I am trying to use the Quickbase API (see reference below) with a POST. I am having trouble forming it; specifically, I am clueless as to how to format the header (headers=""). I think the XML Payload is correct, but who knows.
Quickbase API reference:
Example XML Request
POST /db/6c5xatxy HTTP/1.0
Content-Type: application/xml
Content-Length: 88
QUICKBASE-ACTION: API_GetRecordInfo

i created xml in flex after that creation i post to php via http service but when i add like xml in http service flex throws error msg like Error #1096: XML parser failure: Unterminated element." What did i worng ? How to send xml data flex to php ?
<mx:HTTPService id="createxml" method="POST" url="http://####/admin/?do=storebettingdetails" useProxy="false"></mx:HTTPService>var xm:XML = new XML("**********"); ------ adding child node -- Thend attached xml to service like createxml.request=xm; createxml.send();
I've used the Flex HTTPService to connect to a backend blazeDS service without any problems at all. The question I have is, can I also use HTTPService to send a HTTP POST message to a server (with basic authentication)?
Specifically I'd like to be able to interface Flex with Notifo [URL] and to interface with it you just need to send a http POST with authentication and some key:value strings for the message content. (I've done it from java and from the command line with curl and it all seemed pretty easy to set but I'm just not sure how to go about trying this with Flex).
How would this be done via the HTTPService (if at all) ?
Can anyone see how the mxml/as class would look like and what would be in the services-config file and what adapters need to be used etc etc ??
I'm trying to to convert a bordercontainer to a image file (PNG or jpeg, doesn't matter the format), and post it to a php script that sends an e-mail using the mail() function .I've been able to post simple text strings to the php script but posting images seems to work a differently. I've been looking at this post [URL] to see if i could tweak the code there but haven't had any luck. I'm not sure how to handle the image aspect.
Is it possible to get at the data that I sent via a HTTPService Send('I want to get at this data') method when a FaultEvent is raised? Either by looking at the global HTTPService variable or at the FaultEvent object.
I am trying to access a .Net service which requires an authentication header. If WebService is used it works fine. But when it is accessed using HTTPService it throws error. The project is already done by somebody else using HTTPService. Now changing to webService requires some time since there needs to be modification in a lot of files.
Below is the SOAP envelop required by the service.
I dont want to make hboxes with labels and all for static headers in tile list... IS there a shortway to put column headers in a tile list in flex easily?
I am in the process of writing an application in Flex 3.3, using the Cairngorm framework, for deployment as an AIR application. The application heavily utilizes RemoteObject services to get data from a web server.Each of my service delegates extends a common class which provides a method for calling service methods on the RemoteObject.So, where I previously usedServiceLocator.getInstance().getRemoteObject('myService').myOperation.send();I instead usethis.send('myOperation', 'myService');I use this method instead of calling the RemoteObject operations directly because this method adds another, global, responder to the operation call. This extra responder analyses data in the headers of reponse from the server.
Or at least it should -- this is where the problem is. In the result data (event as mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent) the headers property is always null despite the headers definitely being sent from the server.
I am trying to extend the DataGrid to allow headers for different groups of rows. However, I cannot figure out which method to extend from DataGrid that would allow me to accomplish this. I do not want the headers to be included in the dataProvider, only the rows. I want to specify indexes to insert the headers at using a property of the custom datagrid. Here is a quick photoshop showing what I am trying to do: Is there any custom component already built that will do this?
Is it possible to create Accordion with only the headers without adding any containers in it? Is there a way so that I can just create the Accordion with three sections with only labels?
I almost got it, but the part that's giving me trouble is making the header background transparent. I am making a custom MXML skin based on the default Spark DataGrid skin. I tried setting the contentBackgroundAlpha to 0 on the columnHeaderGroup and the headerRenderer, but that didn't work. I tried setting visible to false for either of those, but that made it so that the text didn't show up either, so that didn't work. There is no setting for backgroundAlpha in either of those two, so I'm not sure what else to try.
I am trying to find an easy and robust way to override the default layout of DataGrid and populate its values in a left-right fashion. To illustrate:My data model is an array of: {a: xxx1..n, b: yyy1..n, c: zzz1..n}The default DataGrid component will lay this out as:
a b c xxx1 yyy1 zzz1 xxx2 yyy2 zzz2 xxxn yyyn zzzn etc.
