I have a piece of code that i created that worked perfectly when used in the Flash timeline, but in order to reuse it in multiple files I want to save it as an external AS file. I haven't really done that before and now I get this error: 1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: Event.

I'm getting this error on publishing the flash file:

Error #2044: Unhandled NetStatusEvent:. level=error, code=NetConnection.Call.Failed
- I'm in localhost on Windows with Xampp.
- If I open in the browser the url of nc.connect() it returns "Zend Amf Endpoint".
- If I print the return of the Tutorials.getTutorials() from another script the returned array contains the correct data.

Feb 6, 2010Even though there are plenty introductions to TDD (even in PHP, my primary programming language now),My friend introduced me TDD a while ago, but I wasn't actually able to understand it - what's the point in writing tests to everything first - even the simplest tasks - when in the end, it looks it's more efficient to test only if something doesn't work, although it might be much harder to locate the bug (this could be solved through VCS, no?).So is there any introduction, with dead-simple examples and arguments behind "pros"?Something like "yeah, it's better, because you have better design - look at this example..."I understand that you create "test" and then the function, that should pass the test. But how you say to language, what results should it have? To me it looks that you do some function... debug it (the same way as you debug in no test driven dev.) and call it test and do it again..Also, is this applicable to MVC approach? Or rather, CodeIgniter Newbie MVC?Read a bunch of posted and googled advices, plans, ways and tutorials. I am still not entirely into TDD - I mostly have pretty good visualisation and I think (hope?) I write pretty maintable code, so i still see it as an extra work...

However when i publish the file as a swf or .exe the skin either disapears or just doesn't work.I have managed to get a skin that stays when i publish however the play, rewind and fast forward buttons don't work. Mar 18, 2010OK, I now have Action Script 3 that will work for chaining FLV videos... or Looping an FLV video.
But when one video ends there is a short pause before the next one loads and starts... the progress bar for the Flash Player displays diagional green lines... and it is simply not a smooth transistion.
This happens when chaining or when looping.
And, even though I'm doing a progressive download... where the video starts very quickly... and plays while it downloads... there is a short delay at the start. That is not as noticable as the break between videos or when looping back to replay the same video.
The Question:
Is there a way to create a visual transistion... say a rotating object... or something to keep the motion/action going during that short interval?
I've seen something like this before... like two (broken line) circles rotating in opposit directions... or something.
It show the "busy" status or whatever I guess.

When importing the .flv file of the video into the Flash project, I chose the imbedding method. I realize this increases the size of the overall .swf file when doing so. On the first watch (before the file is cached) it tends to pause while loading and/or jumps. I've tried other methods (like choosing the file has already been deployed to a web server, and play methods such as progressive download from a web server, stream from a Flash video streaming service, and stream from a Flash communication server). When choosing those other methods, the video loads nicely but the audio sounds a bit more distorted while playing. So, at present, I'm using the embed video in SWF and play in timeline option. Does anyone have any other suggestions to improve the video buffer speed, performance and the overall loading and quality of the Flash file? I'm still using Flash Professional 8.

Jan 31, 2011I created a photo gallery using flash and I can't get it to work on my web page.I am using Flash CS5 and Dreamweaver CS3.If I just open the html file (the one Flash created when I published it) it works just fine but, when I put the Flash video on the page I created in Dreamweaver, it plays, but without the images.
