my HTML/javascript buddy to figure out......or both.

View 2 RepliesI need to have 4 external links going into my my flash site, seperat frames. It kind of works when using anchors in my "main.swf", and not load the "main.swf" using the loader component, but then all by itself the "main.swf" starts to jump between the 4 different anchors. When I load the "main.swf" using the loader component, nothing happens, and I feel I need to have the loader component aswell. I have tried to put the anchors in seperat frames in the "main.swf" aswll as in the "loader.swf".
This is how my site is build:
index.htm (with the html anchor codes needed) with the loader component "myLoader" in the index.htm loading the "main.swf".
Everything is embedded in an HTML site. The HTML loads a preloader that then loads the actual flash movie. Inside this movie I created a few buttons, inside a scroll bar movie clip. I want the buttons to load a whole new movie inside the same html. The code I'm using in the button is simply:

The problem is that it works beautifully in the Flash movie tester but doesn't do anything when tested inside the browser, embedded in the HTML. I think the problem is that the HTML embeds as an object the first movie, the preloader for the menu movie, not the menu movie itself.

I plan on using this type of preloader in the gallery section and before the root movie is launched. I'm looking for a preloader that preloads the _root movie, and all of the content it loads on it's level, which will be external SWF files. I plan on using the loader in two ways for the site:
- For the preloader that I will insert before the entire movie, I plan on loading the tattoos/merchandise/contact/news external SWFs which will makeup the content of the _root movie.
- For the preloader used in the tattoos/gallery I plan on using it to display a loading bar on top of the button thumbnail clicked, then displaying the pop-up enlarged image (which is an external SWF file) of the thumbnail on top of the entire movie once the loading is finished.
I've tried some of the preloader examples given in the tutorial section without much luck.
I have a button when I click on it it is suppose to load an external swf into a empty movie clip. But everytime I clicked it, it juz loops the whole flash animation of this very whole flash the button is currently in which it should actually load the external swf to the empty MC. I can't attack my file here since it is too big.
