I'm using Flash CS3 Actionscript2 I'm using the FLVPlayback component and using SteelExternalAll as my skin.I noticed that the SeekBarHandle does not move while the video is playing. I can drag the handle to go to different parts of the video, but it does not move by itself as the video plays.I've already tried setting the total FLV video length in the parameters, but that didn't work.

View 1 RepliesI'm using the default CS4 FLVPlayback skin, mainly the SkinOverPlayMute.swf. I know there's a skinAutoHide option, but because I don't want it to auto play, I want people to see a play button when they first encounter the video (so they don't think it's just an image). But the skin needs to hide when the video is actually playing (so the video doesn't get blocked by the controls).
In other works - when video isn't playing: skin showing; when video is playing: skin hide.
i am trying to create a custom skin for my FLV component in CS5 ..but adobe's fla files have errors when i decompile...I get this error...

I have an .flv file I created and imported it into the Flash timeline and needed to use an Actionscript with it because I need it to loop when it's finished. I exported it to an .swf file but I can't find any way to use the "ClearOverPlayMute.swf" skin with it on my web page.
Flash doesn't export the swf file with any playback skins.
I am trying to create a FLV playback component (in Action Script 3) where the skin hides after the mouse is idle for a certain amount of time. I've read a lot of suggestions to set the skin to null (in action script)

As far as I can tell, there is no way to toggle visibility of the skin. The best I can do is turn the SkinBackgroundAlpha to 0, which does remove the background of the skin, but not any of the buttons or bars.
I have AJAX running on an application that opens up a new panel displaying a flash video. The flash video uses one of the FLV Playback skins. When I play the video on the panel, everything is fine. But, when I close the panel with the javascript-enabled button, the video would still play even though the panel and video are "gone" from the html page.
I was looking into using javascript to talk to actionscript to control the FLV Playback skin's stop function so that when the close panel function is activated, the video play's stop function would be called. How do I find out the path to and the name of the stop function inside the playback skin? Is it possible to call the stop function inside the FLV Playback skin? Or, would it be easier to create my own video controller?

View 1 RepliesWhy does my swf's skin referenced by a simple component FLA work locally but NOT live? There's no AS3 in the component FLA. It's just a one-layer component referenced to the the FLV. When I test locally, IN FLASH CS4 ONLY, and click on "Animalia - Verse From the Zoo" the FLV and skin load and the video (source FLV - "Sequence01.flv") plays. But the same thing live only loads the swf for the FLV file area but NO SKIN. Try it yourself, please:Has anyone had this problem and knows the solution? All files are in the SAME FOLDER on the web server. I've tried every URL and path combination I can think of on the website. I've tried referencing the whole URL.
Yet whatever path combination I try, either nothing happens, or I just get the FLV box but no skin. Which is what's happening now. Publish settings are set to Flash Player 10 for all files. And I've tried the component SWF WITH and WITHOUT the fl.video package (import fl.video.*. No difference. Why does the skin load and play locally but not live? It's all AS3. No AS2. And it does not seem to be a "publish settings" issue as far as I can see. The relevant code in my API is:

I created my flash video with a video skin I selected in CS4 and the skin file shows up in the same folder as the video but when I add the swf file to dreamweaver CS4 the controls that should show up underneath the video are not there.

I have tested the page in a browser from my computer and it works but it does work when loaded from the web. When I test the page on my computer in internet explorer it gave a blocked content warning but worked when I allowed blocked content.?

But when i embeded into a html... it plays the video but the skin does´t shows up.

I am wanting to play a number of movie clips and flash produced video clips. On the main timeline I have a frame for each clip I want to play. In that frame is a flash movie that contains the video that I have embedded onto the timeline for the movie. The filesize for this project is massive and I am struggling to work on the file. I want to be able to play the video files with the playback component in each of the frames where the video was.

I am using Flash Professional 8 and Dreamweaver 8 to maintain a website. I have just started using flash to show video highlights from high school football games which I record. Using iMovie I export the video as quicktime file and then import to flash to convert to a flash video file to post on the web site. The video coming out of iMovie has very good contrast and the quicktime movie has the same good contrast. When looking at the file in Flash the contrast changes dramatically. I becomes washed out. I am using Max OX 10.6 operating system.

