I need to make a Flash animation fullscreen. After a bit of research it seems I can only feasibly do this via a browser, since the Windows 7 preview does not support fullscreen.
I followed the steps of this website; [URL]
However, I'm having a problem embedding the flash file into a simple HTML document. The file is called "LaBoheme.swf" and is stored in the same directory as my HTML file. Hence, here is my code;
<html>
<body>
<h1>Test Heading</h1>
[Code]....
The problem is simply that the flash animation does not appear. I get the feeling I'm making a rookie mistake here

I'm trying to embed several flash files (swf) into different html pages. These flash files vary in size between 6 and 20 MB. I want these files to start playing immediately once the page is loaded. I'm aware that the file sizes aren't really small and so they will require some time to load. What I would like to know now is if flash will automatically stream these files from the server and will start playing them or if it has to download these files before it can play them? I've only got a local dev environment atm so can't really test the behaviour on live.
I have a swf file embedded in my html page. How do I have a check for the older version on flash version, and if its an older version, I want to prompt the user to install a new version.My html page code is below, and it has two swf files embedded (login.swf and whats_new.swf)
<!DOCTYPE html> Cloud.cm - Connect.Collaborate.Share Cloud brings online collaboration to your documents, music, video, calendar, email and chat
I have a flash swf file that displays some training information that must go out to about ten thousand people in our organisation. Maybe only 70% of people have the flash player installed on their work PC's and IT have the systems locked down so tight this remaining 30% can not install flash player themselves. Flash is only rolled out with new PC's.
I have created a flash movie using actionscript 3 and an xml file with a list of images for a slideshow. After clicking publish, I can view the slideshow by previewing the html file it creates for you. However, I want to embed this flash movie in a different web page. When I try to add it in Dreamweaver, by dragging and dropping the swf file into the page, a flash placeholder is generated, but the movie does not play when previewed. It is just blank white space.
Now I watched the Tom Green tutorials on "flash the easy way" and my flash (CS4 professional) did NOT generate the AC_RunActiveContent.js files. I did find and download the file and manually added it to my Scripts folder. Still no joy.
I will note that the html file that embeds the flash video is in a different directory than the movie itself. Surely this cannot be the issue, otherwise people's websites would be incredibly messy with multiple flash videos. I am trying to put all the flash movies in their own child directories of a /flash directory to keep them neat and organized.
I am not sure what to do next. How do you make the dang thing play on a web page that is in another directory?
I have an average carousel flash component I downloaded... It would be easy to embed into an html webpage but I need it in a flash webpage that I am building...I figured I could put the whole thing into a movie clip and stop on that frame and the carousel animation would work fine but all it does is loop my animation... Even with the "stop();" at the end... My skills are pretty basic in Actionscript...

i'm seriously going crazy with my flash file.i built an xml news ticker in as3 that works perfectly, but if i try to launch from html file, it doesn't work properly.
I bought this flying birds MOV file from istockphotos and now I'm stuck trying to implement it into my webpage, I want it to run like a flash file, every few seconds but I can't seem to be able to import it into Adobe Flash, I tried using the code below but it does not allow me to do much and is not transparent:
In the code below what is addvariable doing also i need to embed the swf only in my html page and it is not php. how to embed the swf file in html page
I've been so frustrated for the past 12 hours trying to get things to work on flash, one thing at a time. I came to a point where I am trying to do the simplest thing as embeding an external html file. I searched all over the net and found many threads tutorials, which none had what I needed. I basically have a html file with nothing but text, and a css file that styles it. How the heck do I embed that into flash, at a certain location, without is scrolling or anything like that?
I have been looking round the web trying to find a way of embedding a swf floating over the webpage but just cant find anything about it. An example of what I am talking about would be: www.widgetbox.com where if you click "Get Widget" at the bottom of a widget, it launches a flash popup over the whole webpage that moves with the page and disables any links on the webpage itself.
When I embed the flash into HTML I get an error saying: "This page required AC_RunActiveContents.js" What is this supposed to mean? It works fine when its not inside HTML.
I'm making a flash website, I know the basics of html and AS3, but this is my first time trying to use them together. I need only two interactions between the swf file and the server:
The .swf needs to be able to grab image files from a directory hosted on the server
I have a finished Flash site that my client is requesting I embed a HTML page in it. The HTML page is run by another vendor so I can't just recreate it in Flash and my client wants it to like the HTML page is part of the Flash interface when it launches.
Can Flash do this... call a HTML page and embed it into its interface?
I want toload a html webpage which contains a calendar into my swf file. Thehtml file does not contain tags that flash does not recognise butim unsure on how to get flash to display the webpage, if this ispossible at all. I have attached the code within my html file.Basically all I want to do is load "calendar.html" into my flashmovie and keep its format
I have a flash app, that redirects to another page. I'd love to trap any other window unload event (clicking links / submitting forms) and warn the user they'll lose their progress in the Flash app. However, I can't find any way to tell that the click/change of URL/window unload was triggered by Flash vs being triggered by a normal link etc. Is there any way to detect this, and how reliable is it?
I am trying to use IE8's IWebBrowser2 interface to obtain a webpage's embedded flash's url, height, width information. This flash can be generated by javascript. So I did like this: from IWebBrowser2 I got IHTMLElementCollection,then I iterated through the collection to get IHTMLObjectElement2,and finally called get_data() to get flash's url.
But when I tried to extract flash object's url for [URL], get_data() returned "null". Why is this?So what's the difference between IHTMLObjectElement2 and IHTMLElement2? What's the right way to obtain IHTMLElement2 from IWebBrower2?
I have given up on trying to get the source of a webpage (I don't own this server) in AS3. All it does is throw an sandbox violation error (2048). So far I have come to a conclusion that the only solutions possible are:Make my web server serve the content to the swf.Make a proxy server for the swf with crossdomain.xml.Somehow, both the options are being rejected by my seniors & I am being pushed for a better solution.I don't have any idea if anything else is possible, does anyone here have one??
how to download the html of a webpage inside of flash? This is pretty common in most languages, in C# you can use Webclient, java HTTPURLConnection, PHP has CURL.
i'm trying to make a quick and easy personal flash website in a short period of time, and i've decided to use 'pictobrowser' [URL] software to create a slideshow gallery easily (my flash knowledge isn't great and my time is limited!). basically it pulls photo info from my flickr sets and creates a slideshow- but all it gives me is some html coding and i'm not sure how to incorporate this into the flash file so it loads every time the page loads.
I know how to make a webpage pop up out of flash that links to a certain site or whatever...
But can you put the HTML inside flash itself, so all the source is contained in the flash, and when you open the webpage, it will be generated as stored in flash?
my website has a flash menu that is a little bit annoying to see reloading everytime people hit a button. So i would like to set the buttons action to send a javascript variable or something like that. This way the html content, above the flash could change with a javascript include which would use this variable to know what page should be included... something like that. I don't know how to do this (flash to javascript and the use the variable to include a page content)
