How would you connect a flash with the js on another page?
For example, if I had a flash game opened on one computer, but the user can only interact with the game with js on another computer.
Created an editable flex grid which exposes a method called getGridData() to javascript. I am using the JSON.encode() method of the [url]....library to convert the grid object's dataProvider into JSON before returning it.

However, when I sort a column in the user interface, the encode method is failing throwing the following error

I'm working on a Flash AS2 application that needs to post JSON data to a web service.In previous projects, I've used LoadVars.send() or LoadVars.sendAndLoad() successfully to manage this:

In somepage.php, I can grab that JSON data using $_POST['data'].However, on this project, the developer of the web service requires the JSON content to be the BODY of the request (i.e., not a name/value pair). Is this possible with LoadVars?

I have to work with webservices in Actionscript. I found the following code that allows me to use JSON URLs that implement only the GET method. However, it doesn't work for POST methods (doesn't even enter the "onComplete" method). How can i "POST" JSON data using Actionscript 3.0?

View 6 RepliesI am working on a flash piece that is composed of one master swf that has five options/sections within it. Each option loads two separate swfs that operate at the same time. Within those swfs are url links which open in the same window, replacing the page with the flash piece on it. Is it possible to link back from the opened url in a way that will go to the frame in the main swf's timeline that will reload the relevant swfs?
I had suggested just targeting a _blank window but the person I am attempting this for doesn't want that.
How do they disable the control border around a swf by default when a page in explorer opens?

View 1 RepliesI have 2 swf's and a activex media player on an asp page. I want the buttons on my swf to control what live stream the activex player plays. The stream urls are in a webservice that i connect with one swf then send to the other swf using "localconnection". So when you click on a button on the first swf, it then sends a list of available streams to the other swf, displaying them in their designated dynamic text fields, which are located on top of their corresponding buttons. In my "localconnection" i send both the name and the url from the first swf to the second. Basically I want to know if its possible to click on a button in a swf and control what stream is played through the media player on the same asp page.

View 1 Repliesi'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

I have a master page and a child page and have placed the javascript code inside the child page for flash movie.
The problem is the movie seems working when there is a alert on, without at least one alert msg, the code does not work, I am sure you people can solve, I can see that the following code works well in both Mozilla and IE, but only if the alert is ON, if I put it off, then the code does not work. Can anybody tell me what is the workaround :

How would I go about doing this in Actionscript 3? I'm more concerned with figuring out how to get the data to feed to a JSON parser rather than parsing the JSON, since there seem to be plenty of questions about parsing JSON.
