Flash :: SWF Access Javascript When The Files Are On Different Servers - SwfAddress.js Not Working?

I had a somewhat weird setup for a site here, which goes as follows: Server A holds a SWF Server B holds a HTML document with the SWF Embedded, along with SwfAddress.js I can't seem to get any Flash-to-javascript to work here through External Interface calls. SwfAddress fails and I see this error in Firebugs Console: "Error calling method on NPObject!" This also occurs with another JS function I'm trying to call with the MouseWheel. I've set up my crossdomains and deployed all Security.allowDomain("")'s where applicable. Has anyone embedded an external SWF and had issues with AS-JS communication before??

Just put our new site live, and having trouble with one of the swf files playing. Using the colorbox jquery plugin throughout the site and this works fine. However a movie on [URL] (qcf engine movie) gives out a repeated javascript 'Access is denied' error everytime you close the colorbox?? Perhaps because the swf file is hosted on amazon s3, although other movies are playing fine from S3,

I basically have a movie clip on one server and swf clips on a different server, and I am loading them using the loadMovie command.my problem is: on those movie clips I am loading, I have a stop(); action on the first frame, and I am triggering them to play when loaded by the containerMovie.play(); commandmy problem is: if both parent movies and loaded movie are on the same server, the action works fine and the movie is played on when the frame with the play action is reached.if they are on different servers, the movie is loaded alright (you can saee the first frame) but the action does not get executed and the loaded movie does not playexamples:[URL]

how to use SWFAddress within MCs? All the tutorials I find seem to use the maintimeline, but I need to know how to make it work within multilevel mc's, dynamicly loaded in. Ive got a working code but this one is static. Everything is working, even when i copy and paste the URL of Testpage 5 for example in the browser. how to create a dynamic way than using the switch statement.

I've recently started putting together a Facebook Connect AS3 app and retrieving objects and images through the Graph API.Running anywhere but locally, I receive security errors of the form: SecurityError: Error #2122: Security sandbox violation: Loader.content: xxxx cannot access url...A policy file is required, but the checkPolicyFile flag was not set when this media was loaded.If I add a line of the form:[code]One thing I'd considered was retrieving the crossdomain policy file on a per image basis, capturing the domain from the image URL before making the image request. Unfortunately, at least via the Graph solution (and I haven't looked too closely at the others), their servers resolve the image url after the request is made, from something more generic like: url...Has anyone found a more dependable means of ensuring that images can be retrieved without security sandbox violations? Or do Facebook maintain a definitive list that developers need to keep an eye on?

I have spent several days now trying to make SWFAddress 2.4 work. I followed very closely Lee's video, but I can't make it work. I get the site working, but I cannot make the deep linking nor the title change to work. I am using CS3 with AS 3.0 and SWFAddress 2.4. My PC has Vista Home Premium and I tested this on several browsers (IE, Safari, Opera, and Firefox).

The FLA file is constructed the same way as in the video with 3 MC's which visibility I toggle based on which button is pressed. The trace() call in onChange displays correctly the value I am setting in each one of the button event listeners, however the url never changes and the back and forward buttons are never enabled.

I have used SWFAddress before on a timeline driven site but now I am trying to do all actionscript and it suddenly doesnt want to work.I am trying to use SWFAddress 2.4 and even got as desperate as to try using all my older files (old .as files, and .js files and even switch my AC Object to the swfobject.js) and it refuses to work.Below is a broken down quick version of what I am trying to do

I'm trying to get SWFAddress working in a project. When I open my page in Firefox Firebug gives me and error: asual is not defined _util = asual.util, swfaddress.js (line 230)
The Flash end seems to be working as I get the the swfaddressEvent. The JS side refuses to put the name in the title of the browser.
I'm using SWFAddress 2.4. I'm also using SWFObject v2.2, which I have imported first, as per suggestions.
I tried the older version of SWFAddress following along with the Tutorial at GotoAndLearn.com. But, this also did not work.

I'm doing a little website and using swfaddress for deep linking. Everything seems to be setup as it should, swfaddress is working fine when i'm setting values, like the page title or url and stuff.On the other hand, SWFAddress.onChange event is not responding at all. Has anyone got an idea or had this "bug" before ?

The timeline swf itself (the core of the site) is being loaded into a wrapper swf, as one of the requirements is that this timeline can be used elsewhere, in other projects. This wrapper, however, will have some additional visuals that pertain to a stand-alone version of this timeline. As a result of never knowing exactly where this is going to be used (either a subchapter in another flash website, or as a stand-alone site by itself), I've decided to dump all of the swfAddress code into the wrapper, in a child class of it. To handle the navigation changes, I'm dispatching custom events (from the timeline) with parameters that describe the nav changes, which gets picked up by the parent wrapper, which then calls a function in the swfAddress child class for handling.
Also done in this swfAddress class is the parsing of the URL onChange event (when a browser back button button or history changes the nav, rather than a Flash button). This, too, dispatches an event with info about the parsed URL, which the wrapper is picking up and then calling a function in the timeline's API to make the necessary changes.

