I have an swf that I created that contains links to other pages on our site. I can test this and it works fine. However, I then import that swf into my main fla's library. However, after I add it to the stage I test the main movie and the links that worked before in the imported swf no longer work. This seems like it should be a no brainer but for some reason it just isn't working.

This used to work - but not now. Even when I check my browser for pop-up/javascript enabling,it no longer works.
The site I'm building has seperate swf's for each page...and I have the external swfs loading into the site. But my problem is that when I am on one of the external swf pages that has been loaded, and it has buttons on it, none of these buttons work. They work when I test the swf by itself, but once my main movie loads the swf into the site, the buttons within the swf no longer work.
View 1 RepliesI'm pretty new to Flex. Basically, anything I try to build with mxmlc fails to run now, giving me the above three errors depending on what I do. It was working 30 minutes ago, I've been spending that time trying to figure out what has changed. I redownloaded the Flex SDK, cleared my assetcache, have cleared Firefox's cache. (I'm using Linux.) Even if I compile with -static-link-runtime-shared-libraries=false, since it seems like #2048 is a RSL problem, it still refuses to run.

In my flex-config file, then firebug tells me that my swf file is trying to access a copy of that in the app's folder, giving error 2032. And if I stick the one I have in frameworks/rsls/ then it gives me error 2046. I don't know how it could not be properly signed, unless Adobe magically changed a signature and didn't update their flex SDK.
Im trying to make a game at the moment, with a little character who runs around the screen. To do this i have keyboard event listeners on the character.I have an inventory which opens when you click a button, and has number of things to click on.My problem is that when i close the inventory, by clicking the close button, my keyboard event listeners no longer work on my character.
Keyboard events also dont work on the stage at this point, and i cant understand what i need to do.Its as if nothing has focus anymore for keyboard events. Mouse clicks still work fine.
I had FMS 3.5 developer package installed on my server installed about a month ago. I used to be able to go to the /webroot/ page to see the sample RTMP video play and it worked great. Today, I go to view that page and find that it no longer plays. I get "Connection Error. Please preee Play to try again."
Pressing the play button does nothing, so I click the RTMP thumbnail and it reloads ony to give me that same error again. I can click the HTTP thumbnail and see the video play just fine. But, I want RTMP and after over an hour on the phone with my managed hosting tech, we can't find anything wrong.
Here's the thing: I haven't done anything, I have not changed anything, I have not manipulated the server software whatsoever. It just stopped working and gives me "Connection Error."

I am trying to import an xml file and format it with the headers bold and links. I have tried formatting with html and a stylesheet. Here's a few code snippets and what happens with each.
This one has 'Render text as HTML' selected and traces everything correctly, but nothing comes up in the textbox...

how to get the headers to show up how I want,
I have a movie. In it are some buttons and a dynamic text field. When I press the buttons is should load text from a database into the dynamic text field. If I run the movie by itself (ie. not by LoadMovie()-ing it into a different movie) the dynamic text field gets filled with text and all is well and good. However, when I use LoadMovie() to load this very same movie into my main movie, the buttons no longer work; the text field stays empty.

I'm currently doing a spot of error checking with a website I've made. I've found a few problems with linking from action script to an external xml document when the files are uploaded on to a server (The files work just fine off line). The site is [URL], the pages in question are the blog page [URL] Again, both seem to work fine when I preview them locally. The blog page links to an rss feed on a myspace page and the sounds page should display an mp3 player and link to an xml playlist. I've searched this forum for similar problems and found some suggestions (File sizes of content to load and file structure) but neither seem to be responsible for this problem.

I have a flash movie launch over my webpage when the page loads what the problem is is that when the flash is completed and unloads in the area where the movie showed up the links are not clickable. I have my wmode set to transparent and even have the unloadMovie at the end of the movie, this problem only occurs when using firefox how can I fix it?

I have a flash accordion embedded using SWFObject. The SWF and related XML file are hosted on one domain. I have about 10 sites embedding this SWF from it's hosted location, both the SWF and the XML. The accordion links to various pages of my domains. The domain in which the SWF and XML file are hosted, the links work as expected. The other domains that the SWF is not hosted on, the links do not work at all. I verified it's a cross domain issue by placing the SWF and XML files locally on each domain and they worked, but this is not how I want it setup. I attempted to use crossdomain.xml and allow access from all hosts but that didn't work either.

This works fine in IE8, it works fine in the preview in flash, but in FF/Chrome the rollovers work but the link is not clickable. Nothing happens on click. I thought this was perhaps a plug in issue, but when I loaded the movie in FF but not embeded into html it worked fine, it's only when it's embedded into html that the links won't click. Im trying to make a projector movie that links to a pdf (in the same folder) on a CD that needs to run in both windows and mac. Im able to get it to work on a pc but not on mac. here is the code for the button i used in the projector.

and bat file open a pdf file.so i want to do the same thing for mac, that is using the fscommand to open up a pdf in acrobat. I read messages here that use applescript but i dont understand it too well so what id like to know if possible is the applescript, what it does and do i apply it to the button in my projector or do i tell the button to look at the applescript or what? I guess thats it for now.

And yet, when I click on my thumbnail, it does not generate a Shadowbox overlay. Instead, my browser follows an ordinary link to the animation. I've also tried Lightbox, Greybox, and Lightbox2, working at this problem for about twelve hours. My understanding of Javascript objects and classes is very limited. Web Development is not my career path.
I wrote a bit of actionscript to dynamically create an image gallery based on how many images are in a given directory. As of now, I've got it to display thumbnails in rows. My next step would be to get these thumbnails to link to the fullsize images.

ok it work! If I apply the graphic on symbol with cut and paste from Adobe Illustrator, it doesn't work. The error is :
