is it possible to transform regexp pattern match to lowercase?

pattern = /([A-Z]+)/g;
str = str.replace(pattern, thisShouldBeLowerCase);
Output should look like this: "hi guys"
I'm working with some Action Script file and I found this:

I know it's a regular expression and that exec() is looking for my pattern in my string. But how should I understand this pattern?
I have this:

and want everything between the ( and the %)the string looks like this: (-24%)I now get a return back "(-24" and have searched for a long time to find a solution but didn't find any.
I've got a properties file with two distinct key-value pair patters like the following;name.name.name.key = valuename.name.fullname.key = valueAccessing them one by one is fine if the key is known.What I need now, though, is to access ALL values from say name.name.name without knowing the keys (integers to be exact). The values then have to be added to an ArrayList to be displayed in a List.The keys are completely random, so I don't know the range beforehand (I can't and don't want to hardcode the range of range of keys for each single properties file), so simply looping through a previously defined range isn't what I need here. Also, the keys are not successive.
How can I do this with AS3?Just for clarification as this seems to be a little confusing;I do not want to parse the properties file. I rather want to solve this using the methods AS and Flex already provide.The ResourceBundle class already has a method that outputs the content of the specified bundle. However, it contains all values. What I need is just a subset of values that match a given key pattern.Edit:To make this easier, I can drop the key pattern matching and create a new resource file with a distinct pattern. Now I only need to get all key-value pairs (I need both the integers from the keys and the value) from that resource.
I want it to match the expression "lol" in a sentance.. I entered "lol 234234" for the main string for a test (remove the "`s, their not part of the expression)and I put the expression as "lol".I didn't touch parameter or flags, because I'm not really sure I know what they are heh .
I guess it works because I got : String.match(expression): true
[0] = lol
Also, how would I add expressions with it like : a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i,j,k,l,m,n,o,p, etc... so if he says a, or b, or c etc it would match it.

I'm having trouble with loading in an external image that I can transform with the Senocular Transform Tool class. I have managed to load in the picture but the transform class doesn't seem want to grab it. Eventually I want to us the FileRef to upload the image but I just need to figure out how it works first. Here my code to load in the external image

The transform class can grab the other movieclips but it doesn't want to grab the new image loaded in from the code above.
I have seen several examples in Flex for passowrd validator using RegExp. But every where the validation is happend for single validation.
I have a requirement, like password validations like
- At least one Upper case letter
- At least one numeric character
- At least one special character such as @, #, $, etc.
- At least one Lower case letter
- password lenght minimum 6 digits
- password cannot be same as user name
I have the code only for checking the password is valid or not . check the below code.

I have a datagrid and a search field. I've set the change event of the search field to run the filterfunction of the datagrid. I'm able to match the entire term, but I'd like to be able to use a regular expression to do a progressive search (e.g., "Pe" matches "Peter"). I tried to create a regular expression to compare the fields, but I can't seem to get it to work. How do I return the results of the RegExp? Here's the function as it currently stands

View 1 RepliesIs there some way in flex to parse strings to date. I want it to support custom formats similar to 'dateformatter'. Using 'dateformatter' class we can parse date object in various string formats as specified by 'formatString property'. I want it other way round, from string to date. The parse method 'Date.parse(my_string)' does string parsing but for a very limited set of formats. Can't we have something similar to following, where user can specify his/her own formats.
someformatter.formatString = 'HH::MM::SS' ;
mydate = someformatter.formatTodate('23::56:34');
Will 'parseDateString' method of dateformatter be useul here?

A normal itemeditor in a DataGrid would just make its changes on the underlying bound object, but I need to intercept that change and make it use a command.how to implement this. A basic example is that I have an object with a "date" field. In the datagrid I am using a flex "DateField" component as the itemeditor. When I select a new date, I don't want it to update the datasource, I want it to call a different method where I can access the newly selected value and pass it to a command to execute.

We are trying to fill our Flex 3 applications background with an image pattern by repeating the pattern throughout the background.
The pattern is a very small "bulleted"-background.
The Flex App seems to just stretch the image pattern even though we've specified in the CSS the following:

I need to write a method doing a formatting of numeric value given a pattern as one of the parameter, in actionscript.
For example:
a. 12345.00 using format pattern ###,###.## resulting 12,345.00
b. 12345.00 using format pattern ##,##,##.## resulting 1,23,45.00
Initially, I thought that NumberFormatter able to do that, but after reading documentation, it seems you are not able to accept pattern.
how to implement this ? I'm using Flex 4.1

I can't understand how to check if Character is in lowercase in as3.
View 1 Repliesi have to create something that loads text dynamically and then you can input words and it determines if that word is in that dynamically loaded text. I have to output a statement for three different reasons.
1. If the word is not found
2. If the word is found
3. If the word is found, but it's not the same (Ex. You enter hello but the word in the text is Hello)
I have it all working for the moment using functions etc....but the one thing I am unsure about is how to determine whether the character is uppercase or lowercase or maybe there is another possible way so that I can print out the 3rd reason from about.(telling the difference from hello and Hello.)

I uploaded the PHP and Flex files to my internet server, and the app. works fine. My question is: How can I make the same app. work in Adobe AIR? I have this input text field in which the user inputs a string of sentences into it. I need it to be able to read any string that is typed into it regardless of whether it is upper or lowercase.
I'm reading a AS-book for a week now, and now it's about fscommands. But I noticed they use both lowercase & uppercase to start the boolean values (true/True & false/False).
Code:

Is that a mistake or does it just not matter?
I have the following code in actionscript 3:

The bridge is a remote object, instantiated. The retornamenu() is the function that I want the remote object open in amfphp.
However the retornamenu() is a dynamic function, which turns another function, but I can not run it at runtime,
example

var async:AsyncToken;
async = bridge.stringfunction;
But this way does not work, not perform the function retornamenu();
