I have followed this link to republish my local stream to other local application instance : [URL]
i have used this script code into main.asc and it is working :
// Called when the client publishes
application.onPublish = function(client, myStream) {
trace(myStream.name + " is publishing into application " + application.name);
I have justed started using Flash Media server so this could be a really easy one to answer or not even possible.I have Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 3 publishing to Adobe Flash Media Server 3.5 which then publishes this live stream to two CDN providers. I want to publish the stream with a different name to each CDN. Anyone know howI can do this without having FMLE3 publishing a backup stream and then FMS having to process two differently named streams?I.E.FMLE publishes a stream called bobThis is then published to CDN1 as bob and I then want to publish it to CDN2 as bob2Below the main.asc for the application but it ignores the second stream name and publishes to CDN2 with bob
I'm developping a FMS 4 application that read an external stream, and then, republish it in multicast:
1.- So, first of all I open a NetConnection to the remote application. And I associate it to a new Stream created in the application. Then I have the stream available in my application.
nc = new NetConnection(); nc.connect(REMOTE_APPLICATION); nc.onStatus = function(info)
[Code].....
But, I don't know who would be the client in the registerStream method. Which reference should I add there? Is it possible in this way?
I made another different script that republish that stream in localhost using NetConnection.publish(localhost/sameapplication). It works properly. But I would like to be able of managing it in the other way.
I would like to "pull" a stream from a remote FMS to a local FMS and record this stream in the local server.I couldn't find a way to pull this stream, I can only publish/push. As I can not save scripts to the remote FMS I can not push the stream to my local FMS.I was looking into the NetStream class in the FMS and there is no way to play a stream from the remote server.
I'm having a reliability problem with publishing live, h.264 streams from FFMPEG (using the rtmp publish ability now built into FFMPEG, where I can set an rtmp address as the output).After a random period of time (usually between an hour and several hours), the default "live" application in FMS 4 (or 3.5) eventually drops the connection from the FFMPEG encoder. This is what appears in the log for the application:"Dropping application (live/_definst_) message. Clients not allowed to broadcast message."After googling the error, I discovered that people have been reporting this error for several years, but there has not been a single response from any FMS experts or Adobe about what causes the error.
I am Trying to Apply some information Like text and An Image as an overlay to create a overlay effect as lice a security camera with time and date on the video along with a png based Logo.
I can record VIDEO Using Flex and FMS or any other Media Server. But I want to save a modified version of the stream being uploaded.
The auth_addin works as expected when using the Flash Media Live encoder requiring a username and password before publishing a stream.However, tools like Wirecast and even the sample broadcasting SWF that comes in the FMS Introduction page can publish a stream without providing any credentials!
I currently have two connections with two separate streams. They both hit the same fms 3.5 server. One connection transfers live audio and video. The other one is used for remote objects. Sometimes when viewing the audio and video stream with a slower internet connection, the stream for the shared objects disconnects. I think it is a bandwidth issue. Is there any way to set the priority of the streams? I think this should allow me to set a higher priority for the shared object connection so it won't disconnect.
I have Flash Media Streaming Server 3.5 (not Interactive) running on RHEL5.5 x86_64 Linux.All is working well, however how do I prevent unauthorized access to connecting to the live stream and streaming content?How can I setup the server to require a user and password to stream live media to the server?I am new to this product and I have been reading some documentation but I have not found a clear cut answer on how to force a username and password to connect to the server to stream live content only.I am using the Adobe FMS Apache install, what files need changing?[code]I want to lock down a person from connecting to the server on the public internet and starting a live stream?Can this be done with a user name and password?
when i try to live stream with FMS! I can stream video with Flash media live encoder to the server but when i create the player to recieve the livestream from server,i can not recieve the live stream,can anyone give me a step by step tutorial of how to do it?
Only just getting started on this whole domain of learning, so go easy!If I set up a P2P video/audio chat (similar to the sample VideoPhone thing on the Cirrus site), can I get the stream from both parties to send to a server at the same time so that I can record it? If so, would I have to use a FMS to stream it to and perform the recording (and if so which version could I get away with)? Are there any (preferably free, or just tutorialised) solutions for the recording side of things?
Currently it seems like the only option for doing the P2P thing is to use Stratus/Cirrus unless I use FMS4 Enterprise.
how effective this kind of situation can be, in terms of quality of the stream and recording? Does any of this make sense?
I've had FMS running on my local machine for a while and have had a little experience writing FMS apps, but I've just tried recording audio for the first time using the standard vod application and I keep getting a "Write access denied for stream" error. My AS3 code is copied and pasted for various examples and am confident that it works.
I'm running Windows XP service pack 3 & FMIS 3.5.
I've had a look at the vod/media directory and under windows->properties the read-only attribute is ticked. Every time I un-tick this it reverts back to being ticked. I've googled this and MS say that most programs ignore the read-only attribute and that it only really applied to files. I've also tried the MS fix for setting the read-only attribute via cmd and still no joy (doesn't fix read-only attribute or FMS recording the audio after setting via cmd).
I've also tried our dev server install of FMS (running under linux) and am getting the same results.
Here's my AS3 code...
private function initApp(event:Event):void { removeEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE,initApp);
i test the fms 4 update 1 rtmfp streams multicast after 10 minutes i get this message RTMFP Multicast stream has exceeded max duration allowed; closing stream. but i do not use IP multicast
I build a client side application where is only a FLVPlayback2.5 component and a short AS3 script.

