Is it possible to use an AMF Channel in a Flex HTTPService client application without using Adobe Livecycle, BlazeDs or similar in order to do real time asynchronous request from an HTTPService?

I create a Flex application that works with a browser using a database with the MySQL server that I can create, modify and delete data from a database. The problem I encounter now is that I want to see my program with Adobe AIR (virtual machine). At the display that does not pose a problem. The problem is that air can not reach the database server is located in the MySQ. the error message displayed is as follows: "Error : client.Error.MessageSend - Channel.connect.failed error tConnection.Call.Failled : HTTP: Status 404:url:'[URL]"

View 1 RepliesI'm trying out the FlasBuilder ide with ColdFusion 8 on OS X. When I try to create a new project, I get stuck at the server setup screen that forces you to validate your paths for your ColdFusion root folder and your webroot. Every combination I try says either "LiveCycle Data Services is not installed at the specified location" or "Invalid root. The WEB-INF/flex folder must contain either flex-config.xml or services-config.xml." The flex-config.xml file is sitting in that directory. Is there some trick to getting this to work?

View 1 RepliesI want to create a Flex 3 application running in Adobe Air that accesses an SQLite database and I need to keep this database in sync with an SQL server 2005 database running a website.Is this something that Flex supports or is it going to be a custom script? Also, has anybody done anything like this?
Edit: The synchronisation can be done on a daily basis rather than real time. The data will be read only from a front end perspective with a CMS to do updates on the website.
I have researched this issue all over and most people say use the .refresh() method to update a datagrid after updating or adding a new record. This does not do anything. So, my issue is this. I have a mySQL database hosted I am connecting via PHP, I have 1 mxml file and 2 php files (I know I can use just 1 but I am learning and this was easier for me to use for troubleshooting). The issue is no matter what I change on the datagrid the update does not show on the datagrid unless I close out of IE and reopen it. I can refresh or open the page in another window and the update does not show. I have to exit entirely and restart in order for any updates or additions to show.Here is my licenseTracker.mxml

I am working on a function to generate a form at runtime in Flex based on a call to the DB. The call to the DB returns the field types, id, tooltips etc as an arraycollection, the arraycollection is then parsed in order to ascertain what control to display based on the type field in the array - this bit works fine.However, i am stuck on trying to save the form fields back to the database using a CFC.my form rendering code is as follows but how do i save values entered back to the database? rendering code..

I am planning on using Flash Builder 4/Flex to write an AIR application which is primarily based around recording, storing and analyzing data.I'll be creating charts etc that need to update in almost real time.It's essential to me that the application be able to function without an internet connection so I need a local database of some variety,but I would also eventually like to build in online synchronization of the data where either database can be update each other based on newer information. Moreover, some type of encryption would definitely be welcome, and speed is a large concern
Synchronization: Primarily updates/additions/deletions will be done on the offline database, but ideally I want to have a web interface that will allow the same updates/additions/deletions and will be synced (beyond that I'm not sure exactly how to do it as I can model that based on what is most achievable).I'm wondering if there's any prebuilt engine that could handle the synchronization of 2 databases. I may end up having the web interface only be for additions, which would be significantly easier to sync.. and I may start that way, but i want to build with technologies that will best allow me to implement full online crud at some point.

The inventory that exists on the desktop site was, as I understood, built with Flex. Is it possible to access this database for the jquery mobile site? I believe it is. In my case, I create a ChannelSet and then add a Channel to that ChannelSet.Apparently, the added channel is the current channel of the ChannelSet. But what if I would add two Channels to the ChannelSet? That's easily done with setPan, however you end up with the audio playing on only one channel, and that's pretty bad, specially if you watch in headphones. So my question is:
how do you take one channel from an FLV stream and send it to both speakers?
I am experimenting with video using the alpha channel capability of the FlashCS3. I followed the tutorial on the gotoandlearn website on how to create chroma keyed video. I exported an avi video file having removed the background. Ive used Flash video encoder for VP6 and flash player 8 with encode alpha channel ticked. However my swf is not showing the video, just a white blank where it should be. It puts out the audio only.

i can now getPixel() from a external jpg but what i finallly want to achieve, is getPixel32() the alpha value is always FF(255)
[URL] take a look on this sample~ in this sample the photo is partially transparent, i can see that in photoshop if i put my code in this file, the color picker can tell the alpha changes. that why i still think there is a chance for getting the alpha value from external .png~ just don'y know how to achieve it T_T (i've try transparent png and also alpha channel added png, doesn't work like the sample)

I have some png images which were converted to movieclips and exported. I would like all clicks on the transparent parts of the png to be ignored by a movie clip on a closer layer and have a movie clip under the transparent parts receive the event. Is there a way to do this? When I convert the symbol to a movie clip, the authoring tool automatically puts a bounding box on it so all clicks in the bounding box are detected. I tried searching mouse events and alpha channel stuff on the forum.

Duplicates... I have basically found it's not checking the mp3 frequently enough, no matter what the frame rate is set to. I've got this running at a steady 100fps. Before you say.. Yes it's actually running at that speed, if I use code to move something about, it's extremely smooth and fast. I also had the framerate reporting to a text box, and it was saying 99.9/100 constantly. I've also tried using a timer instead of Enter_Frame, but it's the same issue - Just not checking the mp3 often enough!