I have tried adding video to dynamic page and everything is perfect .This video I have imported using the option File ->import video -> external video with playback component. If I try to execute flv on another system , the video is not playing eventhough it is in library.
So, I have imported video using the option of embedded video and this worked fine on another systems as it embeds video. The video plays for only 2 min 54 sec. I have compressed the bit rate to how much ever I can in premier pro. It resulted in reducing the size of the file but still I see the video occupying more than 3500 frames in the timeline. I feel this is not optimal.
I have loaded an external video with playback component in Flash CS4.
Now the question is do I need to add streaming script or not?
My brother is currently living overseas with his girlfriend and is flying home for a visit in August/September this year so I have decided to mark the occasion by creating a 3-scene Flash movie. Just there now I had the plane on the stage, I had the names moving towards the plane but when I played the scene back the text and the plane weren't on-screen at the same time, as the text and graphic were in different layers. My question is how do I make it look like the text is moving to get on the plane and vice versa as in the next scene I obviously want to have the plane flying towards the airport, (more text) i.e how do I merge the layers or is merging the layers not what I need to do?
View 6 RepliesI've been wondering something, websites like youtube (pandora does mp4s) play their music through a flash player. while each track is played, they're downloaded to the user's computer, e.g., /tmp/FlashXX*** This allows users to go and move the flv out of that folder for later playback.
However, when the user moves the flv out of the /tmp folder, the player continues to play the music/video quite happily. How does the flash player handle the removal of its file and why doesn't it throw errors from this?
More importantly, why are the flvs downloaded to the user in the first place if the player plays happily without them?
I am playing an swf on a VB.net form which works fine but I've added an FLV to another layer in the same swf and when I run it, the FLV doesn't appear. If I run the swf by itself the FLV appears. I've tried using the FLVPlayback component and tried coding the FLV with AS3, both work when I run the SWF by itself but the FLV still doesn't appear when run in VB.
View 3 RepliesI don't really know how to describe this problem but I'm going to give it a try. I am working in Flash cs3 using as3. I have a project with 5 scenes and button nav to jump between them. When I test the project scene 1-4 play fine however when I get to scene 5 the playback head doesn't move, it just stays parked on frame 1 (button nav works, animation does not). When I re-arrange the stacking order of my scenes the same problem will occur in a different scene that had previously played fine. This issue only occurs when i test the whole movie - if I test any scene by itself it plays fine. I am not getting any AS errors which adds to the frustration
View 7 RepliesI'm experiencing difficulty when playing sound files. When I start the playback of the timelime using the enter/return button everything plays as it should. When I press it again to stop, the visuals stop but the sound file in the timeline just keeps playing until it reaches the end of the track- even if I have cut some out of the timeline. I used to use mx 2004 and never had the problem. Note: I am using this in college not on a personal computer.

I'm using a play button, pause button, and a seek bar. All works fine and dandy until I add a UIScrollBar to a text field that's also on screen.... for some reason this really messes with the seekbar; if you start playing the video and drag the seek bar handle all the way back to the start of the video it doesn't start playing again, and if you then move the seekbar forward a bit the video starts but skips all over the place! It's really weird and the problem completely disappears as soon as i remove the UIScrollBar component from the library.
I am trying to get the f4v movie called myMovie.f4v to move forward one frame at a time every 10 seconds. I created a countdown that makes the movie play after x amount of seconds but I need to make the movie advance only one frame and the count again.

When I export the .swf file and drag it into Dreamweaver the skin does not show up.Once in Dreaweaver I set the parameters to wmode_transparent.If so how do I go around it b/c I will need it transparent.

View 4 RepliesI am importing a video into Flash using the wizard.When I get to the screen that asks about the skin for the controls, I choose custom and then type the URL:..for my player.When I try to upload the SWF that is generated, the player doesn't show up.I have checked the component inspector and see that the URL is indeed saved there and if you go to the URL of the custom player SWF, it loads.
