I am Creating one application in which I want to set one swf as my application background.
I am able to set background but it is only coming with some area only.
It is not coming in the whole application.
It is not scaled in the whole application background.
I am using 9-slice scaling with that background SWF.
I am trying to provide my users with the option to have my application launch automatically and complete a task at a certain time every week. I can make my application launch at log in using NativeApplication.nativeApplication.startAtLogin=true but I then want to detect if the time is the time they selected and if it isn't then run the application in the background until the time does match or the user shuts down their computer. On Adobe's webpage comparing Flex web apps and desktop apps it implied to me that applications could be run in the background.
View 2 RepliesUsers of my Flex application report that sometimes the application is freezed when the browser window is minimized or they select another active tab over it. In this suspended state, the application receives no CPU share and all network connections it uses are closed. When the browser window is restored, the application is resumed. This happened with Safari 5 on Mac OS Leopard, with both Flash player 10.0 and 10.1. I searched a lot but I could not find any information about such behavior.Is it possible entering in suspended state to be prevented and how? Is it possible for the Flex application to be notified about going into sleep mode and wake up back?

View 2 RepliesWe are trying to fill our Flex 3 applications background with an image pattern by repeating the pattern throughout the background.
The pattern is a very small "bulleted"-background.
The Flex App seems to just stretch the image pattern even though we've specified in the CSS the following:

I have an Image object that gets resized to the containers size when the image loads.The images that it will load are dynamic in size so after resize I end up with a sliver of the image object's white background showing.How can I make the Image object not have a white background and be transparent.Parts of the PNG's have transparent parts but show up as white due to the white background of the object is it loaded into.

I have a NavigatorContent which is displayed when the user selects an item in a DataGrid. This NavigatorContent contains a form and an accordion displaying the related objects.
When the user presses the Save button in the NavigatorContent the form and the children should be saved to the database by calling the server through BlazeDS:

The object that i pass to the accordion children is public and [Bindable] in the NavigatorContent and in the accordion children and is initially passed from the main DataGrid. May this be a problem relating to this issue?
I really don't know much about flash or swf files but in updating my portfolio I came across Polaroid gallery. I have managed to update the background jpeg with my own picture and remove the fade effect. However in the original program the background was tileable so when seen in a full screen browser looked fine. As my picture is not tileable I would like to know if it is possible to scale the background or the whole swf object without tiling the background.
View 1 RepliesMy application currently contains a number of Widgets that are managed by a Widget Manager. When the user clicks on a widget (e.g. a Helper widget), the Widget Manager loads the widget into a separate sibling application domain with the following line of code:

However, I am unable to use the widget's variables and functions later on. I attempt to find the Helper widget from the Widget Manager's list of widgets, and I do successfully. But when I try to caste the Helper Widget from type IBaseWidget (the interface all widgets share) to type HelperWidget, I receive the following error:
TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed.....
This is because the application domain of the class trying to use the Helper widget is different from the application domain of the Helper Widget. I tried to fix this by loading all widgets into the same application domain as the loader:
wgtInfo.load(ApplicationDomain.currentDomain, null, null, moduleFactory);
I now get the following error whenever I attempt to load the Helper widget:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
How can I load my Helper widget into a common application domain that is accessible by the other widgets?
I want adobe sockets to send "customized" class object to a server socket(WinSock2). I used socket.writeObject(myClassObj). Actually My flash application and windows application works for string buffer but not for object.

Just wanted to know if it is possible to set the AIR application's background to 0% opacity.Simply put I am trying to create a desktop buddy. Lets say I have a visual component (button) and a non-visual Object that receives a message and generates music in realtime (using an internal Sound object, etc). What's the best way to make the connection in OOP/AS3? In other languages, I've used to add the objects to a top level object (something like the Application object) and let them see each other. Example: Add button to App, add SndManager to App. Click on button, notify App, make App invoque the play() method on the SndManager.I'm asking you this because the above example looks odd to me. In fact, I'm not sure if I can add a non-visual object like my SndManager to the Application object.how can I bridge this?

1. The user has an option to choose 1 of 6 images for the background.
2. The user uploads an image that meets requirements
3. The uploaded image is skewed/scaled and placed on top of the background image in the appropriate place.

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to develop a simple mxml Flex application to start Skype from the AIR/Flashplayer runtime. Is it possible to get back events from a native Windows application? In the simple example of Skype, the OS returns control to the Flex app when Skype exits. But what about native applications which have their own event model and wants to communicate with the Flex event model. For example, a Face detection system which shows "Hello" on a Flex app when the camera detects a face. Can this be done in the current Flex framework?

how can i delete storage directory instances or folder while uninstalling any air application. In my application when i first time run my application, application copy some data from application directory to application storage directory. now i want to delete all data and application directory folder also while uninstalling application.
I am doing that because when i launch any update then application is accessing old data which conflict with my application new features.

If I use the the tag, I can do it; however the xml compiles into my swf. How can I retain the xml file in my release build?

View 1 RepliesI have a native (Obj-C, standard Xcode project) application and I'd like to integrate a partners iOS application (or specifically, it's functionality) into it as just another view in my application. The problem is that their application is a Flex/Air app. I really don't understand the Adobe compilation process on how it gets from a bunch of flex code down to an IPA. I don't see intermediate projects, shared objects, etc on the disk to produce that IPA. It looks like it doesn't rely on the Apple tool chain... as I understand it, you can produce the IPA on Windows as well. Is there any way to build that Flex app in such a way that I can import it into Xcode so I can link against it and use it as a library from within my application? While I specifically used iOS as an example since that is the most important platform, we'll want to apply this solution to our respective Android and Blackberry 6 apps as well.

I have an AIR application with a system tray icon. When clicked it shows and activates the app. This is working as expected when the app is hidden (docked), however if I select another application so my app is in the background clicking on the system tray icon does nothing.
Oddly I also have a contextual menu on the system tray icon, which has an option to restore, this calls the same event handler as ScreenMouseEvent.CLICK, yet works.
I expect it's something to do with the contextual menu changing the focus, perhaps it's a bug in how AIR works with the system tray, perhaps it's just something I'm missing. Would be good to know if that's the case.
