I currently have a login form in flash that needs to pass variables to a PHP script. That part works fine. The problem I am having is that when Flash passes the variables to PHP, it also passes the style of the input text.
For example, instead of passing "atomstore", it passes "<TEXTFORMAT LEADING="2"><P ALIGN="LEFT"><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE="12" COLOR="#000000" LETTERSPACING="0" KERNING="0">atomstore</FONT></P></TEXTFORMAT>".
This does not match the "atomstore" in the database and results in an error. How to get rid of all of these tags?
I have a question. How do you pass variables from flash to php? What I wanna do is, get the username and password entered in this form made in flash, when the submit button is hit, it will open and send these variables to login_processor.php. If the info is put in correctly, it will take them to a different page. The login_processor.pgp works for html form, but not for flash. In flash I have two input texts, and I gave them each their own var names.

I am trying to pass a variable into my flash from my html code. In my html flash code I have a variable "id" with a value:hotels. HTML Code:hotel_carousel.swf?id=hotelsIn my flash movie I want to use the value "hotels" in my xml.load() funtion. But I am having some trouble and I think it has to do with strings. I have used the kirupa tutorial for passing variables to a flash file, which in theory all makes sense, however my code only appears to partially work.. this if from frame 1 of the movie:

How can you bring in a path as a variable from php? I have hundreds of mp3 file names stored in a My SQL database and I want to call the name, load it into a variable and then have it replace the URL in the call to the sound file. I am all set with the PHP and database side of things, but I have been frustrated with the Flash part. I think it would just involve passing a variable from php to flash. The web pages we are building would eventually have 10 - 15 files per page and each one would have a different sound file and a different image that you could click to trigger the sound. First click would start the file and the second would stop the sound. The images and sound files are all stored in the database.I found this code on another post and it is basically what I want to do. Still missing the button part, but if I can figure out the variable from PHP I think it will open up a bunch of new options.

The movie runs fine and shows no errors, but when my browser opens forms.html the data is not there. I assume this is because I'm using navigateToURL(new URLRequest("form.html) and therefore opening a new instance of form.html rather than the one I've already loaded into flash. Am I right? and if so how do I open the pre-loaded version? Or....am I way off and have failed to understand something quite basic?

An AIR application that load an html page which contain some forms. I want to pass values from flash to html and then submit data. Don't suggest other possible variants, i have experience using URLLoader, amfphp, blazeds e.t.c. View 9 RepliesI made a login form using flash and made it pass it's variable to php for validation. I have two (2) variables from my php file that I want to pass to flash so it can control my movie. When I pass those two (2) variables, the first one has no problem. My dynamic textfield displays the value that the php sends but when I pass the second variable from my php to flash and displays it in my other dynamic text field, it displays the value but it appears to have html tags i.e.,

Okay, there is something that I don't quite understand. I built a flash contact form in Flash CS4 and embedded the swf in my webpage using Dreamweaver CS4. I upload the files in my server but why it's not working? I created a test folder in my folder and it does work... (It doesn't work here) [URL] The problem is that I'm not receiving the information when the user enters and submits the information on the contact form. I do receive the information on the test link. I'm posting the Flash AS and PHP Code to see if anyone can point out any mistake that I'm doing.

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to develop a site map, which draws a tick over the sections of my app that have been completed. I've figured out how to draw the tick and how to pass variables from root to the MovieClip that the function is in.
To make the tick appear only after an mc has been watched, I tried setting a variable equal to 1 ino the last frame of the MovieClip, and telling the function to run if that variable was 1.
I'm not getting compiler errors, but I'm also not getting the tick. And I'm definitely completing the Movie

Creating a flash project where users can visit the site, and turn off/on objects in a house (ie. lights, tv, computer, etc.) The next user who will visit the house in the website, will see what lights or house appliances were left on. Flash variables are passed to PHP, and those variables are saved in an XML file. (For testing to see what is being saved to the XML file, on each click --vars.xml opens.) In the vars.xml file, I see that the house objects that were last turned on--are saved in the XML file- But in the SWF file, only one of the objects that are listed in the XML are turned ON. Only the last object that was clicked on would show ON--not all the objects in the XML file.)
