has their own web-to-lead form that can be used to send leads from a website contact form. But I want to submit leads from a contact form inside a flex application. I can't see anything in the documentation, or on Google about this. Is it possible?
View 1 RepliesI'm looking to consume SOAP services -- read only -- from a third party web service. I know Flex has strong SOAP functionality. I am wondering, however, if there is any benefit to using e.g. Ruby or PHP to consume those 3rd party services and then passing the results to Flex, versus doing it all in Flex. Other than decoupling the client code from the SOAP logic, I can't really think of one.
View 1 RepliesI am writing an application in Flash Builder 4.5. I am also writing a PHP Web service to access data from our MySQL database. This Web service will be made available to third party clients for them to develop applications to access our database as well, via SOAP.
Is there a big performance difference between connecting to the service in Flash Builder via connecting directly to the PHP file vs. connecting to a Web Service via SOAP?I would kind of like to connect to this service the same way that our clients will, to make sure things stay as uncomplicated as possible for future development, but performance is my main priority.

I bought a template ([URL}..and it has an area for contact us, but the form doesnt actually work. The template seemed easy enough to be able to get to that page, took some searching in there, so i just need to somehow add some action script that can send me the info.
View 1 RepliesHow to create a contact form within my flash that emails me when someone fills out the forms, including a very good step by step at VTC. What I have found is that most of these tutorials start with the assumption that you're creating the contact form on a blank flash canvas, which is reality, is not always the case. So while I am sometimes able to get the forms to work if I do it on a brand new Flash movie, the moment I try to recreate the form within my current flash file, it stops working. I have mostly tried to recreate the contact form as a seperate movie within my flash file on it's own layer and have tried placing the Submit button within the contact form movie and also outside of it - neither works of course. Using CS3 btw.

So according the image, my contact form is called "mcForm" which is a movie clip within the larger .fla on its own layer. The actions that are associated with the 1st frame in the "actions" layer above are as the following:

My contact form works just fine, however, I currently have the target set to "_blank" which is not what I want. Rather than opening the .php file open in a new window, I just want to go to a new frame (labeled "success" or "error")within my flash file (which currently works fine)So, my question is how do I send the form information to my php file WITHOUT having to open a new window outside of my flash
file since I'm sending the user to new frame instead.
FYI: I've already tried removing "_blank" but it still opens the php file in a new browser window.

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to create a contact form, using a small PHP script.The PHP is working fine, the problem is in the AS.For some reason, I can't get the ActionScript to gather the information from all the fields in the contact form.For the last two fields, I get the error "Implicit coercion of a value of type String to an unrelated type Number." Here's the relevant part of the code:

I have taken a look at enunciate, but it seems to generate only AMF client.
I've also tried to look at GraniteDS, but their doc seems a little opaque to me.
Notice my Flex project is compiled using flexmojos, which contains a flexmojos:generate mojo that should be able to generate domain object (however I don't understand how to say it to use domain classes from ANOTHER project, and not from a different folder).
So, is there any maven plugin that would allow the kind of feature described in this Adobe page ?
the source files work perfectly when I upload them to my server - but when I insert the form into my flash website - I am unable to receive the contact email at all. The problem must be with the flash file becuase I have not altered the php (except to send to my email)

I've poked around online for a solution, but for the most part I either don't understand them (forum grammar can be somewhat obtuse) or the answer in the post doesn't apply.
My group is working on a Flex/AS3 scientific web application that is data intensive. Luckily the only plots involved are line charts. However, each line chart may have multiple traces (up to 24), and each trace may contain up to 2000 points. The user will need to zoom in and out and interact with the data (e.g. data tips, etc.).
The response I'm getting from developers is that's a lot of data to render in a plot in Flash. For reasons beyond the scope of this post, we can't sample the data to reduce the size (this has already been done and nature of the data prevents further sampling).
Rendering speed is critical for this app. What kind of rendering speed should I expect the Flex 4 line chart component to provide for a given number of points (e.g. 1 second to render 1000 points?)
Are there products available that handle plotting large data sets better, which can be incorporated in Flex (I've seen FusionCharts and ZingCharts online but have no idea how they compare with Flex's components)? Of those, which are easy to develop with while still providing a lot of flexibility in look and feel?

I wanted to create a simple flash contact form for my flash website. I went through Lee's tutorial on how to create the contact form and PHP file to go with it. I've uploaded everything to my server and tested the form. My flash form consists of Name, Subject, Message, and Email fields. When I receive the email all that comes through is this with none of the actual message that was written IN the contact form:
Name: Subject: Message: Email: The 'From' field is also blank. I don't know if my problem is with flash, my PHP code, or with my server. Can someone take a look at this and tell me what's wrong? I can't seem to find any errors from Lee's tutorial with my code or labeling.

I have noticed two differences between spark and mx forms which are causing me some problems. It seems by default the mx forms are arranged to the label is above the form input item. In Spark they are arranged next to each other. Also the label in spark forms are bold by default.For example MX code could be

View 1 RepliesI have successfully generated my web service proxies using the FlexBuilder menus. This particular web service has an internal (or incorrect) "location" specified in its WSDL. This means that when I go to make an actual method call, it fails because the DNS name specified in the location field is wrong. (It shows as "aborted" in fire bug).
How do I set the location attribute on the service object?

The field that needs to be changed is listed below. It is called "WSDL- ndpoint." So the question is: How do I do this programmatically given the generated web service object (the one that extends WebServiceWrapper)?