I have SWFAddress going for the most part, but the browser's back and forward buttons aren't working properly. When I use the back and forward buttons, it successfully changes the URL but it seems the SWFAddressEvent.Change is not being fired in Flash. Everything I click within the .swf relies on this event and works great, but the browser buttons still won't.

I am setting up a Flash based MP3 player control (The standalone version of WordPress Standalone Player). I have a situation of multiple windows with players open. One window opens the other, so I have the window.opener property available. When the child window is opened, I want to programmatically mute the audio player in the parent window.
This works in Firefox, but not in IE 7 and 8. I know little about Flash/Javascript interaction and I'm stuck. I am not getting any error messages. To do this, the player SWF object has a setVolume() and close() function. These functions are not defined anywhere in Javascript so I guess that those are provided by the Flash object. This is supported by the following lines I found in the Flash source code of the player:

I have an html page with a flash movie embded in it, that flash movie contains a button. I want to pass the id of an element on the containing html page to the flash movie so that when the button is clicked, I get the text of that element in flash (i.e. innerHTML).
So, my question is basically two questions:
How to pass something from HTML/Javascript to flash? How to access an element on the containing html page from flash? (What ActionScript code is needed to do that?)

I am trying to access a javascript function through flash player and the code is working for twitter. But in case of facebook, when i post the swf file and try to access the code, the flash player doesn't work. I think there is a problem of script access. I've embedded a virtual tour on one of my client sites.
The site is hosted by Slicehost, and as you can see the load times for the Flash movies are very slow, so my idea was to serve the swf files from Amazon S3 Europe.
To test it, I have all swfs uploaded to the same directory / bucket on Amazon, while the index.html and p2q_embed_object.js files reside on my local machine. The js file is changed to refer to the Amazon-hosted swfs. The first swf loads fine, but the others don't. What am I doing wrong? Is there a better way to do this that would allow me to serve my Flash assets from elsewhere?

I am using a embeddable Flash based MP3 player (The standalone Version of Wordpress Audio Player, to be exact) to play audio on the web page of a client. Given the nature of Flash based players - AFAIK they all use Flash's audio/video decoding libraries - the exact player product might not matter, though. She complains that some specific audio files sometimes tend to play slowly, as if on a tape deck that doesn't run at full speed. Her machine is a 5 year old Sony Vaio with a 1.5 GhZ Pentium M Processor.
So it's not top of the line anymore but it should not have trouble decoding anything, let alone a MP3 audio stream. I can't verify the problem because we can't set up an audio connection (slow Internet on a remote island), nor can I reproduce it on my 3.3 GhZ dual-code Workstation, but this is a person whose error reports have seldom turned out unfounded in the past, so I tend to take them seriously. I see differences between the encodings of the MP3 files (see below). Any pointers towards which setting(s) to change?

I don't work with Flash and consequently know nothing of it, but I have the task of embedding a swf film into a web page. I know nothing about the swf's internal design, other than it plays a short film. I'd like to control when the swf starts playing, rewind it (it will be played infinitely), and possibly even cache it in the browser. It will be part of a Javascript-powered rotation of images, in which the <img> element will be temporarily replaced with an <object> for the swf.
My question is do swf files have an interface for Javascript built-in when compiled (Actionscript I think?), or would this entirely depend on the author's decision to include such code? If it is dependent on the author's inclusion of the code, are there any possible tests I can run to see what methods might be available?

I use jquery.flash() plugin to embed flash into my website. The problem is that in IE6 this doesn't work. I tried swfobject (1.5), also, but it gives me (sometimes) some strange errors with n null or something like that, so I decided to use jquery.flash() also. (I use both swfobject and jquery.flash() now)
So, basically, swfobject works but gives me that strange error sometimes (all browsers), so NOT all my flash banners work, and jquery.flash() WORKS in all other browsers, except IE6.

I have avoided adobe products like the plague from when I was developing myself since it costs a fortune to buy and of their products, but big employers love it and pay for it so here I am. Our "Flash" guy just left the team and I inherited this issue. If you read my other post you know what is going on so I will move on. I want to make a simple call from actionscript to my javascript taht is referenced in my other post. I specifically want to call the CheckboxCollection function from inside of actionscript. I don't need to pass it any args or anything of the such from inside of actionscript.
All I need it to do is run that function once the flash is done loading. The javascript function will take care of everything I need, I just HAVE TO HAVE IT called from actionscript to make everything work in harmony. I am in the middle of teaching myself all things adobe and actionscript(much to my dismay), but I really have no clue where top go from here to make this work. I have reviewed adobe documentation, but until I have a better grasp of the language as a whole I am still lost. I copied most of my actionscript on to here, but I did leave out everything that had to deal with mouseover events, since my issue is not about a mouseover and they all work like a charm.
UPDATE: I had to stop working on this to get some other things done, but I am back to step one. NO matter what I do I am having no luck making this work. I have tried all suggestions on here, and tried everything I KNOW how to do, but I am having no luck. If anyone could take a look at this post and the one that I link to (It is the companion javascript for this) and see if they can come up with anything. I have tried so many different iterations of my code there is no use putting all of my trials up for example of what doesn't work,
