ActionScript 2.0 :: Click On A Button In A Swf And Control What Stream Is Played Through The Media Player On The Same Asp Page
May 20, 2009
I have 2 swf's and a activex media player on an asp page. I want the buttons on my swf to control what live stream the activex player plays. The stream urls are in a webservice that i connect with one swf then send to the other swf using "localconnection". So when you click on a button on the first swf, it then sends a list of available streams to the other swf, displaying them in their designated dynamic text fields, which are located on top of their corresponding buttons. In my "localconnection" i send both the name and the url from the first swf to the second. Basically I want to know if its possible to click on a button in a swf and control what stream is played through the media player on the same asp page.
i have my main timeline with all the code on the first layer all is good there. But then inside a movie clip that is inside another that plays an animation i have some more code to load an external swf.
the code works fine i have tested it but it does not seem to want to work when its put in the timeline inside a movieclip.
I know i can put it on the first main stage layer with all my code and it will work but i want it only to work after i click a button and that button has played its animation.
I recently used one of those XSPF Flash player buttons on a website and of course it worked, played back music automatically, stops when you click button... but one weird thing I noticed is the song being cut off before it ends... One song I have is 4 minutes long, and only plays for 1.5 minutes..
I would like to embedd into our application which is running in DirectX fullscreen player of Flash video stream protected with DRM. How can we achive it? Is it possible to buy library as for Microsoft DRM?
I have read that you can stream protected audio/video to iOS based devices with the new FMS 4.5.Is it also possible to stream protected A/V to a HTML5/JS based Player.
I'm playing live stream supporting FMLE from FMS. There is no problem with playing if we are starting at first the player and then we are starting the stream with FMLE. The video skipping problem is occurs only if we are starting first the stream with FMLE and than our player. The versions: FMLE 3.0.1.5963, FMIS 4.0.0, Flash Player 10.1.53.64, and codec h.264 Is this a bug in FMS/FMLE or I'm doing something wrong?
is it possible to play video stream from non-adobe(or homebrew server), in the newest flash player(10).It looks like the VideoPlayer only plays the stream from FMS? Is it the business model of Adobe?
I'm new on FMS, but I've managed to create a web page with an embedded player that shows a live stream that I capture with a webcam and FMS. What I need is to be able to pause the live stream from the web page player and to play it again from the point I've paused it. I thought to stream a live video and save it to a file on the server as well, but I don't know how to tell the player to start from the end of the file rather than the begining of it. The client should connect to the page and see the live stream, but he can pause it and continue watching it later from that point, but if a different client connects, he should see the live stream.
I created a movieclip animation that only activates when i rollover the movieclip button. I further extended the frames and created another frame animation that i active only when user clicks the button. So i have a roll over/out animation and click animation in the same movieclip in the same layer. Now the problem is that when i click on the button, its supposed to take me to another page, and it does, unfortunately without the click animation. That means after i click on the button its supposed to first finish the click animation and then go to another page. But when i click, it takes me to another page without showing the click animation
SO I tried the If function, but i seem to make a mistake somewhere and i dont know what to do. Now there is no error in script, but onw there is a problem in link, the button finishes the click animation but it does not go to the tarrgeted"about" frame. here's the code
I have a movie clip that loads in the main timeline, when i click on any of my buttons theres a quick flash of the main page. Im loading my movies on level 1 so i guess my question is, how do i get rid of the movie on the main time line?
I am trying to create a flash player to stream an on online Internet radio station using FMS. I chose FMS after being told that I need RTMP server to extract the metadata. Our radio audio is being encoded using a DJ interface called SAM Broadcaster. But for some reason, it does not have an option to send over the stream directly to a Flash Media Server. Only options are either IceCAST or ShoutCAST. How should i setup the stream? Should it be Stream encoder>> IceCAST/SHOUTCast Server>>Flash Media Server>>Flash Player Client. Or should I setup Stream Encoder>>Flash Media Server>>Flash Player Client? Shouldn't Flash Media Server be an alternative to IceCast or Shoutcast? If that is the case, how do I send over the stream from SAM Broadcaster directly to Flash Media Server without restreaming through another streaming server?
Basically, I have a button and on click it displays a menu. I want to click that menu a second time and the menu closes. Currently, every time you click the button, the menu reopens. I pasted the Flex livedoc example below. If you click the button, the menu keeps reopening. Now, I rigged it up by setting a var to open and closed, so when clicking the button it does a check. However, if you click away from the screen, the HIDE event gets dispatched, and the menu closes. This messed up the open close var being set.
