Flex :: Change VBox To HBox Dynamically
May 4, 2010I am in need of a strange solution. I have one requirement in which I am displaying two components in a VBox. But on click of the main container I need to maximize that and need to display the components in horizontal. I was just wondering whether I can change the VBox to HBox and viceversa dynamically using actionscript or some other way.

Jul 28, 2010I create an HBox, fill it with a grid of buttons, and set the scroll policy. When I resize the window, the stage changes size, and so does the HBox ... to a point. Once it reaches the height of the Grid it contains, it stops shrinking, like it has a "min-height". This ruins the scrollbar that I'm trying to establish in this case.
I've set the height to 100%, shouldn't it always take the height of the stage, it's parent?[code]....

Jun 20, 2011I have created a tile list with custom item renderer and in terms of functionality it works as it should. I reduced the width and height of the item renderer to 95% which then shows the tile lists background in the remaining 5% of that item. The problem is that only when I hover over the item, the background is covered up and I cant get a gap to appear between items. Is it possible to change the height and width of the hover over?

Jul 10, 2011I am making a new flash website and i stack on the as3 part.My site have a menu like all the site do.Now on the site load there is a background picture.When you press one of the menu buttons, the background image will change to this button specified image.But all that in an animation of fade in and out.My problem that i have everything but i cant know which image was before it changes to the buttons specified one. It maybe require as3 which i dont know.I cant upload here my work. its personal.But i ask you the professionals, please make a short fla file which will have the code and animations i need.(if you cant understand me)Please, make a fla file, which contains random 3 images.At the start it will have main background and a menu on it(just text-for fast and short work)The menu is 3 text ine(main,about,contact)now, make that when you press about(for example) it will change the main image(background) to the image of the about page.

1. The class instantiates and adds a number as text on top of the image that I created the MovieClip class from
2. As the main class of the fla rotates images it calls the loadItem() function of each corresponding button.
3. That function starts the timer and, on each tick of the timer, the background image changes.
What is happening right now with this code is that the new image (that I want to be the background image behind the text) is coming in on top of the text.
Is there a way to simply replace the image currently loaded into the MovieClip.

My design, I want to be a lot simpler. The second level HBox is initially hidden.When I click the label, 'Show more Options', the second level HBox is displayed.Now I have the space occupied by the 'second level HBOx' empty and the 'search' button appaers below the space.My first question is, Is there a way to position the Search Button in such a way that, the space is not there and after the 'Show more Options' label is clicked, the 'Second Level HBox' appears?And the second question is, Can I position the Search Button at the center of the page. Flex :: Change Preloader Background Color?
Sep 6, 2010I have a custom preloader that I designed in flash. When I load it in flex, it loads with a white background. When I try to change the background to black in my flash file & load it in Flex, the background color remains white. I've also tried to update the compiler settings in Flex, adding "-default-background-color #000000" but I still get a white preloader background. I am using Flex 4. Here is my Pre.as file:

If you look closely you'll see that I've changed the default value for the bgFill color. However, when I run my application, the background color for the dropdownlist is still the default white.

Is there any built-in way to do this, or will I need to write my own custom drawing code to draw the background with rounded corners?
