How would I create an effect so that when a user clicks a button, the page scrolls off the screen while a new one comes in? Would I create the page at like its width+the page width? would i have to create a whole different page for difference screen resolutions? (because my page takes up the whole width of the screen using the chromeless window script).

View 4 RepliesI created a movieclip animation that only activates when i rollover the movieclip button. I further extended the frames and created another frame animation that i active only when user clicks the button. So i have a roll over/out animation and click animation in the same movieclip in the same layer. Now the problem is that when i click on the button, its supposed to take me to another page, and it does, unfortunately without the click animation. That means after i click on the button its supposed to first finish the click animation and then go to another page. But when i click, it takes me to another page without showing the click animation
SO I tried the If function, but i seem to make a mistake somewhere and i dont know what to do. Now there is no error in script, but onw there is a problem in link, the button finishes the click animation but it does not go to the tarrgeted"about" frame. here's the code

I have a movie clip that loads in the main timeline, when i click on any of my buttons theres a quick flash of the main page. Im loading my movies on level 1 so i guess my question is, how do i get rid of the movie on the main time line?

Is there a way to make sure that the new frame is at the top?I have tried using

The ScrollPane loads a swf file which loads a .jpg. The jpg can be long, and should scroll.It works fine locally, and worked fine before I loaded a jpg (when I had the jpg in the swf), but on the live site it only works when I click a menu item the second time. Before that the scrollpane does not load. I wait around thinking its a loading time issue but this does not seem to be the case

View 1 RepliesI have a button that when hovered over scrolls out to reveal the page. I then want it so that when someone rolls out from the button, it then scrolls back in to how it started. This seems to work ok, with just one small problem, the page doesn't necessarily always stay scrolled out, even if you don't move the cursor away from the hit area of the button. I have a flash file which contains a simplified version of the button as I would to achieve it working, and then on a separate layer my faulty button. Its too big to attach, but if anyone can help i would gladly email the file
View 5 Repliesi'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

When the buttons are clicked, it takes the user to a different point in the timeline and loads the appropriate swf in the UILOader I have on stage.Everything was working fine, but it has suddenly decided to stop working. Now if you click a button on the index page, it loads the relevant swf just fine, but when you go back to the index page and click a different button, the UILoader will not show the corresponding swf and just appear blank, although I know its there as I can hear the sound of the swf playing! I'm not sure if its simply something blocking the swf, but I don't even know what it is! I'm using addChild to add little panels to the screen when a button is pressed, but they are hardly big enough to cover the whole of the UILoader!

View 1 RepliesI have 2 swf's and a activex media player on an asp page. I want the buttons on my swf to control what live stream the activex player plays. The stream urls are in a webservice that i connect with one swf then send to the other swf using "localconnection". So when you click on a button on the first swf, it then sends a list of available streams to the other swf, displaying them in their designated dynamic text fields, which are located on top of their corresponding buttons. In my "localconnection" i send both the name and the url from the first swf to the second. All the buttons load the external swfs except when I click on the contact button that is in the main flash page. I need to get the other buttons to load after I click the contact flash button. The "homeBtn" is made of 2 mirroring MC's named "topMC" and "bottomMC" since they mirror and function the same I will be addressing only the "topMC" Inside "topMC" is the animation named "liquidMC" These are all MC properties. Lets say i have a button on frame 1. And if you press it normal, you ll get to frame 2. But then if you click it on another way, you ll get to frame 3. How do i do that easy?! With another way i mean like shift click or ctrl click or is it an easier way?
View 3 Repliesi have some preloader frustrations..dont point me to a previous preloader thread...i have been there already and no im not talking about any preloader that loads the WHOLE movie at the beginning, i know how those work... I need a tutorial/explanation that will teach me how to load a move 'button by button' or 'page by page'.
By this I mean, the first thing the movie will do is load the first 'page' and say you have a few more buttons on that 'page'. It loads all the buttons and that 'page' first..nothing else...then i click one of the buttons (no matter what order) and the 'page' switches to a preloader and then when the second 'page' is loaded, it is displayed.So many sites have this kind of preloader...but i cant believe how many tutorial sites only teach how to program the type of preloader that just loads the WHOLE movie.
I'm trying to edit a Flash file, that get it's data from and XML file.Now when you click on one of the menu items, the page + page title should change, but somehow the page title remains the same. (at least for the first 3 menu items) But when you go to the last menu item and then back to one of the first 3 menu items, the correct page title is shown.I'm no flash / AS expert, so I can't really find out what the problem is, but it seems like it has something to do with this function

Basically, I have a button and on click it displays a menu. I want to click that menu a second time and the menu closes. Currently, every time you click the button, the menu reopens. I pasted the Flex livedoc example below. If you click the button, the menu keeps reopening.Now, I rigged it up by setting a var to open and closed, so when clicking the button it does a check. However, if you click away from the screen, the HIDE event gets dispatched, and the menu closes. This messed up the open close var being set.
How could I make this Flex example below show the menu on button click, and then on a second button click, it closes the menu? Take into affect that if you click away from the menu, it closes it.Also, I played around with the MOUSE_DOWN_OUTSIDE event for the button and set the preventDefault, and the FlexMouseEvent event.cancelable is set to false.Changing to a PopUpMenuButton is not an option. I have to much skinning involved.Here is the Flex example:

I am building a flash interface and I would like a menu where it is hidden to begin with (just a tab). You click the tab to expand it, and click again to collapse it. View 5 RepliesI have a test button i would like to have play a movie where a graphic expands. Once stopped, I would like to be able to click that same button and have the graphic go backwards. I would prefer to have timeline reverse, rather than lengthen the timeline of the mc because then i have to line up the start and end, and if one changes, i have to remember to change the other.