How could I make this Flex example below show the menu on button click, and then on a second button click, it closes the menu? Take into affect that if you click away from the menu, it closes it.Also, I played around with the MOUSE_DOWN_OUTSIDE event for the button and set the preventDefault, and the FlexMouseEvent event.cancelable is set to false.Changing to a PopUpMenuButton is not an option. I have to much skinning involved. Here is the Flex example:
<mx:Script> // Import the Menu control. import mx.controls.Menu;
When I place the .swf, smil and http files on the FMS server the SMIL stream test sample works fine But When I move the files to my web server I get Connection error. This is the same issue discussed in [URL].. I added a 'base' variable but it did not work for me. The SMIL file has the correct path to the sample files and FMS server
I am able to stream files from my html file on my webserver not the FMS server by pointing to the FMS server at rtmp://200.200.200.23/vod/mp4:sample1_1500kbps.f4v Is this a domain security setting? If so, where do I change it? If not How do I get FMS to stream SMIL files without installing a webserver with FMS?
i'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,
function over(event:MouseEvent):void { this.gotoAndPlay(30);} function out(event:MouseEvent):void {[code].....
how I can control two events on one (the same) button click. On click, the first function must jump the user to a particular frame label and at the same time trigger a second function which is a movie clip on that particular frame. I must note that the event listener is attached to an actual Button and not a movie clip.
Only just getting started on this whole domain of learning, so go easy!If I set up a P2P video/audio chat (similar to the sample VideoPhone thing on the Cirrus site), can I get the stream from both parties to send to a server at the same time so that I can record it? If so, would I have to use a FMS to stream it to and perform the recording (and if so which version could I get away with)? Are there any (preferably free, or just tutorialised) solutions for the recording side of things?
Currently it seems like the only option for doing the P2P thing is to use Stratus/Cirrus unless I use FMS4 Enterprise.
how effective this kind of situation can be, in terms of quality of the stream and recording? Does any of this make sense?
I've had FMS running on my local machine for a while and have had a little experience writing FMS apps, but I've just tried recording audio for the first time using the standard vod application and I keep getting a "Write access denied for stream" error. My AS3 code is copied and pasted for various examples and am confident that it works.
I'm running Windows XP service pack 3 & FMIS 3.5.
I've had a look at the vod/media directory and under windows->properties the read-only attribute is ticked. Every time I un-tick this it reverts back to being ticked. I've googled this and MS say that most programs ignore the read-only attribute and that it only really applied to files. I've also tried the MS fix for setting the read-only attribute via cmd and still no joy (doesn't fix read-only attribute or FMS recording the audio after setting via cmd).
I've also tried our dev server install of FMS (running under linux) and am getting the same results.
Here's my AS3 code...
private function initApp(event:Event):void { removeEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE,initApp);
i test the fms 4 update 1 rtmfp streams multicast after 10 minutes i get this message RTMFP Multicast stream has exceeded max duration allowed; closing stream. but i do not use IP multicast
I build a client side application where is only a FLVPlayback2.5 component and a short AS3 script.

My Encoder is setup with three streams: Vid: 500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbpsVid: 800 kbps - Audio: 48 kbpsVid: 1500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbps I start the encoder and everything looks fine in the log. In my browser (Safari or Firefox) I go to my html site and the stream starts after 6-8 sec. But anytime with the lowest bitrate 548 kbps and nothing look like the stream is switching to another bitrate. I tried it with the smil playlist and the result is the same. Only the lowest bitrate is plublished.
I have recently installed FMIS 3.5.3. In checking the access logs I find data in both logs that display the same stream stop and stream play time .I'm not sure why the time is the same (00:19:27 example below). Videos play fine when testing from work (T3 connection). However, occasionally a very slight hesitation when playing video from home (I have cable connection). [code]...
I'm having a problem with recording a live webcam stream. The last few seconds of the stream is getting cut off. The recording is stopped with the following piece of code:
How would I create an effect so that when a user clicks a button, the page scrolls off the screen while a new one comes in? Would I create the page at like its width+the page width? would i have to create a whole different page for difference screen resolutions? (because my page takes up the whole width of the screen using the chromeless window script).
I'm trying to stream a HDS live multi-bit stream, it seems to push to the FMS but my player doesn't display the stream. Are these settings and files correct? The documenation is confusing on what and which files need to be edited and/or created.
Encoder settings: Bit Rate: 150,500,700 FMS URL: rtmp://myserver/livepkgr Stream: liveevent%i?adbe-live-event?liveevent
FMS 4.5
I see the following directories being created when I start encoding and each directory has a single file with a .stream extension in them. Are these correct? fC:FMS-HOMEapplicationslivepkgrevents\_definst_liveevent1[code].....
Today, I put a video into my website, the only problem is that I'd like to give it a close button (that would close the player, or make it invisible). How could I do that?
I want to have an application where the user click on a movieclip, and is then taken to a another page. What I need is the code so as a user clicks a moviceclip (for example MC_1) it holds a variable (say = 1), as the movieclip is pushed a movie plays which at the ends checks for the variable change and then re-directs the user some where?
I've uploaded a video produced by Camtasia, but it's not played at all! Have a look: [URL] You see that the video is being downloaded, but not played.
The player is ARPlayer 1.7. The video is a mp4 file.
The file is perfectly played on a local computer, but after uploading to ftp stops being played. I don't why...
P.S. It's interesting that if I make simply an swf-video file, it's played good: [URL]. But I don't like this option, because the swf-video is 30MB vs 5MB of the mp4-video.