My Encoder is setup with three streams: Vid: 500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbpsVid: 800 kbps - Audio: 48 kbpsVid: 1500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbps I start the encoder and everything looks fine in the log. In my browser (Safari or Firefox) I go to my html site and the stream starts after 6-8 sec. But anytime with the lowest bitrate 548 kbps and nothing look like the stream is switching to another bitrate. I tried it with the smil playlist and the result is the same. Only the lowest bitrate is plublished.
I have recently installed FMIS 3.5.3. In checking the access logs I find data in both logs that display the same stream stop and stream play time .I'm not sure why the time is the same (00:19:27 example below). Videos play fine when testing from work (T3 connection). However, occasionally a very slight hesitation when playing video from home (I have cable connection). [code]...
I'm having a problem with recording a live webcam stream. The last few seconds of the stream is getting cut off. The recording is stopped with the following piece of code:
The instructions for installation only cover installation on "localhost". I'm wondering if I could use the development server for a small scale website depolyment with restricted traffic, from a commercial server, such as goDaddy?And if so, what''s the method? Do I download the package from Adobe to my local hard drive and install over the network, or copy the package to the server and install it online?
I'm using the RTMFP protocol to publish and play video and audio, but i'm with a little problem. I installed the FMS 4 Development Server in a Windows Server machine located in our local network and it works perfectly. In order to deploy our application, we have a remote server with a fresh install of the Ubuntu 10.04 Server, and the FMS 4 installed in this server. In other server we have the Java and Flex application, which will be used in the client browser.
The problem is that when trying to change the NetConnection url to the remote FMS server, which is the Ubuntu server, the netconnection can't connect to it. When changing to the RTMP protocol it connects, but with the RTMFP don't. I can't find any information in the log files or anything else.
I'm trying to stream a HDS live multi-bit stream, it seems to push to the FMS but my player doesn't display the stream.Are these settings and files correct? The documenation is confusing on what and which files need to be edited and/or created.
Encoder settings: Bit Rate: 150,500,700 FMS URL: rtmp://myserver/livepkgr Stream: liveevent%i?adbe-live-event?liveevent
FMS 4.5
I see the following directories being created when I start encoding and each directory has a single file with a .stream extension in them. Are these correct? fC:FMS-HOMEapplicationslivepkgrevents\_definst_liveevent1[code].....
I am writing a game where positions of an object are being exchanged between the two flash clients through a java server. The secnario goes simply like this:
PlayerA ---> Server : "Position X + Position Y+ " Server ---> PlayerB: "Position X + Position Y+ "
and it works both ways of course.the problem here is that on my computer where i use "localhost" everything is fine and the data is exchanged seamlessly .. when I loaded the server on a remote host the message received strangely turns into something like "Position X + NaN" (i.e. the y position is wrongly parsed by the server), what is weird even more, is that sometimes, the message gets parsed correctly..the server is wrote in java and it is exactly the same source code that works on my machine that fails over the internet
I use the Windows MEdia Server, but iŽd like to migration to FMS. I set a login and passwrod on WMS to Encoder to use. Using FMS, how can i do to set a login and/or password for use by Flash Media Encoder?
I have a FMS 3 in on a linux server and I have a ViewCast Niagara Pro II encoder. I can publish to the FMS 3 no problem but how to I limit who can publish to the server, because currently I can use the free Adobe Media Encoder to connect to the server and publish with no authorization which tells me anybody could do the same if they just input the rtmp url and feed name.
I'm new to Adobe Flash and I'm just trying out the Flashe Media Server 4.5 to stream live video on a local machine. I'm using a FLME 3.2 to capture the video from my digital camera, which works fine, and I can connect to the server with no worries as well. But I have issues streaming the content in the Sample Video Player that comes with the server.
[Code]....
I've also tried playing some sample videos on it. it even refuses to play those. What could be the problem??
I`m using FMIS 3.5.2 (windows xp) and was trying to make this example working URL...When my flash media live encoder connects to 'livestreams/ localnews' publishing point i got in logs:CSAAACPI is connectedSending error message: Method not found (releaseStream).Sending error message: Method not found (FCPublish).localnews is publishing into application livestreams/_definst_Republishing the stream into "livestreams/anotherinstance"Stream Status: NetStream.Publish.StartThe stream is now publishing.When i`m trying to connect to the "livestreams/localnews" with flash media player i can see the stream from my webcam but when i`m trying to connect to republished stream 'livestreams/anotherinstance' i got nothing.Player says "loading..." and shows nothing.
One server - is streaming server with Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5that host the application with asc files in FMS application directory.Second server - is the IIS web server that host thehtml,aspx,swf etc.. files.So basically i heve swf file on one server that have to connect to live streaming via rtmp on different server with different ip address.I did not find any clear explanation on this crossdomain rmtp issue.ys only HTTP can use crossdomain.xml policy filebut not rmtp.So what policy security procedure need to be done in order to enableswf file hosted on one server to connect and show rmtp live cam broadcasting from another server?
There's just one thing I still don't get about the sample app: As a client, you always have to check the checkboxes (send/receive Audio/Video) in order to define who is sending/receiving what kind of stream. How is it possible to manage the feeds from the FMS server? So the clients can't set the checkboxes, but the server determines who is sending and who is receiving?
I'm currently having an issue with FMS4 developer edition on both Linux (x64) and Windows XP (x86).When I stream a webcam using ns.publish("foobar", "live") I can watch the live stream on another client, however when i use ns.publish("foobar", "record"); neither broadcasting nor recording works.Using the "live" parameter the client appears in the log files and in the administration console as "publishing", using "record" the client appears as "idle".Is there anything I need to configure besides LIVE_DIR in fms.ini?
Is this a restriction in the developer edition? Here is the relevant part of the code (condensed):
