Flash :: Filling Playlist With XML Generated From MySQL Via Php?

I have an online flash video player fed by a playlist driven by XML. This XML is generated from a mySQL database via 'playlist.php'. The issue I am having is that when I feed the php generated xml into the player, it only reads the top level/hierarchy of xml information into the playlist (i.e. gallery level, when below that is category, and ultimately video).
When I copy the output of the php generated xml into a normal xml file (i.e. playlist.xml), the playlist is fed with all of the appropriate information, and is complete.
Can you tell me why my flash (as3) video player and playlist will recognise 'playlist.xml' but not 'playlist.php' information?[URL]..A link to the player, which is currently hooked up to 'playlist.php' is at the same address but with theater.html instead of playlist.

i've created a php file which grabs ID, name, URL1, URL2, and Price from a table and puts it into an array called 'loadpics'.Now here is where i'm lost.How can i then put pictures into flash from the URLS in the variable? how to tell flash to create the pictures... Do i need to use a component or something? I want to set a maximum in the database and then for each row as a percentage of the maximum - it would fill the image based on the black volume.
Take the volume in flash of the lightning bolt (pixels), then fill it with a color as rows increase from 0 to the maximum number.

how Flash reads the PHP coding which was generated from the MySQL database.Though, I was wondering if anyone can help me with this task and/or clear stuff up. All I want to do is grab a single video file, when on the video.php page.the video.php will have the parameter, video.php?id=____ and than the PHP coding in the header will grab the database info for that video. Though, do I have to create a separate page for the flash to grab that information?Like, I notice that for Flash to grab that info, PHP needs to set it up like so:

and ect. Though, do I have to echo this part out, or do I have to send that PHP info and create a page from it, than have flash grab the information from that 2nd page?

I am generating a playlist server-side but am having problems when I try and scrub it on the client-side.Here's the contents of main.asc of my application:

The client calls "getStreamLength" to get the length of the sequence from the server; I do this in order to set the length of the scrub bar correctly.The problem is when I try and scrub - both forwards and backwards - it doesn't work; the stream just pauses then picks up where it last stopped, regardless of the position of the scrub bar.Is it possible to scrub a server-side generated playlist using Flash Media Server?I am using both Flash Player 10 and 10.1 and version 3.5.3 of Flash Media Server.

We are trying to fill our Flex 3 applications background with an image pattern by repeating the pattern throughout the background.
The pattern is a very small "bulleted"-background.
The Flex App seems to just stretch the image pattern even though we've specified in the CSS the following:

My employer is making a flash card and they want to customize it by passing a variable in the url that links to the card in order to fill in a dynamic text box.So the URL will have ?me=Bob on the end to but Bob's name inside the card.I've done this for them in the past but that was AS2 and I'm trying to use AS3 for this card. oward a code snippet or tutorial on the best way to accomplish this. If we could use an embedded font that would be a bonus.

I have a typical Flex-based application that was written to use a Java/Hibernate/MySQL backend. The client changed the requirements - now they want to distribute it on a CD where the user can just run the app without any installation or a network connection.
To do this, I certainly need to eliminate the web server and the database server and adapt my application (with as few changes as possible, of course) to a stand-alone application that will fit on a CD/DVD. I've managed to export the data to XML and read it into Flex, but I'm wondering if there's a way to recreate the Hibernate data structures in Flex so I could change as little code as possible. Failing that, is there any way to keep the existing Java/Hibernate external to the Flex code but retrievable without installing Apache Tomcat or MySQL?

I've read many solutions on the board about displaying correctly your Flash emmbed site in way to fit the browser screen of your visitors. I've tryied also many suggestions, and I can't get it right. I have an mp3 player based on the School of Flash code. When I click "next song" I need it to go to the next song, unless it's the last song in the playlist in which case it needs to go back to song number 1 in the playlist.

I have searched everwhere on the internet for a solution, with no luck, so I am hoping that someone can point me in the right direction.I am trying to make a kind of interactive tv. I have eight scenes and each scene has four choices of movie clips.A user picks one clip from each scene, maybe with check boxes. This generates a playlist which is loaded into a flv player which in turn plays the eight clips in order.

I was trying to build a flash mp3 player for my website to help sell my music. The flash mp3 player needs to have a playlist with "Buy Now" buttons next to each song in the playlist, that link back to my paypal for easy checkout.Im not sure if I should try to code this in AS3 using the ListBox Component or the Datagrid Component. Either way, its all coming down to the fact that I need to learn how to embed Images, Mp3's and Links in each row of the playlist.Here is a couple examples of some cool looking flah mp3 players that Im trying to build:

How to get an array from an XML file, bring it into flash, and set up a playlist from the XML file to play a series of FLV files (that also loops). Also to include the ability to add to the list in the XML and flash automatically recognize the new item and throw it in the playlist on next runtime.
Currently I have an xml file being loaded in to control the prices on a menuboard.

I'm trying to brainstorm ideas on a site I'm managing. [URL]. (Once the page loads, click on "The Fixx" menu option). On this page, I have a list of radio shows that this DJ has produced. It's a compilation of songs that he posts up twice a week roughly. Currently the way it's setup... is you can click the button and it opens a pop up window with a player that plays the corresponding file. However... I want to be able to have a window open up that has a playlist of the songs contained in that mixshow in the bottom (Not something they will be able to click on to go to a particular song, just something that tells them what is on this show) and the player at the top. I also would like the capability of dragging through the song so they don't have to listen to the whole thing. Currently it's abit cumbersome, and I know it'll drive more viewers if I add playlist functionality.

I need to create a dynamic movie player in the flash website, i tried Import Video... (File > Import >) , then i put a relative URL of xml file (e.g. xspf.xml) under the "Already deployed on web server..." option. but the video doesn't show nothing at all.

Does anyone know any good tutoriols on how to create a "slideshow" or "playlist" in ActionScript3? The slide can be either a simple picture, a soundfile or a video. I want to be able to jump back and forth in the slideshow/playlist, and also see how long a slide will be shown. The playlist will be loaded from a pre-defined XML-file.

I'm doing a project like youtube. After some try, I can run FMS, dynamic playlist and flowplayer (I think this is what I need, am I right?) However, when I try to combine them, I discover a lot of problems. In the tutorial, the dynamic playlist cant run with FMS (even the tutorial says can, but when I try it, it cant!), and it is using Flash and as(AS3), the flowplayer is using html and js, I really cont know how to combine these 3 things together.

I downloaded player from [URL].. but I don't know why what the problem it had with with playlist. I had a playlist in xml file with songs. When i deleted the mp3 from the server, it is still playing. and when i changed the mp3 files it is still playing the original files. I don't know where these files were saved. I thought it was saved in my browser cache and i cleared it but it didn't work. I thought it was cached in my server, but in my localserver , i had the same problem.
So, again i downloaded the player, and this time it played different song, that i put. I have a hypothesis. Does flash player (swf object) absorb mp3 files?? i don't think so but how come player is playing the mp3 that has been changed or deleted? if it was in server cache then how long will it take to clear the cache and play new file. However, i don't remember coding something like 'cache'
