Actionscript 3 :: Special Characters - Send A Message From A Flash Contact Form To PHP
Jan 22, 2012
I need to send a message from a Flash contact form to PHP. Do I need to encode characters like ' " < > & because of possible XSS attacks or something else?
I am working with a form (Flash and PHP), everything works great, but the characters like , or doesn't appear in the resulting FORM e-mail. I use a text file with script to send the email off (contacto.php3)
1) Each field in the form only allows 3 characters and no special characters such as @ _ ! . , etc... 2) When the user goes to the next field in the form, the previous field appears blank but the when clicking on that again, the original text appears. 3) When submitting the form, it just keeps saying "in progress" and never shows the confirmation text nor does the email get sent. There is an HTML file included with this form but I am not sure if I need to put that in as I have embedded this form into an SWF file so I don't think I need that code but let me know if I am wrong about this. I am posting both the AS code and PHP code below..
again (".)I've making this contact form on flash & i got the script for the action script but i'm unable to integrate a php script that would send the mail from my form.I'm using two input feilds with instance names as theEmail and theMessage Here is the action action script code i'm using -
I'm using a really simple PHP contact form. It works well and sends the information to my email but it will not go to the 'Thank you' message on the next frame.[code]...
The form is not sending a message to my email. I am not sure whether the problem is in the AS 3.0 code or the PHP code, anyway here's the code: Actionscript 3.0 code: function handCursor(e:MouseEvent):void { e.target.buttonMode=true; e.target.useHandCursor=true; } build variable name for the URL Variables loader var variables:URLVariables = new URLVariables; [Code] .....
I am creating a website in flash CS4 and I made a contact form and when I test the site out, I can type and click the submit button, so everything is fine there but it doesn't go to anything. Now I know I need a code to tell the contact form where to go, but I can't find one that works, or I may be doing something wrong. I also have been reading about PHP but I am not sure what that is. I found a site that said to put this code in the actions panel.
I added a contact form to a site, and the input fields aren't allowing numbers or certain letters. If I test the contact form swf by itself, it works fine. But as soon as I test it in the site, the problem occurs. I haven't got any other actionscript around the contact form, so am puzzled. The site is [URL] - the contact link is on the bottom left menu.
I am currently using a flash template from flashmo.com and i have installed it etc... The problem I have is that when you go to send a message in the contact form you cannot enter certain characters in the email box, especially the '@' symbol.
i created this contact form in flash 8 and i get the email but an UNDEFINED message pops up on my status i cant get rid of it here is my action script for the submit button
How would I gather the same information that's possible in an HTML form? For instance, I would like to get the IP of the sender, such as:<input type="hidden" name="env_report" value="REMOTE_HOST, REMOTE_ADDR, REMOTE_USER, HTTP_USER_AGENT">I've been getting so much spam from my Flash site, I have to figure this out.
I have a contact form and i have a little problem when it comes to send a mail. I have the string message saying that the message has been sent but the receiver just get an empty message, empty email address from the sender etc... in other words the mail get send but it is empty.
I am trying to get down to the bottom of my problem with a contact form I'm using for a client. My code is as follows:
[code]...
The issue I'm having is that when I hit the submit button on my form, it doesn't send the information through. It just stays stuck on sending.... and doesn't send any information. I then ran a test with an even simpler code:Just to see if it was even connecting and I recieved this error:
Warning: mail() [function.mail]: Failed to connect to mailserver at "127.0.0.1" port 25, verify your "SMTP" and "smtp_port" setting in php.ini or use ini_set() in
D:hostingmembershieldvhmmailtest.php on line 2
Now I don't have access to the host server because I'm not the owner. I just designed the site for the client and I have been having these issues with the form. I did test it on my server and everything worked fine which led me to believe that the problem lies in the php settings of their host server. I contacted the host server and this is what they sent me: "Dear client, 127.0.0.1 is localhost which you cannot use to send email. Please make use of your mail server to and send and provide SMTP authentication to the remote server. Note that the FROM address has to be the same as login email.
I'm using Flash CS3 and ActionScript 2. I've created a simple contact page, inside a movie clip (because I got it fading in and out), I've put the script on the main timeline, so not inside the movie, but the send and reset buttons won't respond all. I've checked the instance names and spellings are correct, here's the script I'm using:
[Code]...
ps. contact_tween is the name of movie I created to fade the whole contact page in and out.
I followed the contact form tutorial and created my own "join mailing list" form, but I want it to send you a confirmation when you press send on the form.
in my projects i often use some xml files to load external text that i can format in css and it worked fine till now..i have a site that i am prograaming in italian and german and in both languages there is much text that contains special characters as "à " "ò" "è" "ù" "ä" "ü" and so on .. the problem is that when i write some text with this special characters in xml when the text is loaded in the flash this special characters are not recognised and instead of them a small square is displayed ..
i tryed to load the text from a html file instead of a xml file (because in HTML i know how to write theese special characters and let them display right in my html pages .. for example à = à but no way .. the flash now loades the text à instead of à ..
I am having issue with my created flash, it can't handle chinese characters? is there some way i can handle this thru code? or should there be any font or language pack installed
the source files work perfectly when I upload them to my server - but when I insert the form into my flash website - I am unable to receive the contact email at all. The problem must be with the flash file becuase I have not altered the php (except to send to my email)
I am using Flash CS3 (but publishing for action script2) I have double checked all my input field sare named correctly with var_names that match the php code. The form fields have been created as a moviclip named "form" and the following action script attached:
I've build a guestbook in flash, which works together with a PHP file and a textfile. The problem is that the guestbook doesn't show any special characters... In the textfile they do appear, but not in the flashfile... So flash uploads the text fine, but when it want to download the text...it leaves all the special characters out...
I have a flash-application (done with CS4) in which a particular Textbox, which is vertical fails to display characters with a hacek (ˇ) on top. If such a character appears with in a string that is to be shown, it is simply dropped, leaving the string crippled.
This baffles me since characters with hacek work on other (horizontal) textfields in the same .swf with the same Font (Arial) work just fine. I also tried manually telling flash to embed these characters for this textfield, but to no avail. Even entering characters with hacek in the flash IDE works without problems.
I am not very familiar with flash, this application has been developed by a co-worker who is no longer employed here.
I have a question concerning the use of 'special characters'. I am making a flash movie targeting people whom speak Swedish, and I need the three last characters in our alphabet to do this. I have a MySql database with the data in it sending it to my flash movie
I though I just needed to include my font, specify the character ranges and write in any special characters in the window at the bottom but that did nothing, the characters are just omitted when I try to show em in flash Code: System.UseCodePage=true; I saw that some where and added it too , but that just gave me errors.
I made a page with a dynamic textfield which gets its text from an xml file. The text is italian, so contains characters as. None of these are recognised if I test my page, instead of these letters I see blank spaces. -I tried with embed, include special characters autofill, but that didn't do anything. -I read an article on this site about embedding international characters which says to put System.useCodePage=true; I did so, but got an error message. Does anybody know how to solve this problem?
I have recently run into a problem when loading an external xml file into actionscript 3. Flash does not want to read special characters for some reason! My XML doc is "uni-8" and I've tried using regular - letter and to describe the character but no luck so far.
I am modifiing a flash-application and have got quite far. However, I am stuck with a problem: it is not possible to type in the Danish letters in the application UI, it does simply not respond to these. This is probably because the letters were not embedded/included in the external font file (which is a swf), that the application use as a resource. I have tried to swap the font swf-file with a homemade one but it does not seem to be wellformed, since the application now does not allow any writing at all.
