So i have a flash site i am doing in as2, even if the solution can only be done in as3, I still want it. I am trying to accomplish lines through the background image like on this site [URL] I tried just putting the patten on the image itself, but when i scale my site, its all distorted and the lines does not look as crisp anymore, like theirs do, so I am assuming they did the lines themself in flash...
Is there a way to have a transparent background in a flash application built with Flex 4? I need to put it on a webpage where the html background is visible through the flash.
I plan to have the swf fill the browser window, and this should work fine for that. When people click on a button, I want the view to "zoom in" by scaling to 200% and setting the x and y coordinates appropriately.How can I do this with the repeating pattern, because the way I have made it is a series of movieclips. Is there a better way to make it so it is just one movieclip I can control the scale and position of?
ActionScript Code: tileWallpaper = function () { tileWidth = 200;
I am trying to provide my users with the option to have my application launch automatically and complete a task at a certain time every week. I can make my application launch at log in using NativeApplication.nativeApplication.startAtLogin=true but I then want to detect if the time is the time they selected and if it isn't then run the application in the background until the time does match or the user shuts down their computer. On Adobe's webpage comparing Flex web apps and desktop apps it implied to me that applications could be run in the background.
I would like to use an Illistrator file as a repetitivepattern for the background of my flash web site.I couldn't find any pointer in the documentation.
Users of my Flex application report that sometimes the application is freezed when the browser window is minimized or they select another active tab over it. In this suspended state, the application receives no CPU share and all network connections it uses are closed. When the browser window is restored, the application is resumed. This happened with Safari 5 on Mac OS Leopard, with both Flash player 10.0 and 10.1. I searched a lot but I could not find any information about such behavior.Is it possible entering in suspended state to be prevented and how? Is it possible for the Flex application to be notified about going into sleep mode and wake up back?
I have a Flex 3.5 application that will serve multiple purposes, and as part of the visual changes that I'd like to make to indicate which mode the application is in, I want to change its background color.[code]...
My Flex 4.5 application has many users from Russia and Ukraine with poor internet connections and Socket connections often interrupt and have to be reconnected.
Currently I set currentState to "offline" on IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR and Event.CLOSE events and display just 1 component in that state:
i'm trying to search a string for a particular pattern, and replace it with elements from within the pattern... for example..here's the given string...if you want to learn how to use regexp, {url===http://somesite.com, text===click here}.
the pattern... {url===http://somesite.com, text===replacement text}
and the intended result... if you want to learn how to use regexp, click here.
of course, i'll extract the url and do something else with it... i'm just wondering what the regexp is for that pattern, and how i can extract things from the results returned.
i am trying to create a hit counter in the background of a flash application. However, i can't seeem to get the code in flash correct to access the php script.
Flash Code:
Code: _root.checklot=0; setInterval(check,1) function check() {
I have created a Flash application running in a browser (Firefox 3 on Windows XP). When I move this application from foreground to background and (after some time) viceversa, I notice a considerable slowdown, i.e. for about thirty seconds the application becomes unusable.
My swf is very small (~200 KB), but this swf creates *many* buttons and *many* other graphical widget (with statical images), so the RAM occupied is considerable (~150 MB).
I initially assumed that was caused by the swap mechanism of the operating system or of the browser. This was *not* true, and it was confirmed by the fact that, by default, Mozilla Firefox prevent Windows from swapping out memory when the program is minimized (see config.trim_on_minimize option). Nothing has changed even disabling the paging system of Windows.[code]...
I would like my application to be able to remain running while the user goes and uses another application. (It will be playing music) Additionally, how to communicate w/ Cocoa Touch from this environment?
If you think this is not possible, which platforms are capable of this (other than the obj-c mac x-code route, which I am trying to avoid)?
I import XML data in order to fill an AdvancedDataGrid (using Flex 4.5). This ADG is correctly filled with the data, columns display the right information etc. etc.
But there is a problem! Indeed, the 'Cost' data are imported as 'Strings' and that is why I cannot do the SUM... I just get a nice 0 as a result! I would like to convert these data into Numbers, so that the addition can be processed. This conversion has to be done before filling the ADG I think.
I already tried to implement a custom summaryOperation but was unlucky...
public function calculateSummary(data:Object, field:SummaryField2, rowData:Object):void { var dataField:String = field.dataField;
[Code]...
The Alert always displays a void message, the data are not transmitted to this function I think
There is another thing: the user can insert new data in the XML dynamically and that insertion has to update the SUM result.
I have a bounded object, created using primitives lines in Action Script- either an oval or a triangle. Is there any way I can fill the contents in a specific color
Just to clarify on this- the shape could be in two ways
a) drawing a isoceles triangle based on a variable apex angle
b) two curved lines to form a "lens"
I am not sure if I can use the fill function, as I am not drawing a inherently bounded shape- the closed nature is based on my calculations
Is there some way in flex to parse strings to date. I want it to support custom formats similar to 'dateformatter'. Using 'dateformatter' class we can parse date object in various string formats as specified by 'formatString property'. I want it other way round, from string to date. The parse method 'Date.parse(my_string)' does string parsing but for a very limited set of formats. Can't we have something similar to following, where user can specify his/her own formats.
I wish to do my project in mvc pattern. so I chose cairngorm framework and just read some of the document about this framework.But I cant understand deeply to do project using this framework. Have any methods or examples to study doing project in cairngorm framework??
I am using a command pattern, so any changes to object state need to happen within a command execution. A normal itemeditor in a DataGrid would just make its changes on the underlying bound object, but I need to intercept that change and make it use a command.how to implement this. A basic example is that I have an object with a "date" field. In the datagrid I am using a flex "DateField" component as the itemeditor. When I select a new date, I don't want it to update the datasource, I want it to call a different method where I can access the newly selected value and pass it to a command to execute.
In Cairngorm (Flex Framework), there is Model Locator Pattern, which is similar to Global variables, is it a right pattern, Adobe is saying for flex its best pattern
I would like to implement the MVC pattern to an existing Flex project.I want to separate out the controllers and models from the views. They currently all live together in large mxml files.My question is, should httpservice requests be in the model or the controller? What sort of advantages/disadvantages would there be to either?
I'm trying to make a very simple game in Flash. I have a map where you can see only the borders of the states. I want to make every state a symbol. Can I somehow fill it with different colors? Using paint bucket doesn't work...
I have an online flash video player fed by a playlist driven by XML. This XML is generated from a mySQL database via 'playlist.php'. The issue I am having is that when I feed the php generated xml into the player, it only reads the top level/hierarchy of xml information into the playlist (i.e. gallery level, when below that is category, and ultimately video).
When I copy the output of the php generated xml into a normal xml file (i.e. playlist.xml), the playlist is fed with all of the appropriate information, and is complete.
Can you tell me why my flash (as3) video player and playlist will recognise 'playlist.xml' but not 'playlist.php' information?[URL]..A link to the player, which is currently hooked up to 'playlist.php' is at the same address but with theater.html instead of playlist.