With "a", "b", and "c" as the headers, and x, y, z being their values for each object in the dataProvider.Now I want to lay this out horizontally like so:
a xxx1 xxx2 xxxn b yyy1 yyy2 yyyn c zzz1 zzz2 zzzn
I've searched around for an answer but haven't hit on anything. Perhaps I'm just using the wrong keyword searches...Regardless, if anyone knows a solution to this, be it as mundane as a property setting I've somehow missed, or a 3rd party component, etc.
ps: Eventually, this must be entirely tab-enabled and cell-editable. If you have an esoteric solution involving a multi-field itemRenderer, please keep this in mind. I mention this because I have attempted such a solution and have failed to penetrate DataGrid's Unfailing Field of Tab Vitiation (ie DataGrid seems to override tab functionality inside its itemRenderer, forcibly setting focus to the next renderer/editor).
I am using Flex 3 (ActionScript 3.0). I use the HTTP progressive download to play sound files. I want to secure the sound files, by only serving them when the request comes from my flex app. I chose the simplest solution of adding a HTTP header to each request send from the app. But flash.media.Sound object ignores the headers set in flash.net.URLRequest. Here's an example,
URLRequest sndFile = new URLRequest("http://blah.com/media/load_sound.php"); sndFile.requestHeaders = new Array(new URLRequestHeader("req-orgin", "myflexapp")); Sound snd = new Sound(sndFile); snd.play();
The value of req-origin comes as null in load_sound.php. When i inspect the request using Firebug, the request headers to [URL] doesn't contain the header.
I have a Flex client making RESTful calls to a webservice using HTTPService. The server is returning JSON responses, which we would like to compress. Can Flex using HTTPService handle gzip-encoded responses? If so, what steps are required to make it work (e.g., which headers to set, how to decompress, etc.)? If not, can you suggest a simple alternative?
I'm trying to reuse the HTTPService object in a flex app but I'm running into a problem. In the handler for ResultEvent.RESULT I'm removing the listener, but it isn't removed. I've have to catch the asyncToken from send() and attach a new property so I know what it's supposed to do in the handler.URL...You can right-click and view source.Has anyone else run into an issue where listeners aren't removed? Should HTTPService not be reused?
How can I set a progress bar that may start when an HTTPService is sent and stop when the HTTPService ends?I followed code given here but encountered following error Type was not found or was not acompile-time constant: ProgressWin.Don't know whether ProgressWin.mxml is a component or module or what. I just created a new ProgressWin.mxml file and pasted the code you posted but following error popped out before
XML is cool in flex, but I have an annoying problem to solve, caused by what I can imagine is a feature. You see, when you have just one tag of something, it creates an object which is not an array. But when finds more than one, it puts it on an array structure.[code]I could check the format of resObj.specifictag (to check if it is has an array) and then duplicate the code (for each case). But -even if it's calling a function- I don't think it is an elegant solution.Well, I hope someone has a good idea on this matter. (I know from experience that SO has much more C++ experts than flex, but well...)The perfect thing would be that HTTPrequest handled every tag in a consistent way (using always arrays... though I'm guessing that that would also have its drawbacks).
Why are there two different HTTPService classes in Flex?thisandthisAnd the second one inherits the first one.Why couldn't there be a single class combining the two?
I am using an HTTPService in my Flex application. I want to load several xml files, each about 1mb in size. Sometimes I need to stop loading previous xml file and start loading a new one. If I use HTTPService.cancel(); or HTTPService.disconnect() , it increase the time to get the answer from the server.Is there a quick way to stop the previous loading in HTTPService and start new one?
I am trying to create an desktop app where the user selects an XML doc via a FileSystemTree. Then at the click of a button, that xml doc selected will be loaded in as the XML doc of choice. So far I have it working only if i hardcode in the path, but i need to make it so that the user can select the file dynamically.
I am creating a RSS Feed application based on a data, and I have the following:
I have an ArrayCollection that is pre-populated with data. I am sorting through the ArrayCollection, get 1 piece of data (condition), and need to connect to an RSS feed which returns me the title, and I set my ArrayCollection in correspondence to condition -> title.
public function updateArrayList(list:ArrayCollection):ArrayCollection { trace(list); for(var i:int = 0; i < list.length; i++) { //Alert.show(list.getItemAt(i).condition);
